What a great brunch spot. I had breakfast at The Fly Trap with my parents last week, and it was a…read moretreat. It's got retro charm, great service, and a menu that is both classic and creative. What made it a great meal was that every food item was just so well prepared. I had their Green Eggs and Ham (poblano pesto and jack cheese scrambled eggs served with seared ham, spuds, and toast). My parents both ordered the Forager Rumble (mushrooms, caramelized onions, smoked gouda, and greens scrambled with eggs, served with spuds and toast), but my mom veganized it (with tofu and no cheese) and my stepdad egg white-d it. They make everything in house, down to their jams (the jam of the day was strawberry basil) and the hot sauces (they offer a range from mild to hot). I don't normally eat much of the toast served with breakfast plates, but with jam that good!? I ate that (well-buttered) toast! My green eggs and ham was a treat - retro, fun, and delicious. We also enjoyed a few cups of coffee each. On top of the great food, the service was great. The friendliest. This is just a charming spot for breakfast. I'd love to return!

It's not the place to go if you're expecting something upscale, but it's definitely the place if you're looking for something unique and full of personality. We loved the selection of hot sauces and the variety of drinks. Even the salt and pepper shakers at each table were different. Ours were shaped like s'mores, which was a fun touch. I ordered the huevos rancheros and added chorizo. The flavors were good, but my only complaint was that it came out at room temperature rather than hot. I also would have loved to see it served on a corn tortilla, which would have made it feel a bit more traditional. My friend really enjoyed the breakfast burrito. Overall, I'd absolutely come back. Our waitress was friendly, the service was great, and it was a really pleasant experience.

Now the negatives: the DJ music and everyone's talking over it made it almost impossible for us to have a conversation and spoiled the experience. And this was on a Tuesday, when one would not be expecting this atmosphere. The automatic gratuity (without notice) always rubs me the wrong way (and we normally tip 25%!). The required automatic valet charge of $12 (and "tips welcomed"!) is outrageous. The valet even took my $20 without offering to give change (until I asked). I'm sorry, but the negatives will keep me from returning anytime soon.

So I have to say that driving to this place makes you feel like you're in the wrong area but it's…read moreexactly where it says it is. The inside of this place looks amazing and the outside patio is even nicer, this is a very romantic looking restaurant. We went here for my wife's birthday and thought I would treat her to a nice restaurant for dinner and that's exactly what it was. Now the way their ordering process goes is a little confusing, I don't know if it was our waitress or it's just how things go but we ordered our drinks and then after they came Out with our drinks then they asked if we wanted an appetizer then after that came out they asked if we wanted a meal, so like I said I don't know if that's how they do it or it was just our waitress. So we ordered our drinks and I had a Smoked Old Fashioned, anywhere I go if I see that cocktail on the menu I order it, when it came out they had the smoke infuser on it and when they took it off the smoke just bellowed out, it tasted amazing, I have to say that it was a really good old fashioned. For an appetizer I had the Caesar Salad which tasted fresh, crunchy and just refreshing, the cheese was delicious and the dressing was really good. Next I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken added and it was very delicious, the noodles were soft, the chicken was delectable and the sauce was very flavorful. Everything from the ambience to the food here was flawless with the exception of some older gentleman that didn't stop talking the WHOLE time we were there, nothing we could do about that but everything was perfect and I would love to come back and try other meals. So a few things to point out is they offer valet parking for $12, they offer brunch & Breakfast every Saturday & Sunday and on the bill they add Gratuity (20%) on there already just so you know before heading there, most people freak out about not knowing this and I am here to tell you it is added, however, the food was worth every bit of it.
