Mind you we arrived 20 min prior sooooo I'm not too sure what her problem was. Plus no one let us know about the paperwork. On top of that the service is not welcoming at all. The only person that's friendly at all is the woman who takes blood other then her don't expect any pleasant service.

Getting referrals from this place was a nightmare - Fikes "didn't know" she had to "close out" a file for the referral to move forward which meant that my oncologist appointment and charge of $16K was not covered. I had to reschedule an MRI appointment and a CT scan as they drug their feet on the referral. Just went to see the neurologist and had to sit in the office for over an hour because while the referral had been approved her office never bothered to forward it. Lastly just emailed her on the portal because the chemo I'm on can affect my thyroid. Oncologist recommended Fikes do a TSH and report back to the Oncologist. Oncologist recommended that my dose be lowered IF FIKES AGREED and Fikes was THE FINAL APPROVAL. Fikes agreed and is the name on file for the medicine yet never scheduled a follow up and didn't list the new dosage on my chart. She called me this morning and basically insisted she wasn't in charge of watching my thyroid, didn't wanted to argue with me and recommended I get a new doc. I was basically fired as a patient. NOW what in the hell to do ? Can't see a new doc without changing with insurance, and if I change insurance voids all current referrals and new docs aren't scheduling new patients until May and I have chemo every 2 weeks. UGH..............welcome to American healthcare...............

So either the staff is not scheduling right or more than the allotted time is being takin for each patient. Either way not fair t o the patient. I have a life and a schedule to follow also , and I don't have time to be sitting waiting because you don't know how to run a doctors office sufficiently. The crazy thing is I actually like the Dr. , but this bothers me more and more. Looking for new doctor.

And I quote "I need to protect myself and my staff" Hmmm...protect yourself and your staff? How about protecting your patients? How about looking at their medical history before suggesting a vaccine that can cause blood clots especially in patients that have had previous blood clots? We are not an anti-vaccine family, many family members have received it, but I will not put another family member's life at risk so the "doctor" can feel better about herself and garner political brownies points from her peers. My advice...I'm sure there are other doctors in San Antonio that actually care about patients health better than this selfish irresponsible lazy "doctor" Do no harm...

As I arrived at 730, I entered a welcoming lobby filled with patients while being greeted by friendly staff members. I was called back to her office at my scheduled time and the physician came in, examined me, and offered several solutions to my nagging problems. Once she prescribed some medications, I was set to go! Finally, my wife has helped me find a physician who can handle my nagging skin problems and ease my apprehensive "white coat" fears. So, you must schedule an appointment for any skin problems because she will take care of them.

They were rude, didn't want to honor my request to see the dr instead of the nurse practitioner. She insisted only the nurse practitioner had open appointments. Then I suggested to be scheduled for the nurse practitioner because it was an emergency, but in the future I wanted to see the Primary doctor and they said no , we can't do that. If you see the nurse practitioner then you will have to be scheduled with the nurse practitioner for all future appointments. Then I said "that's not what I want. Why won't you honor my request,?," and she replied "well because it's our policy."Those were the exact words to which I replied "well then I guess I'll have to choose another doctor because if you can't honor my request then you don't need my service. I'm paying enough money to see a specialist so that I can't see the Dr. I want. No thank you." Yes sir, horrible service if you ask me. When you pay top dollar and can't even be seen by the doctor you were referred to, then they are not worthy of my business.

I got an…read moreemail asking about my visit and responded but it's been over a week and I haven't gotten a response. I followed up on the email as well. This is what my email said: Yesterday I had my follow up appointment for my annual visit with Brandi Breuer. My appointment was at 10am. I didn't see the physician until 11am. When she walked in she asked how I was doing. I took a moment to answer because I wanted to be calm. When she turned to look at me she already had an attitude, I guess because I didn't immediately answer her. I said, "well, my appointment was at 10am." I was just making a comment I wasn't trying to be combative but she got defensive and seemed upset that I had mentioned anything. Which, I get it, if it's busy it can be frustrating but what she did next wasn't called for. She then started reading through my results at the pace of a cattle auctioneer. It was so fast I could barely keep up. It was intentional and condescending. I had to say, "I'm sorry, can you repeat that again?" She said I have a cyst in my thyroid and somewhere else, I didn't know what that meant for me. Obviously it's something if it's being mentioned. So I asked what would happen if that ruptured and she said "this isn't like the movies" and I asked what was in it and she said "liquids", like I should already know that and was stupid for asking. She continued on reading everything off really quickly and closed the folder. Asked if I had any other questions and then said sorry for being behind but it was genuine. I didn't want to ask anymore questions or follow up. I get being busy and running behind, I normally expect to wait 20-30 minutes when I get to your office. An hour is a bit extensive so I made a comment just to get it off my chest and move on. I didn't expect to be reprimanded for it. I already don't like coming to the doctor. It's an anxiety inducing experience for me. 2 years ago, on my annual the doctor at your office (I forget her name) prescribed me anxiety medication. I didn't ask for this, she asked me if I had anxiety about 5 minutes after she started talking to me. She put me on something that made me have a manic episode for the first time and caused me to find out I am bipolar. She kept giving me different things that made it worse, I gained like 30 pounds, it affected my mental health so bad I had to be out of work for a few months. I finally found a psychiatrist and have gotten that figured out but I don't feel like she should have so quickly put me on medication for something that isn't her specialty as a general practitioner. So I am very wary of your services since then. I asked if I could see a different doctor this time, my mistake. All together, I left yesterday feeling defeated. I cried about it on the way home, and I don't cry. This wasn't a great experience. I don't want to have to look for another doctor's office because yours is so close to my home but I might have to after this. It really wasn't okay."
