In my opinion no place was to far to drive and look, and we looked everywhere!! One day I saw a commercial for "Rugs As Art" on tv. It looked very interesting, so off we went to Sarasota. If you are in the market for an area rug let me save you some time and trouble! My hubby and I first went to this store in December to have a look and see what it was all about. I loved what I saw and went back again & again! They had sooooo many area rugs I was now getting confused!!! When we narrowed it down I told the lovely, patient gentleman Andy who was helping us that I had to go home to measure. I had to measure to make sure I ordered correctly and I would be back. Andy was kind, very helpful and not pushy at all which we appreciated. We returned and I ordered the very first rug I had originally seen and fallen in love with! They say always go with your first choice and I did. Andy thanked us for returning and for asking for him. He placed my order and just as he said, it arrived 2 weeks later. I had seen this particular rug on our very first visit but it sold, so Andy ordered it for me. Good thing I took pictures of the rug and tag! The two gentlemen that made the delivery were very nice and professional. They brought my new rug in, unrolled it, put it down and picked up the sofa for us and placed it on my new rug. It looks beautiful and really anchors my room. This store has an 18,000 sq ft showroom. I learned from Andy that they will cut and re-finish any rug for you if you need a specific size. They have all price points, all kinds of styles, colors, sizes, and all kinds of patterns. They offer machine made and hand made. They also sell Art and decorative items, but I think they are more if a area rug store. If you see an area rug that you like they will let you take it home to see how it looks! I've never heard of any store telling you to take it home and see how it looks. Rugs As Art says that they are constantly getting in new inventory. I saw to be true after returning a few times.

Delivery was delayed as Ashley said they received only one mattress and had to wait for the second. Once delivery was made it became immediately evident that one mattress was thicker than the other. I was tempted to refuse delivery, but was told by their delivery person that these mattresses, which were shipped rolled up in a box, take up to 24 hours to fully expand. Well, "full expansion" never occurred and one mattress remains thicker than the other. Ashley did nothing until we filed a dispute with the finance company. Ultimately, they have sent a technician to the house twice, and have confirmed, on both inspections, that the mattresses are different heights. Ashley insists that they meet specification and will not correct. This leaves one side of a king size bed higher than the other. Our recommendation is to not buy from Ashley as their quality is questionable, and their customer support is non-existent. Should you elect to proceed with a purchase, please inspect thoroughly on delivery and refuse immediately if there are any problems/defects; otherwise getting your purchase corrected will be very difficult, if at all.

Every time I have shopped here the store has a great layout and is well organized. I especially like to shop the wall decor and I have bought really nice greeting cards and gift items from here before. Check out the furnishings which are sourced from all over. You might find something you were looking for--or discover something you didn't know you wanted or needed! The installer was efficient, on time and pleasant. He moved all the large furniture pieces and put them back--not a scratch! The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was that the installer refused to lay a wood threshhold and hide tv cables under the closet rug. Also the upgraded padding was not installed. With 2 trips back, I got my threshhold (which I bought and stained) and the cables hidden. The padding issue would've meant tearing up the entire 2 rooms of carpet. We agreed on a rebate, but I would've been happier if I'd gotten my upgraded padding as requested. Miscommunications, but still happy with the rooms. Thanks Richards' Warehouse!
