This was on my husband's list to skate, he loves trying out different skate parks, but was recovering from a deep gash on his Achilles so he wasn't able to skate it, but since we were in LA, still wanted to check it out. It was a beautiful day so it was busy. You have the beach on one side & shops and restaurants on the other side. Venice is not my favorite place to visit but it was pretty fun and the area we were at seemed really cleaned up.
Just a fun place to watch people and skaters. Love photographing the skaters with the palm trees, ocean, mountains and sun in the background.
Venice skate park it's a staple in The area. It's always fun to watch people go skateboarding both young and old :-) it's definitely a place for tourist to check out for the Southern California lifestyle. It's very cool that it's right next to the beach and you can look at the ocean at the same time. Bottom line is visit this skate and park when your in the area!
This was a wonderful experience. The only advice I would say is that atvh out for the t-shirt ships. The ones that print any design there is one that is amazing and the older guy who runs it is honest, then there is the second one we went too which tried to charge us 280$ for a single sweater. We are fighting with our bank right now to get the charge reversed save your money and buy from a local artist instead. Otherwise this is a beautiful place and as long as your on your toes, you'll be just fine
One of the best places in the world. A free skate park on the ocean is a win win. So many tourists come here to watch the locals fly like eagles. Gets jam packed quick especially on the weekends. World class skateboarding right here in Venice beach.
Not a skater. Just a fan of positivity. And watching these people do what they love and do it well is WILDLY satisfying. Especially in the evenings as the sun is setting (see picture), listening to the chatter and the wheels rolling on the concrete... All where the sport was made famous by Jay Adams and everyone else... It's pretty powerful, to be completely honest with you. Go. Take it all in. Enjoy it. It's amazing. And costs zero dollars.
If you want to see really talented skaters, come to Venice. Safe to say there's probably few skateparks that come close to Venice's vibe and amazing location.
Beautiful skate park on the beach! Lots of fun to watch skateboarders of all experiences, ages, genders and levels!
Come and skateboard or see some amazing skateboarders. A fun experience. George Vreeland Hill
*** Liv'n vicariously thru Mini-me again. *** My boy and his bff wanted to skateboard last Sun afternoon. They really think they are great at it, so I decided to bring them here so they can put their lil egos in check. Some of the boarders here are amazing!!! This is the kinda park that I dreamed of as a kid myself: paved mounds, sunken pool, metal railings, plus an audience to watch. Years ago I woulda skated here daily. (lol) Now it is time for Mini-me to take the torch. Supervise your kid b/c there are adults that skate too and in event of injury, you are near. *** Watch out Hawk, Mini-me is in training! ***
Wow, wow and wow. This was an amazing little skating area with some skilled kids and adults rocking out on their skate boards. Everyone was ooohing and aaaahing at all of the stunts and tricks. It looked so scary and exhilarating at the same time. My azz can't even ride a skateboard on a flat pavement. Definitely a place to check out and be wowed.
Can't say I've been to many skate parks but this one is definitely one to check out (as a layperson). I've been here to watch the skateboarders do their thing all year round. Having palm trees and the ocean as the backdrop certainly doesn't hurt in deciding to stay for a while to take in the talented skateboarders do their thing. I will without a doubt be back the next time I'm in LA.
So I'm not a skater. So this review is purely on observation. Located in the same location as the Venice Boardwalk. Basically a giant swimming pool with rails, humps and ramps. Tourist and locals surround the giant cement pit behind the railings while watching those brave enough, crazy enough and skilled enough to not only challenge themselves but the crowds that come to have claimed they "came and conquered". There is a lot of talent here! From beginner to expert, it's worth a stop. Although I have seen far better skate parks, one can't beat the views here.. whether the surf and sand or the eclectic locals and tourists. If you know how to ride a board, this may be just the place to catch a ride. Patience and politeness is a must. Don't skate??..that's ok, go check these guys & gals out!

