If you…read morewant to keep your costs down, and not have to pay the exorbitant prices for drinks etc, Edgemont is an excellent choice. The facility has been recently painted with contemporary colors and looks fresh and bright. They have five large windows that look over a beautiful patio area with a large gazebo, as well as a beautiful view of COP and the mountains. We had our daughter's wedding there this past weekend (August 2nd), and held the ceremony on the patio. It was perfect and the setting is breathtaking. The staff are absolutely amazing and very accommodating. There are round tables and chairs that seat 200 included with rental of the facility. The kitchen is large and can accommodate professional catering. We rented the hall for both Friday evening and all day Saturday and it was very reasonable. Check this place out and visualize all the possibilities you can for your wedding here. BTW, I've also used this facility for a children's Christmas party for a non profit organization and had the same wonderful experience!

From the outside it doesn't look like wow but inside is quite impressive. Great facilities and its great for corporate event or meeting. The hall can fit a lot of people. When I got there, I was a little bit confused by the architecture of the building and wasn't sure where I was supposed to go in. Finally, I made my way inside to what I believe to be the main floor. There wasn't a ton of space in here, but more than enough room to highlight some great vendors. I browsed some jams, rad terrariums, artwork, etc. I made my way upstairs, but again, the size of the building didn't allow for much capacity and I ended up feeling too close to strangers and left. Even though I once lived in Bridgeland, this is the first time I have visited this centre. Bridgeland is getting to be kind of cool, and I look forward to seeing more rad events like this in the future. Review 32/30 of Yelp's 30 day Challenge 2012

The advantages of having a wedding ceremony & reception here are: 1. It's actually available in the summer 2. You can get in the night before to set up 3. It's not AS expensive as booking an actual wedding hall 4. It fits a significant number of people (my sis had about 300 people attend) 5. Speaker system is great (We danced the night away) 6. It's easy enough to get to 7. You can cater in food & booze from wherever you'd like So yeah, as you can see, I'm definitely a fan. If you're gettin' married in the near future, check this place out. I hope my review has helped you and your budget ;)

I call it a community hall because calling it the Varsity community building just doesn't have the same feel to it. If you're from a small town, the hall itself isn't so much what you'd expect. See, where I grew up, the community hall was a one room deal with a stage at the end. This one's got a multitude of rooms in different shapes and sizes that are used for a variety of different things (dance classes, Girl Guides and even a playschool). The hall is great (and cheap) for small group kind of rentals. Unlike your small town hall (big hall for the small town rather than the other way around), I don't think you'll want to be catering any big weddings here. But with a playground right outside, some field space, and easy accessibility just off Shaganappi Trail, you've got a solid venue for your event(s).

I don't think I've ever had a better server. She was the friendliest, kindest, attentive server I've seen. She had a huge tableful of people and us on the patio - she made sure not to ignore us even though the other table was busy and they also all paid separately, so that would take up a bit of time for most people. When they left, we had one other couple join the patio. She made sure to come out often enough but also let us enjoy our time. She made some great food recommendations as well. She also treated us to Fiasco Gelato for dessert once she found out how much I love it and because it was our anniversary. How sweet is that?! The only reason that I am giving four stars is that the patio is small and you are sitting very close to know another. There is no music or anything so you feel kinda awkward having a conversation (especially if the other table is sitting there quietly). There is also no hostess to show you where to go, so we weren't sure where and when to sit. The view is spectacular though and the course looks amazing! The food is delicious and the drinks are good too! Big kudos to Jenny though. She certainly deserves a five star rating.
