Me and a friend had just landed on the island and were exploring the area. We saw one of the shop's…read morebikes posted up on the sidewalk and decided to give it a go. We were greeted by Rob who got us set up and ready to roll in a snap. The rates are SUPER reasonable. The bikes are comfortable, surprisingly torquey, and handle great. Hands down the best bang for your buck I've seen in a long time. Will definitely rent again when I'm back on the island (especially if they get those mantis tours set up )

Probably a 4 1/2 star review! We just returned from a cruise to Kona. I had rented bikes ahead of…read moretime for $75 an hour. When we got to the store the sign said that bikes were being rented for $40 an hour (I had rented 4 bikes for four hours). I realized that I could have cancelled the reservation and rebooked at that moment, but didn't because our girls were anxious to get started to ride. The bikes themselves were great and the owner was nice to work with to help us get the bikes out the door. When we returned I asked the worker (who wasn't the same man that we had rented from) if they would honor the price on the chalk board. He said that he was unable to do that. I wrote to the owner and he said that the pricing is dynamic and that we had the price that we had rented in advance with so no refund or price break for us. I understand that stance, but it feels like a bit of a bummer and not super customer relations, soooooo my recommendation? Maybe rent in advance, but keep an eye out for the price on the day that you go. If the price is lower than you rented at, cancel and rebook on the spot. Let my expensive mistake be a warning for you! The ride from Kona was good but you are on the road with some bigger cars as you leave town, in general it isn't too scary, but you will be sharing the road with some cars (helmets included and some of the bikes that we rented had a nice basket/box in the back to store a towel or backpack).

I rented a bike from Donnie at Maui Cyclery on my recent vacation. From the minute I contacted…read moreDonnie, even prior to arrival, he was super friendly and helpful. He set me up with the perfect Felt road bike to ride up the Haleakala and enjoy 50-80 mile rides every day. He gave me tips for routes, places to go and an amazing massage therapist. Everyone in his shop is friendly and professional. I highly recommend his shop, whether you just want to take a casual bike tour or if you're a competitive cyclist. The location is great too. The shop is at the base of the Haleakala and there are a zillion gorgeous routes to ride. I will definitely be back!

This correspondence serves as formal notice regarding the electric bicycle we purchased from your…read morecompany approximately six months ago, shortly before the Christmas holiday, for our son. Within the first three weeks of ownership, the bicycle became inoperable due to what we believe to be a manufacturing defect. We promptly returned the bicycle to your service department for warranty repair. At that time, we were informed that a replacement part had been ordered and would resolve the issue. We have since been advised that the part was ordered approximately five months ago. To date--six months after our initial purchase--the bicycle remains unrepaired and unusable. During this period, your company has failed to provide timely updates or proactive communication. We have been required to initiate all follow-up inquiries ourselves, and our repeated requests for resolution, including a refund, have not been adequately addressed. The prolonged delay in repair, lack of communication, and failure to provide a functional product constitute a substantial inconvenience and a failure to honor the warranty in a commercially reasonable timeframe. Our son has been deprived of the use of the bicycle for the vast majority of the time since purchase. Accordingly, we hereby formally demand a full refund of the purchase price. If this matter is not resolved promptly, we will consider pursuing all remedies available to us under applicable consumer protection and warranty laws. We trust that your company will act in good faith to resolve this matter without further delay.
