I tried this place for the first time in a while. I brought my son with me. I ordered the tequenos and a beef empanada as my appetizer(s). They were both good. I ordered mango fresca as my drink at it was delicious. I ordered a shrimp arepa for my entree. It wasn't good. I thought it was warm shrimp but it's a cold shrimp salad. This place is usually pretty good but this meal was just okay. read more

My son and I stopped in and the taste was on point at VeneBites. The service was fun and friendly. If they suggest a special take them up on the recommendation. The Venezuelan flag served on the dishes was a great touch. Authentic atmosphere and conversation uplifts the feeling in this place. Next time I'm in Tallahassee I'm stopping in and continuing the journey across the menu. read more

I sat on the inside as it was a bit chilly. But the outside has such cute seating too. The guy at the cash register chose all of our food for us and the recommendations were great! He said they had a live jazz performance stating later that night, but we weren't able to stay for it. I love the fried cheese on the arepa, I've never had one with that combination of ingredients and I was very pleased. The tequeos were the perfect start to the meal. I was splitting everything with my boyfriend, I liked that the steak came in two pieces and the sauce on it was delicious! I enjoyed the berry mojito a lot too! read more

I was planning to take my son and his roommates for a nice dinner out in Tallahassee. I noticed the 4.8 stars and wanted some good food. I was surprised to see that it was counter service- but we all placed our orders and found pleasant table to sit together outside among several plants and cactus. I ordered the vegan option - which was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their arepas made with just the right flavors. Well done, VeneBites! read more

Food is outstanding this place is very special, service feels like family. Oscar and Lida took great care of us. We got the cachapa on special (they don't always have it but if they do it's a must try). Cant say anything but good things about this place, can't wait to come back for more. read more

This place is absolutely amazing, serving up some excellent Venezuelan food and of all places in Tally. Started things off with tequeños...MUST GET with the garlic sauce. Game-changer! Could have eaten a whole tray of those and called it a day, but then came the pabellón, and wow! Close to the way my wife makes it. The shredded beef was so good and also comes with black beans, rice, guacamole and sweet plantains. I also tried a cachito, which is basically the Venezuelan cousin of a ham croissant but with its own delicious twist. Washed it all down with a Polar Beer, because if you're going for the full experience, you do it right. Tiny spot but super friendly people. If you haven't been yet, go. If you have, you're probably already planning your next visit! read more

I was told the Arepa Cochino Frito was good, but honestly that was an understatement. The food was amazing! I stopped in during lunch and asked for a recommendation, and the Arepa Cochino Frito was suggested. I'm glad I listened because the flavor, freshness, and overall quality did not disappoint. If you're unsure what to order, definitely give this dish a try. Great recommendation, great food, and an experience worth coming back for! read more

My husband and I were driving from Central Florida to Panama City Beach and decided to stop here for lunch even though it was a small detour from our route, and thank God we did. The service was beyond excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. The guy at the counter was very helpful, he took the time to explain us the menu, recommend dishes, and tell us about their weekend specials. My husband ordered the churrasco with a tamarind juice, and I got the mini arepas with a passion fruit juice. Everything was honestly 20/10, including the service from all the staff. Would 100% recommend!! read more

As a Venezuelan, this spot is legit. Some items feels a bit overpriced, but it will always be delicious

After reading about this place, we had to go try it out. Well, it exceeded expectations. I tried the steak, and it was outstanding. So good we went back again to experience this place. My wife loved her arepas dish. Great ambiance and service. If you want to try something different and authentic, this is the place. read more

My arepas were fantastic. Good sauce too. Fast. Friendly. They made a small mistake but I was fine with it. It's only not 5 stars because I just don't know if I'll be back at $13 per one cheese arepas. read more

Our first time here and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

The food here was amazing! I'm so glad I stopped by. The mango tasted so good in the Arepa Llanera. And the churros were delicious and could easily be shared. The staff was also really friendly. I had no idea what to order and they gave some great recommendations with my interests in mind. read more

Hard to find anything negative here. People are nice, the food tastes very fresh, and the space is super clean. This was our first visit and we started our meal with the rice count order of Tequeños. Pretty interesting flavors and textures for a person always used to fried mozzarella sticks. We really enjoyed them. The Mrs. ordered the "Arepa de Pabellon" which has shredded beef, Black beans, optional cheese, and fried plantains. Aside from it being huge and hard to eat by hand, we both thought it was okay excellent. I ordered the "Arepa Vegana" which is their vegetarian option. This has black beans, fried plantains, sliced avocado, and I added the optional cheese. Very, very good for a meat free sandwich. We'll definitely come back and try. Ore things...we may even bring the kids! read more

