    I went in to Havertys for the first time. I met Mark the sales manager and I found a leather set…read morethat I liked but wanted to think on it and have their designer person see if it would fit ok. She came out and then i went back and we ended up seeing a leather sectional we liked and i was not sure about it and Mark worked out some prices and said just take it today, if you change your mind you have 3 days to have it picked up. It was almost $9K which is rather absurd but we got him down a bit after he brought Jason out who i assumed was a manager. He offered another $100 off but said he had to move it from the furniture and put it on the delivery..so that went from $199 to $299 which wasnt anything off at all..just moved! I argued the point but to no avail. Got the total and I was sitting down and I said why is the price $800 more and Mark says its for the 5 year warranty. I said I don't want that and you didn't even ask me. His whole attitude changed and Jason wasn't happy either..seems that where they make a good chunk of their profit. So I went to the counter to pay Jason and we got ready to leave and Mark comes over and says softly "If you decide you want to to with the warranty, I will give you $300 off!" So we leave and on the drive home I am looking at the receipt and I was charged an extra $300 than the original price. Turned around and went back and I was pretty ticked off at that point! I went to the counter to talk to Jason and he said if you don't take the warranty your furniture price is going up $300 more. What the hell is going on here.. it appears the refusal cut into their bottom line. After all that we took the furniture and after 3 days decided to sent it back since it it was way too much money and not real comfortable. After 5 days calling constantly for my refund, Bobby the manager calls me to confirm the refund and its short $300. He said you don't get back the delivery charge..I went nuts. I told him that Mark told to just take it since I was there and the paperwork was done, you have nothing to lose with the 3 day return policy. He said he would have to look into it and a couple of days later i got my refund for the full amount. I don't know what is happening in that store or what kind of bullshit they are going to respond with but I just wanted people aware and CHECK YOUR AMOUNTS ON YOUR RECEIPT!!! I even filed a dispute with my credit card company to protect myself for whatever came next!
