They were superb. We also had house wine, and it was really good. Now, the bad: the hostess/waitress was so unfriendly I wondered if there was actually something wrong with her (either she was having a tremendously bad day or she hates her job or she's a misanthrope?) But we stayed because the restaurant was recommended and the food really was excellent. The service was fine but she never warmed up, even though we tried to be really nice. Then we went to pay, and she ran our credit card over and over again but couldn't get a phone line. This went on for about ten minutes. We didn't have enough cash to pay, and we told her that. She just shrugged her shoulders, as if to say it was not her problem. It appeared we would be there all night unless we were willing to go get cash. Finally my husband gave in and went to get cash. This seemed unfair to me. It wasn't our fault. I think the restaurant should have absorbed the cost if they couldn't process our card. If she'd been nice AT ALL, this would have been easier to bear, but she was seriously rude from the first minute to the last.

I asked if they had soy milk and luckily they did, which I always appreciate (I'm a cappuccino loving vegan). I had a cappucino di soia and my friend had a cioccolata calda. My drink was quite good and smooth, but it could have been a bit stronger for my taste. The cioccolata calda impressed us both, it was a dark brown, undiluted colour and my friend said it tasted like pure, rich melted chocolate. Although we didn't try any of the food offered, the quality of their hot drinks made us very happy and the ambiance and mood of the café was very pleasant and welcoming!

We were there for a cup of coffee: ten minutes max. My purse was at my feet. It would have required someone to bend over and extricate it deftly. When we called the cell phone company, the phone had already had the locater disabled. These guys are Pros and they act very brazenly and quickly. I'd recommend not patronizing the restaurant, but if you go keep a very close eye on your possessions.
