From the moment we arrived, the staff made it feel special. They had left a little birthday gift for our daughter in the trailer, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. Princess Fiona was adorable and the perfect size for our family of four. We spent hours riding bikes around the property, swinging on the swings, and just enjoying being there. The location is fantastic and incredibly walkable. We walked to dinner and came back to complimentary s'mores, apple cider, and hot cocoa waiting for guests. In the morning, there was great coffee and delicious fresh-squeezed orange juice. It's all those little touches that make this place feel so much more special than a typical hotel stay. We originally booked one night and loved it so much that we decided to stay another night! The staff couldn't have been friendlier, the kids had a blast, and the whole experience just felt easy and fun. We're already talking about coming back -- although next time we might leave the kids at home because this would also be such a fun, romantic little weekend getaway for two.

Had a wonderful weekend. Staff and facilities were both wonderful. Was even provided bikes and…read mores'mores.

Hello it's Renee and let me start this review off by stating these very important reminders:…read more - camping is a new adventure to me, I didn't grow up doing this stuff and I'm experiencing it through my kids eyes with my very supportive and capable husband - I'm tagging along on experiences curated by company credit cards or my kids Cub Scouts so we're going into these settings with an itinerary and a plan and a group of people to rely on Okay! So, hello it's me and I want to really encourage you to get outside and explore, and this spot is one I'd like for you to add to your list! I honestly did not know that there are camping grounds across the nation that are set up so you can bring a tent or rent a cabin and make your own epic experience. Ventura KOA has bathrooms, showers and all the amenities you'd want, depending on your expectations- but please remember that you are CAMPING so dirt, bugs and noises will happen and sometimes not in the way that makes our experience smooth and easy! For me, I figure that's part of the expectation since I am outside, experiencing nature. We did in fact have some teenagers go wild with their dirt bikes one evening but the grounds people did what they could to remedy the situation. The campgrounds do in fact have people around working cleaning and supporting you throughout your time there. There is a pool, zip line and other guided activities that you can pay for and choose depending on your package. We did not participate in those and still had a great time by our campfire singing songs and roasting marshmallows. There's a park, bouncing and climbing fixtures and bike paths (free) and plenty of spaces to feel unplugged. I can still hear ambient city noises and sirens so you're still around the city enough to run into town and get missed snacks and drinks. I can't wait to go back and check out other levels of the camp including the RV section and cabins. Okay thanks bye

Formal Complaint Regarding Poor Customer Service and Power Outage at the Ventura Park…read more I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with the customer service at your Ventura location and the lack of communication regarding the current power outage. I have been trying to contact the park for more than 24 hours by phone and email, with no response. It was only after approximately 26 hours that I finally received an email from Heather Post, a remote manager, stating: "I'm not on site in California, but from what I'm told today the power is not on due to winds. But the park is still open." I find this response extremely concerning and inadequate, especially given the circumstances. If the power is out due to strong winds and there is a potential fire risk, how can you expect visitors to enjoy their stay safely and comfortably without electricity? Are the restrooms, water systems, emergency lighting, and other essential facilities fully operational? What safety measures are in place to protect guests under these conditions? Furthermore, your website does not provide any information about the power outage or the current conditions at the park. Visitors should not have to spend more than 24 hours trying to reach someone just to find out about conditions that could significantly affect their stay and their safety. I understand that weather conditions are beyond your control. However, communicating with your customers, providing accurate and timely information, and addressing legitimate safety concerns are basic responsibilities of park management. The fact that I had to wait approximately 26 hours for a response, only to receive information from someone who is not even on-site and who appears to be relying on secondhand information, is unacceptable. I would appreciate clear answers to the following questions: 1. Is the park operating safely despite the power outage? 2. Are all essential facilities, including restrooms and water systems, fully operational? 3. Why has no information about the outage been posted on your website or communicated to guests? 4. Given these circumstances, what options are available regarding my reservation, including a cancellation and refund if the conditions prevent us from enjoying our stay as expected? I expect a timely and substantive response addressing these concerns. Customers should not be left without information while trying to make important decisions about their reservations, particularly when safety may be a concern. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and makes the necessary improvements to its communication and customer service.

We went in January so the greenery was still that winter brown but it was not very busy which is nice. We decided to do a kayaking tour with the Santa Barbara Adventure Group so they booked our ferry times for us. Beware of the specific ferry times cause if you miss it your S.O.O.L After the kayaking tour we got to walk a little bit around parts of the island before heading to the ferry. On the way home on the ferry we say killer whales which was truly mesmerizing! One of the best things I've ever seen.

He received a Junior Ranger packet with activities to complete, and once he finished, he was officially sworn in as a Junior Ranger. He even got a little wooden badge, which was such a cute touch! The visitor center is also in a great location, right by the Ventura Harbor, with plenty of places to grab ice cream, eat, or do a little shopping. The whole area was clean, nice, and easy to walk around. Such a fun and family-friendly stop, especially if you have kids who love adventures and earning Junior Ranger badges!

Sadly, this was by far the most disappointing experience we've had. The campground was extremely busy, but that's all the more reason for proper maintenance. The bathrooms were consistently dirty throughout our four-day stay. The Full trash bag (1) sat in the same can for days, the urinals were filthy, the floors were disgusting, and the showers had yellow, mold and spider webs. Based on the condition, it didn't appear they were being cleaned regularly. We also dealt with wasps the entire time. There were at least two active nests on site restroom, making it uncomfortable and concerning for families with children. We frequently saw staff driving around the campground, but on several occasions they simply sat in their vehicles for a while and then drove away without addressing overflowing trash or the condition of the restrooms. Even the rental boats looked poorly maintained, which made them feel unsafe to use. After a decade of making wonderful memories at Lake Casitas, it was heartbreaking to see the campground in such poor condition. We truly hope management invests more attention in cleanliness, maintenance, and guest safety because this campground has so much potential. Unfortunately, this visit left us extremely disappointed.
