I drove around and around looking for it. Either it's not there anymore or google maps and apple maps are very very wrong. Look what I ended up seeing in that neighborhood though-

Yes! $15 for a tasty dinner. One of the best dinners I had here…read more A dark street, I was the only white person there, I felt a little out of place but I was around locals eating good food so I know I was in the right place!!! I got 2 plates for $30 and it's so much quality food. Macaroni and cheese came out fresh and it was soooooo good. Major hit. The wings both were so good as well as the stewed chicken. The fungi was also so fun and delicious. Tastes like thicker grits.

In a place where highly priced restaurant dot the island, The Chicken Fry is a great spot to pick up lunch and dinner (no tables) and fill your beach/work hunger. We had 3 big plate orders of stewed chicken, white rice, and yellow plantains, also comes with a side of beans. The chicken was moist and juicy especially with the savory sauce it was cooked with, the rice wasn't dry, the plantains ripe and well cooked, and the beans were seasoned and spiced just right. Service was friendly, fast even with the constant influx of people coming in. Fresh food was coming from the kitchen even by 745pm. The interior is simple, no frills, and well lit. We parked our car on the street and it took us less than 10 min to get our order. The road may seem sketchy to outsiders especially at nighttime but we had no problems finding the place. Would come back to try more of their food and would recommend! Small plates are around $8-9, and big plates start from around $12. Our big plate with the stewed chicken. Rice, plantains and a side of beans were $12 each. Oxtail big plate is $18 . Cash and credit cards accepted.

Food was fresh, everything hand crafted with such simple ingredients, yet incredible complex and delightful flavors. If I could eat here every day, I would! Alas, we live 4000+ miles away. But when we come back to St Thomas (and we will), Mafolie Restaurant will be our first stop! Excellent service with Toovin (top notch), what a delightful staff! Thank you Simone! A++++++. 100 of 10 stars, if that were possible. We'll be back!

She was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the service overall was exceptional. We started with the Virgin Islands crab cakes. Two flat crab cakes, packed with real lump crab meat. Moist, flavorful, and not stuffed with filler. They came with a sauce that had this cinnamon apple ketchup vibe to it which sounds odd but somehow worked. I was skeptical at first, but I ended up loving it. For the main course, we had the Filet Mignon ($68). The menu mentioned that it was served with honey spiced asparagus but instead came with carrots. It also came with mashed potatoes and a coconut green peppercorn sauce. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and they delivered on that. We also tried the Whole Snapper for $55. It was deep fried and served with peas and rice and carrots. Packed with flavor and very crispy. For drinks, I got the Golden Hour Martini $16. Slightly sweet, citrusy, and refreshing. Easy to sip while watching the sun set over the island. Mafolie is on the pricier side and I do recommend making a reservation prior. But between the view, the quality of the food, and the service, you are paying for the full experience. If you're in St. Thomas and want a memorable dinner with a view that actually lives up to the hype, Mafolie delivers.

We made a reservation, but honestly it didn't seem totally necessary when we went. From the moment we sat down, the staff was on top of everything and so friendly. You could tell they really care about the experience, and everything flowed perfectly without feeling rushed. For drinks, we ordered the Vessup and the Carib and both were so good. The Vessup especially stood out, the cream on top was so smooth and delicious and just made the whole drink. They brought out fresh bread to start and it was so good (always a win in my book). For dinner, we went with the lobster with potato and broccolini and it was incredible. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were just on point. Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, and service, this was easily one of our favorite dinners on the trip. Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're looking for something a little nicer but still with that island feel.

Every option is healthy and not super drenched in oil or sauces to make it edible. The curry roti and friend cauli were on point. Roti especially was SO unique and fresh tasting, I craved it multiple times after finishing. I also loved the green sauce but was so disappointed that the Caribbean aioli and jerk sauce on the menu were unavailable when we visited! In my opinion the "bowl" wasn't worth it cost wise because a lot of the toppings were scarce (only a small slice of avocado or a few peppers) and the second time I visited toppings were straight up missing. Because the flavors are so on point I overlooked those small things and came back for more 5 star food! Recommend for any casual meal if you're looking for a unique spot
