Lovely little pier on the Skegness seafront. It used to be much longer, but was thrashed by storms…read moreso often they just gave up. As it is, still a nice place to hang out and unwind in good weather. There's a "casino" attached (as always, open only in the high season), but there's no café on the pier as such, but several pubs are available in the area (about a five minute walk from the pier). In contrast with the cheap amusements nearby, this is a nicely quiet place.

The arcade machines are in excellent condition and are fair unlike some you can encounter. It is colourful and loud, just as children like it. The road has parking space as well which makes thing seven better. For those wanting to visit Golden Sands, it has its very own car park. For little kids, they can race in karts outside. Golden Sands also has a cash machine and an over 18's slot section. Collect tickets and win prizes hanging on the ceiling. I went for a Super Mario toy. Worth a visit if you are in New Hunstanton.

The gardens themselves are very pretty and great for picnics. They also have an open air swimming pool where the water is warmer than a bath. Tennis courts, bowling green, cricket and a golf club. Then go for a walk in the woodlands and see the tearooms..something of a bygone era. Here too was the Spa and hospital. In the middle of the woods is The Kinema in the Woods situated in the centre of the Pinewoods is one of the treasures of Woodhall Spa and is completely unique. Housed in a converted cricket pavilion, when it opened in 1922 it was one of the first cinemas in Britain. It is the only cinema in the country to employ back projection and also offers regular entertainment on an original Compton Captain Organ. Little shops and cafes in the main street where you can get a meal or a cream tea. The shops are arcaded and look as if they should be at the seaside. Some nice hotels and pubs too. This is Dambuster territory and here they lived. Well worth going for a day out as there is something for every age.

Louth was crying out for somewhere like this, and Quackers has filled the market gap with style…read more It's a soft play centre, but it's so much more than that - it also hosts toddler groups, does great kids' parties, has the BEST coffee and snacks on sale and big squashy leather sofas for mums to lounge about on. It's a perfect size - not so big that you lose sight of your children, but not so small that older children don't get any fun out of it. In fact, school-age children love it, and there's also a baby/toddler room for the littlies. There are trampolines, big slides, tunnel slides and climbing ropes, plus a mini football pitch. Oh, and books to read and a dressing-up box! Prices are reasonable and you can pay for everything (including food, drink and snacks) at the end as you leave, which is very convenient. I'd like to specially highlight the fact that the food at Quackers is very healthy - party food includes carrot and cucumber sticks with hummus, and snacks range from jacket potatotes to wholemeal sandwiches (although white ones are available too). It's little extra touches like this that make Quackers worth visiting regularly.

The opening hours are good and the staff are friendly. Only drawbacks are the fact that the water's usually quite cold and the gym is very tiny and often gets crowded! Things I like about the pool are that it's good and deep at the deep end (and you can use it for diving); there are lots of inflatables and other toys available for children in selected sessions; and the gym staff are really helpful. Things which could be better are the opening hours and the water temperature. Also, a bigger gym would be a huge plus.

As a family, we often picked to travel to Cleethorpes instead of go to Louth swimming pool. I can't really put my finger on what it is about Louth, but it just doesn't really appeal as somewhere to go. It has all the facilities you might want - changing rooms, showers etc. and there is also a gym/fitness area. However it just doesn't tick all the boxes for me. Although not technically expensive, I feel that it is more on the pricey side, considering the quality you get.

Its well located on the sea front and its a great place for children and others to see the underwater world. All fish are well described and you can spend as much time as you want milling around the tanks. The seal hospital is a very useful thing for the area as it protects the seals in the area if they need help. If the food in the cafe isn't your thing then there are plenty of other options around ouside the centre. Its well worth a visit and can be very interseting, education and fun too.
