I LIKE THE LOCALS SO MUCH I DONT WANT THEM GETTING ILL OVER UNHYGIENIC-OUT OF DATE-RECYCLED FOOD I DIDNT WANT TO BE APART OF THEY DESERVE BETTER!!!!!owner of the spice of India first let me tell you about my experience of working in the Spice of India Restaurant located in Ramsey Isle of Man.. The state of the Kitchen is unacceptable most of the tiles are missing from the walls, so the bricks are exposed, the ceiling has collapsed next to the tandoori oven with cobwebs dangling down on the nan breads, so much filthy grease the owner recycles all the left over food from the dining in customers!! He often swears at the customer in the kitchen for ordering less!!! If you look at the owners reply's on customers reviews you will know what I mean?? The poppadoms tray is so greasy never been washed when I asked him about the trays he replies customers love the taste from them (WHAT) he also recycled all the dips!! He uses out of date products!! If you dining in please look underneath all the table cloths wen u get a chance?? They serve glass of coke out of a can and charges £1.80 on the main miss leading information charges for lamb tikka serves standard cooked beef. Not to mention he often tells the waiters to add additional prices extra few £ on the sly (stealing customers money) they have a Banquet on Wednesday and Sundays using all the left overs from the previous weeks!!!! After reading this review and you do decide to go and visit the Restaurant PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ask to have a little look In the kitchen before you order make sure you have your cameras ready ?? If you manage to go walk straight through and look on the far left wall and the ceiling and review on your trip!! Finally I AM SO SORRY TO THE LOCALS THAT I LEFT IT SO LATE TO ADDRESS YOU ALL!!! Please share this information and EXPOSE THIS UNHYGIENIC RESTAURANT.....

During our trip to Isle of Man, we tried this place. We were thrilled to know that they can deliver…read moreat our hotel for one extra pound as a delivery charge. Food was brought by the guy in a container so that it remains hot in till delivery. I ordered balti paneer tikka with pilaf and my wife ordered vegetable thali. Both dishes turned out super good. As we were exhausted burgers, fish and chips, Indian food touched our taste buds to the depth. Quantity of the food is good enough. That gives them 4 star. I am taking away one star - for customer satisfaction reasons. As we were staying in a hotel, I specifically asked the person taking my order to put cutlery and some disposable dishes (if possible). He promised cutlery but to my surprise we found nothing. Our hotel staff was not courteous enough to provide us on so we ended up eating with our hands (I hated it). This shows how UNIMPORTANT my request was for this place. May be things would have been different if we would have dined in. Now the next day.... My wife suggested - we are a tourist at this place, we liked the place we should go for a dinner at the same place rather than trying some other Indian restaurant (there are in total 12 in this small island). We called the restaurant and they courteously guided us towards their address (I didn't have internet on my phone). The owner is from Bangladesh and has good customer care skills, he interacts and inquire for very simple things even before you request them - like an extra glass of water or extra napkin. Attention to detail from the entire crew was the key and hence my perception got altered in a positive direction for this restaurant. I ordered chicken biryani - they serve it with an omelette which is a little different than other Indian places I have dined at. Wife ordered non-veg thali which had chicken curry, lamb and sea food. Everything here was very very good and yummy. We would highly recommend. One of their yellow chutney is super awesome !! Must try. Great place and great people !!!!!!

Granted we were the only table for the first 45 minutes. I've definitely had better Indian food. We ordered a few different food items and chai teas, it was served quickly and the chutney and tamarind sauces were quite tasty. Overall everything was good.

I'll start with the good. Very nice dining room, spacious and well appointed. Beautiful views of…read morethe waterfront. The servers were very friendly and generally attentive (until it came time to pay the bill and we eventually had to go out to the bar). The pappadams were excellent. Paddadams are pappadams but it came with five very generous chutnies and sauces and they all had unique and complex flavors. As someone else mentioned, they do not have an alcohol license but the fresh juices were a pleasant surprise. I had an apple juice which tasted like a fresh apple in the glass. Should have stopped there as things started going downhill. For starter we had a crab wrapped in pastry that was disappointing, not much flavor and a small portion. The cheese kebab (paneer ka tikka) was better but again small portion size. The mains brought the review down another star. Everything was extremely bland. Chicken marsala had very little flavor. A lamb dish, silver kaliya, sounded great and did have a unique flavor (I believe cardamon), but very little lamb and although unique the flavor wasn't great. We also had the spicy tandoori lamb chops but the lamb was over cooked and the spicy sauce (which was so spicy was served on the side) actually was not at all spicy and had virtually no flavor. There are some great Indian options on the island and unfortunately I can't say Gandhi is one of them.

The food is fabulous, good sized portions and cooked to perfection; if there is anything on the menu you are not sure about the staff are on hand to explain and advise. Really can't fault them at all. We have also made use of the home delivery service and again the food was delivered on time and piping hot. Top marks from me and our group

First of all the first word that comes to mind is delicious. I ordered a strawberry yogurt shake,…read morewhich was very good. Very watery creamy and delightful. If you don't like yogurt, you may not enjoy it though. It is sweet. Personally I ordered the lamb chops and the chips as a side dish. I enjoyed the lamb chops although they were pretty chewy I didn't enjoy that it got stuck in my teeth a lot and so that's why I'm not gonna give this a five star for my personal experience because it was kind of hard to eat it, but that might be a personal struggle, I enjoyed the chips though. My sister got the chicken tikka. She said she enjoyed it and the sauce was very good. My brother, the vegan, had his face filled with a great big smile when he discovered all of the vegan options. There was a terrific amount of sides and main dishes for vegan and vegetarian guests. He enjoyed the mushroom Bharja. My family also ordered the garlic, naan bread and really enjoyed it. My mother got the chicken tikka with coconut rice. The coconut rice was slightly hard, but still tasted really good. The chicken tikka was delicious with the sauce on the side. It also comes with a little bit of salad. It was a really good dish. My father ordered a pot full of special seasoned rice with prawns and it was so yummy. Overall sounds like everybody had a good experience and was very full after the meal maybe too full. But man, the service was amazing and they were so kind to us very patient friendly and kind to tourists like us. I really enjoyed my experience here and at the Isle of Man and I hope that this review helps somebody it's a decent spot so maybe check it out.

Good wine selections and the cocktails looked interesting also, even though we didn't try any. The restaurant doesn't have fancy decor, but don't let that fool you.