Oftentimes in Tallahassee, it is hard to find Non-American cuisines that are authentic, but Venebites is a winner in my book! FOOD/DRINKS: The menu has a variety of arepas to choose from and they are staple foods in the Venezuelan culture. They also have empanadas, tequeños, cachitos, sancochos and paella but I always get the Arepas because they are so good and so filling! The tequeños are also a great appetizer. My kids love them! I usually get a passion fruit juice with my order but they have other Venezuelan drink options and coffee. SERVICE: Family oriented. Friendly. Welcoming. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is small with a capacity of 35 but there is also outside seating. The environment has lovely latin music playing in the background and is beautifully decorated yet still cozy. I don't even feel like I am in Tallahassee when I am there. The atmosphere is very cultural. LOCATION: Private parking lot with limited parking. PROs- Food quality (authentic!) and price CONs-Depending on when you go, it might be hard to find parking. read more

Very good, just like the several great Venezuela arepa places loved in Miami, the real thing. Favorite is the vegetarian with maduros, black beans and avocado and the beef with maduros and avocado. Made to order, cute hole in the wall and friendly staff. read more

Vene Bites is a dope local spot I highly recommend if you're in Tallahassee. I got the arepa and it was fire--crispy, flavorful, and made fresh. The vibe inside was so sick, super welcoming and full of energy. The kitchen setup was really cool and clean, and they even had karaoke going which made the whole place feel alive. It seemed like everyone working there was family--not by blood, but by heart. Easily one of the best hidden gems in town. read more

So good and will 100% return soon! The staff is so friendly and helpful. They have a nice sized indoor seating area as well as a cute patio out front. You order and pay at the register and they bring your food to your table. We tried two arepas, llanera and rumbera, tostones, and platanos and it was all seriously delicious! The Arepas are packed full of so much goodness, aka stuffed. We also got the salsa picante and verde because I'm a sauce queen and they were both great as well. The arepa itself is amazing, like I want to eat just the arepa. Can't wait to return! read more

My friend and I went there on July 13. The young man at the counter helped us with our orders with a smile and such eagerness to make sure we were happy. My friend has allergies and he made sure the food she chose was ok. He checked on us while we were there. The inside is quaint and welcoming. The food is delicious and very good portions. Did I mention they have Flan??? Try it out! You won't leave disappointed or hungry!. read more

Wonderful, wonderful food the taste were just bursting in my mouth. Plantains were just to die for the women were beautiful that cooked it. They brought it out to you a nice little spot. You can sit outside under your awning, cold beer, sea number of other dishes in there, but their specialty is our eras and they come in three different Only and then the rest are chicken and beef and pork different sauces preparation great food we had flan for dessert and just left there with the beam on our face. It was just wonderful really really cool. You could park somewhere and walk there from Midtown it's near Whataburger anyway, it's worth it. The food is is great. I can't wait till we go back again. Lovely Venezuelan restaurant in Tallahassee recommended by a friend who went to school at FSU. The servers and chefs were all so welcoming and kind! The ordering style here is ordering at the counter then waiting at the table, where the servers will bring the food out to you. When we entered, we were immediately greeted by one of the chefs and he kindly made a table for us, since we did have a larger party of 11. It was a later lunch on Sunday, and not too busy (fortunately for us). We all ordered at the counter and sat down. I ordered the Arepa de Carne Molida (ground beef) with an order of 5 tequenos (their Venezuelan version of fried cheese sticks...ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE!!!) to share with a friend. The food came out in less than 10 minutes or so. THE TEQUENOS WERE SO AMAZING..!!!!! 10 OUT OF 10. NEEDED SECONDS. They came out so HOT & fresh and had such amazing flavor, plus the sauce that came with it was also SO AMAZING. I need more of these in my life. My arepa de carne molida was also very tasty and cheesy, and quite sizeable! I love how much meat and cheese is in each arepa-- these are so filling!! I couldn't finish it with the side of tequenos I ordered haha. The arepa also comes with the same sauce and I was nearly licking that sauce cup clean. Wouldn't be a complete meal without a drink to pair, so I ordered the jugo de mango (mango juice) and it was splendidly refreshing. More of a blended juice than straight juice. Enjoyed the different type of mango taste than the typical Asian mango. Overall, awesome experience at VeneBites, from the awesome service to the mouthwateringly delicious food. The ambiance is casual and there is parking in front of the store (although I imagine it gets hard to park during busier peak meal hours). Will visit again when in-town! read more

