My family has been taking classes at Venture Martial Arts for 9 years now. My kids started when they were 9 and 4 - they're now 17 and almost 13 and are both 2nd degree black belts. I, too, started taking classes 4.5 years ago and earned my 1st degree black belt last year. I can't accurately convey how much Venture has changed our lives. It's not only an integral part of what we do each week, but has helped shaped my kids into who they are, embedding the values of respect, confidence, perseverance, and discipline and giving them the ability to set and achieve goals both large and small. For me, I was never an athlete as a kid, but I watched the kids take classes for 4+ years and decided I wanted to give it a try once they were both in the same class. We all need a physical activity as we age in order to stay healthy, right? The incremental way the instructors teach makes things accessible and achievable and I can now do things that I never thought I would be able to. At 50 years old, I'm more physically fit, more confident, and have built up my mental strength, all as a result of working with Venture. We've all made incredible friends along this journey, too, many of whom we consider family. We love going to class and tournaments to both learn and spend time with this amazing group of people. Venture's not just a school, it's a community. We feel seen and supported not just in our taekwondo journey, but in our lives overall. When my kids have gone through a rough patch, we've sat down and talked with the instructors, who helped them through every time. I also love it when my kids hang out with other taekwondo kids because I know they share the same values. If you're looking at older reviews, they really don't apply anymore. The school's owner, Micah Martin, has grown and shaped the school tremendously over the past several years. They've remodeled the space and improved the instructional staff. Yes, classes can be big (although the family class is smaller if that's what you're looking for), but each student still feels seen and receives individual attention. Instructors call each and every student (and many of the parents!) by name, which astounds me. Taking my son to Venture Martial Arts was the best choice I could have made. My 4yo before VMA was always in front of the screen right after school. Since he started with Venture, he is becoming more and more active everyday and doesn't care much about TV anymore. All he wants now is to get to the orange belt haha So, he would like to go every day ! We started going to Venture to help my 5 year old son with focus and also as an outlet for his energy. I was so surprised to see that there are multiple instructors for each class. My son can get distracted very easily, but because there are so many instructors, they are easily able to re-direct him and keep him focused. Sometimes he has an instructor 1-on-1 sitting right next to him when he's really struggling. They are so patient with him and never seem annoyed when he can't sit still. The facility is also very clean and I like that I can sit and watch him during class. read more

My 7 year old daughter has tried soccer, golf, tennis, dance and basketball and hasn't enjoyed anything as much as she's enjoyed training at Venture! This school and it's organization are very well structured and organized, solely focusing on the students and their progress. When I first walked in I was taken back by the amount of floor space the students have to train on. The class schedules are well thought out, making it easy for all ages to participate.
