I wish I could give ZERO stars or even negative stars!!! I was living here 19 years and they take…read moreour $262.50 annually for 3 months of activities and during the 2 year Pandemic we got absolutely NOTHING except the bill. The tennis courts and water park gets 4 stars (not even 5!). Today at Canada Day on Jul.01,2022 they gave my son 10 year old melted candy and we only got one tiny burger per person. This was actually the first time they did something about keeping the "uncouth" Harvest Hills and Coventry Hills folks off our community property. So for all their "savings" from keeping the heathens off our private property they were generous enough to hand out one free tiny hamburger per person this year after being closed for 2 years due to Covid. We in panorama deserve better than this BS! My question is: ".. I can't possibly be the only Panorama hills sucker to gratefully pay that $262.50 per year for nothing, basically!"

Great place for families! It is a private space, which is nice in that if it's hard so the kids can…read morerun around with a bit more freedom and the park isn't always super busy. They have a splash park, playground, sand box, beach volleyball, basketball nets, picnic areas with charcoal bbq's, and green space perfect for tossing Frisbees, football etc. They also host various events free to members, throughout the year. Easter egg hunt, with chocolate at the end, the Easter bunny has made an appearance as well. Haunted house, Canada day bbq with DJ, bouncy house and obstacle course, face painting, games etc., horse drawn wagon, Santa and hot chocolate, ice skating and toboggan run in the winter. There are also a variety of fitness and children's programs offered at reasonable rates in the center. Fees also go to the upkeep of the community which I'm not sure everyone who pays them realizes. The association plans all the flowers and looks after maintenance of the landscaping, watering etc. For the area covered by the fees. For the older parts of the community there is apparently the open to join the association of you aren't currently in it.

A couple of winters ago I was a Girl Guide Leader for the Varsity Girl Guides. No really... I was…read more Scout's honour. Every Tuesday we met at the Varsity community hall. I call it a community hall because calling it the Varsity community building just doesn't have the same feel to it. If you're from a small town, the hall itself isn't so much what you'd expect. See, where I grew up, the community hall was a one room deal with a stage at the end. This one's got a multitude of rooms in different shapes and sizes that are used for a variety of different things (dance classes, Girl Guides and even a playschool). The hall is great (and cheap) for small group kind of rentals. Unlike your small town hall (big hall for the small town rather than the other way around), I don't think you'll want to be catering any big weddings here. But with a playground right outside, some field space, and easy accessibility just off Shaganappi Trail, you've got a solid venue for your event(s).

I had my 200 person wedding at Varisty Hall and it was great. The staff are great to work with, the…read morefood was amazing. If you have an event there make sure you pay extra to get perogies! They are just like grandma used to make, and that's probably because they have a Ukranian woman making them! The venue is very beautiful inside although it doesnt look like much from the outside. They just redid the main hall with new paint and floors. If you have an event there in the summer time they even have a deck off the hall that is licensed for alcohol! Couldn't ask for a better venue or group of people to work with! Thanks so much for the great day!

I know several women in need and I prompted one of them to go to the Centre today. I accompanied…read moreher and was absolutely stunned by the amount of help she immediately received upon dropping in. A volunteer sat down with us and explained the services. There happened to be loads of free bread on site today so she was able to take as much as she needed. Coffee and snacks were available. Being that it's Christmas time, she was able to provide I.D. for herself and her children who will now receive a wrapped gift based on their choices out of donated items. That in itself put such a big smile on this woman's face that I almost cried. She also received a referral to the Women In Need Society resulting in a $100 voucher toward whatever she requires from there once it is officially approved. She can also call the Centre anytime for a food bank referral. I was totally beside myself as I watched all of this happen. We are so lucky to live in a country that can provide this kind of support. The Centre also offers many courses, some professional services and socialization opportunities. Their bulletin boards are full of great information regarding community resources and upcoming events. I walked out with a stack of brochures. There is a small area with a handful of computers with internet access as well as a fax and photocopy machine which can be accessed anytime. The Centre's appearance is very eclectic and it was also very hectic with volunteers tending to phone calls, walk-ins as well as women and children on-site using the Centre as needed. You can tell that the desks and other furnishings are well used and likely donated. Apparently the Centre may be relocated to another building in the neighborhood and if so, I hope they receive donations in order to upgrade these things, as it is much deserved. Honestly, if any woman is in need of resources and quick results, this is probably one of the best places in Calgary to go.