Heard about this place a lot and decided to give it a try. Food is fine but a wrap (no sides), an Arepa (no sides), fried cheese (3 small strips), 2 sauces (yes that's extra too) and a drink is $55 after tax pre- tip. Not sure if it's the rent or cost of plantains that's the cause of these prices? The food as I said was fine but not mind blowing. The meat was on par with solid Mexican places (think Surcheros) but it wasn't that unique in flavor and definitely not worth the 35% extra cost. read more

Phenomenal food and such a cool restaurant! Staff was helpful, kind, and quick. Lovely place to grab a quick bite!

WOWZA. I will definitely be returning to VeneBites. Family owned and operated with incredibly friendly service! All the food fresh and super flavorful and the serving sizes are massive. I made two meals out of mine. What we ordered: Tequeños - order of 5, super yummy cheese sticks Platanos - excellent! And a lot for what's considered a side. Patacón - this was so much food, and full of flavors! I love the way they cooked the ground beef. And their green sauce is awesome. I would put that on anything. Arepa de Pablleon - GIANT. So delicious. We also ordered a juice and it was great! Our entire group will coming back soon. read more

So we've never had Venezuelan food but heard good things so we decided to give it a shot. The owners are very friendly and helpful in helping us order. We started with Tacquenos, which are mozzarella cheese sticks wrapped by a bread dough and fried. They were really good! A friend who came with us said they were just like she grew up with back home. The garlic dip it came with was very tasty. We each ordered Arepas - they are a cornbread kind of like a pita and filled with different meets and things. One of them had beef, black beans, a white cheese and plantains. It was quite tasty. Another was filled with beef, cheese and black beans and the final one had pulled pork, cheese and black beans. It was a different experience and a tasty one at that!! read more

Excellent food and service. Enjoyed everything we got. Best thing to order is the taqueria!

A great authentic local restaurant! Don't pass on this place! Despite my attempts to stay up on the best new restaurants in Tally, VeneBites snuck past me... until now! Although I've previously tried arepas, even in Tallahassee, these were on an entirely different level. I went with the Arepa de Pabellon and a mango juice and was completely blown away by the amazing flavors and the huge quantity of food. Seriously, as much as I wanted to stay handheld with the arepa, I had to resort to a fork and knife with the overflowing amount of food. I also couldn't pass up on a slice of Torta Tres Leches for dessert, which was one of the best I've ever had. Overall, I'm a bit sad to have only discovered VeneBites this late into my time in Tally, but I'm glad to see they're keeping the authentic, delicious food scene alive here! Keep up the great work! read more

I finally made it at VeneBites at the direction of multiple friends. We placed a large to-go order and had a feast at home. I ordered a refreshing Jugo de Mango (tasted like a viscous mango/sugar/water blended agua fresca) for the drive. I can see myself going to Venebites between mealtimes and ordering that drink... Venebites prides itself on its gluten-free baked arepas (cornmeal pockets) which are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, but there are other menu items that really shine here. After the stranger in line before me passionately told me about her favorite menu items, I decided to order the Arepa Reina Pepiada, an arepa stuffed with shredded chicken breast mixed with a mayo-based avocado paste, avocado chunks, and white cheddar. Everything tasted fresh and the arepa itself had a rich corn flavor. My husband ordered the Arepa Pelua, an arepa stuffed with shredded beef and white cheddar. The shredded beef was packed with fatty flavors. I'll probably veer towards the beef next time! The tequeños were delightful - think fried cheese sticks in a wrapped pastry crust served with their signature green garlic dipping sauce. Will order again. The black beans were well-seasoned with a hearty garlic flavor. Some of the best I've had in town. The long grain white rice was as-expected. I asked the cashier what I should order for dessert and without skipping a beat, she suggested the Tres Leches (Three Milks) Cake, a sponge cake soaked in three different kinds of milk, topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It was delightful!! It had the flavor of a gourmet Little Debbie's Christmas Tree Cake and I mean that in the best way. Will visit again soon. read more

I had the BEST lunch here!! All of their food is made from scratch right when you order, and you can really taste the difference. I got the Arepas de Pabellon, which is a a Venezuelan corn meal pocket stuffed with shredded beef, plantains, and black beans. It was AMAZING ! So delicious, and awesome portion size. I also tried the fresh mango juice. Never had it before and can't wait to have it again. The owners were warm and friendly, and provided stellar customer service.
