We informed the server and she immediately give us another one to replace it. The sandwiches was ok nothing special about it and same with the dessert (the Macarons was a bit too sweet for me and the rest is fine). A bit disappointed with the food but I give it a 3 for good customer service and nice vibes atmosphere. Our server was really nice she constantly make sure our tea cup is filled and hot. There were empty displays - and honestly not much to see , maybe not the ideal time of year? - but it's okay it was free. The staff noticed us but never approached us or anything - so this is a pretty dull experience. - However, good for the introvert that just wants to walk around and read.

All the staff are helpful and very welcoming and the entrance is just beautiful- outside and inside! The plaza leading up to the entrance is lovely - lots of art and character. And when you enter, be sure to look up and appreciate the beautiful dome interior! There's so many intricate details. Also there are some small exhibits located around the halls on the upper floors before you go into the museum so don't miss those - very cool! The museum downstairs is the real star of the show - we were so impressed! They have lots of exhibits and interesting replicas. I really enjoyed the large replica exhibit of the terracotta soldiers - I had no idea how huge they actually are! And of the antique seismograph for measuring earthquake activity - that was really cool. They have a very detailed exhibit on the development of Calgary's Chinese community spanning over 100 years that was so fascinating. We had no idea about any of that history and are so glad we stopped in. They had lots of early artifacts and stories and many other interesting pieces, including a small wall of photographs of Calgary's Chinatown throughout its history - which was a fantastic way to start our morning exploring the area. Calgary has a surprisingly large Chinatown and if you're at all interested in Chinese culture, I highly recommend starting here and then be sure to explore the town itself. Lots to see! Oh and there's a decent bathroom up on the second floor too!

I attended a two day fitness camp at this hall. From what I can tell, the building is in good…read moreshape and I like that it has lots of windows on the main floor that open in order to enjoy fresh air and sunlight. The lower level restrooms are modern and clean (I didn't investigate the ones on the main floor). There is lots of parking and the neighborhood seems lovely, which also includes a kids park and an open, green field. I also noted the community garden on the property which adds a bit of a homey feel.

They invited my husband and I to join in a game of pick-up hockey. I had so much fun! They didn't even mind that I can barely skate & have only used a hockey stick once before tonight. It felt like good old fashioned fun to me. We all helped clear the snow on the ice before the rink was to be flooded at 9:30. Great community spirit. I can't wait to get more involved (and pay for our memberships)!

It's well maintained, but due to the age of the building the look of things is a little dated. It has a full kitchen, though you may find a few things missing so best to check ahead of time what you may need to bring on your own. I'm not sure what the legal capacity is, but the hall can easily hold 150 people for a sit down dinner. There's also a dance floor area in the centre of the room. In one corner there's a projector mounted to the ceiling with a pull down screen, so no need to rent your own.

Good shows often happen at the Legion. Good shows ... with…read morebad sound. The last time I was here, its was LOUD. The bass was overwhelming. And I was wearing EARPLUGS. It was so loud that everytime the bass kicked in, you couldn't hear Chali2na's vocals AT ALL. It was the End Of The World... and I spent it at the Legion…read more If ever you're headed to a concert or some other sort of event at the Legion on 7th Ave, head in the main doors. You'll know you're in the main doors if you are going upstairs, not down. Downstairs is a legion bar of another sorts, one I obviously didn't belong in when I wandered through the wrong door earlier this year during the Art Congress. Thankfully, whatever construction was happening and blocking off the sidewalk from the west is now done. The main entrance is a lot easier to spot. The main floor and the second floor to the Legion are both large spaces. Main floor is broken into a large room with a stage and a smaller room. Upstairs is similarly broken out. Both floors have a bar available for drink service. As far as renting out the Legion, couldn't tell you what the experience is. But as a music goer in the venue? It's more than a-ok in my books, it actually makes for a pretty sweet night! Julia mentioned all the staff being 65 and up, it looks to be keeping that reputation, the cool cats behind the bar could've easily been my grandparents... ok, maybe not as "easily" as would have been the case once upon a time, but at the very least, an aged version of my parents (Mom, Dad... if you're reading this, it's a compliment!). Let's take a meowment to appreciate everything the Legion and its members do to show us guests a good time, shall we? So, if you're looking for a large venue space, this oughta do it. Or if you've avoided shows here in the past for fear the venue wouldn't do justice to the music, don't.

They wanted an afternoon shindig, a coffee and desserts kind of affair, and this spot was perfect for that. Little kitchen, a ton of tables, a blank slate of a room the lent itself well to their cute decorations and festive tables. Bathrooms were clean and plentiful, and the adjoining room meant plenty of room for the young ones to run around, too! Bonus: plenty of parking.