My husband and I visited the Venice Skate Park while in the area. It is a large skating area for different people to skate at the beach. There's a walking path that leads the way and there is some cool art work leading up to the park. While there we saw many different people doing tricks. There are plenty of places to stand and watch. I don't skate but I enjoyed watching different people of different ages doing some really cool tricks. I recommend this place if you are a skater or you just like to watch people as they practice their skating skills. read more

We saw a crowd gathering while roaming Venice Beach and walked over to see. We were delighted to find the skatepark, seeing skaters of all ages enjoying themselves. It's pretty too as there's palm trees all around and it's right near the ocean. read more

Only stopped by to watch the skaters for a while. It looks so surreal in real life! If you're lucky you'll see some really incredible stunts. read more

Man this place make me want to pick up a board and skate again. There is a ton of talent in the skaters that come here. Cool place to sit around and watch them to their thing. The view/location is amazing and epitome of LA skating. Nice very skating, skaters seem to get decent air in that bowl. Definitely girly a cool vibe to be a part of or watch when in Venice beach. read more

I cannot believe that no one has never reviewed this park. I frequent this place often. I go super early so the youth does not disturb me. I have been to a ton of parks in my day, but this one hands down is the best. Nothing like some coffee and a 30 minute ride before work. It's nice to see that they are re-vamping this area. Have fun. read more
Our overall favorite skate park. Imagine a place on the beach with big smooth bowls, a snake run, and plenty of street stuff. Skate in the sunny Californian breeze while throngs of tourists look on. Never too hot, never too cold. The Pacific Ocean is the beautiful backdrop. Very common to see a variety of pro skaters at this spot and if not pro, you'll see some incredible talent. This park is often used for ads and movies and is the centerpiece to the Dogtown skate scene these days. Highly recommended. If you aren't skating, you should at least come by and behold the awesomeness. Listed as one of the top attractions in Venice Beach, this park does not disappoint. read more

I am not a skater or anything like that. I mean I used to have this one pair of roller blades back when I was like ~14 but never tried any stunts. I can honestly say I am a fan of this skate park. I mean, what more can you ask for? Amazing view of the pacific ocean, pretty talented kids and older crowd that show their tricks. I love standing around watching these amazing kids risk their lives at the skate park. I have even seen a little 6yr old skate like a pro, seriously that kid gathered such a crowd. His dad was there watching over him. Def a must when you visit Venice. read more

The Venice Skate Park is free and open to the public...and has an ocean view to boot. I myself don't skate, but do admire the skater's artistry and skill. Has a couple of bowls - one shallow and one deep - and a couple of other setups/obstacles. Great place to wile away a bit of the afternoon. read more

If you're looking for a true Venice Beach experience, make sure to stop by the skate park and watch how the crowds gather around the amazing skaters. Everyone from beginners to experts are there; it's one of the best spots on the boardwalk (or a little off the boardwalk). read more
Seriously loved hanging out here and watching the skaters. Man, those kids are talented. Very interesting also because many of them have agents and do commercial work. Great way to spend a couple hours. Take the time to check out the urban art around the skate park! read more

I recently worked remotely from Venice Beach, and had an awesome time watching the skaters at the Venice Skate Park. I wasn't expecting to see such a huge crowd when I arrived, but was pleasantly surprised by the excitement and electricity in the air. I watched some skaters effortlessly perform tricks, while others happily flopped around. Since I was wearing khakis and a polo, I also received some lighthearted jabs (which were both funny and creative). Overall, I definitely recommend that people visit this skate park given the chance, simply because it has a strong sense of community. read more

Even if you don't ride a skateboard, you'll love being a spectator. You'll see some amazing skaters doing their best right in front of you. I've found that if your hanging out in Venice Beach you just have to go watch the skaters! read more

Great place to check out skaters do their thing and zone out a bit. Some of the kids there are really amazing. Some are future superstars for sure. One kid was like 7 and could skate better than pros. Cool to take in some Californian people watching here. read more

Best skatepark I've ever been to. How could you beat a skatepark right on the beach in Venice California. I used to go here daily when I lived in Venice and now, every time I visit I have go to the skatepark. It's like a ritual. The park is always very clean and everyone is super respectable. After a long day at the park there are so many great restaurants and pubs to go to and eat or chill. Such a perfect centrally located skatepark read more

My 7yo son is dying to go here. He rides a scooter. Will he be totally unwelcome if we went during the week as opposed to the weekends?
