Oh no! Why did y'all move from being by the interstate?!! We brought every animal, several--our 5 dogs & a chicken too, to y'all because of quick access via i-275 but your new location way up in Carrollwood is too far from the interstate and will limit many people's access to get to you now...especially with the traffic on Dale Mabry all the way up in Carrollwood. Good luck y'all.

Scared for my puppy, I took my three month old Lucy to VEG ER for Pets. The care, professionalism and love she was given there left me speechless. Dr. Marissa Reber was the veterinary doctor every pet owner can dream of. Nurse Jasmine was all love and care. The entire team, busy with numerous pets under their care, were doing their job with confidence, which made me feel nothing bad could happen with such excellent care. After 24 hours, we went back for a follow-up tests and treatment. Dr. Simon Beshir took care of my puppy. The two nurses who were treating Lucy were so attentive, my puppy was wagging her tail while injected and given fluids. Thank you for taking care of my precious puppy!

My sweet Moe

This is my 3rd time coming to VEG for a pet emergency. I love that you get to comfort your pet through the entire process. My most recent visit was to help my sweet elderly Moe pass peacefully. I was so distraught but everyone was so kind and so comforting not only to me but to Moe. Every interaction I have had with them has been 5 star. So grateful for VEG.

The staples will stay in for about a week then we'll go back and see how he's doing

The staff here are super friendly, I ended up going in two separate time during this week and both times the doctor and nurses that were taking care of my baby Barney were very informative and helpful in explaining what was needed for his wound care and medication. The second time we came in they had pulled up our information as we called before arriving, so they knew who we were and what we needed as soon as we walked in the door. The prices are more reasonable than some bother emergency vets in the area and I'm super happy!

This is Teddy after being sent to another ER vet for ultrasound

We had to take our dog Teddy to VEG. It was a Sunday and they were very busy. There were critical patients that needed care first but the staff spoke with us as soon as we arrived and took Teddy's info. He was seen by briefly by a vet for evaluation for treatment. We were given a plan for treatment with an estimate. The staff spoke with us during our stay. They were awesome. Although it took time we were very pleased with their care!! Highly recommend!! Very professional!

Two years later in the early morning, Pearson was poisoned by a Bofu frog (aka Cane toad) and I took him there because they were the closest to my home. Again, they would not allow me to stay with my dog while they assessed him and treated him. They came back to the waiting room with good news - the anti-venom medication appeared to be working and they suggested he stay the night for observation (estimated cost 3k). I asked to see him and they would not allow it. I then opted to euthanize him, so they brought him to me in a private room. Their report of his improvement was a lie. He was in the exact same condition that he was when I rushed him in - eyes rolled back in his head, seized up body and labored breathing. It was obvious that he was not going to survive and to keep him alive one second longer was only prolonging his suffering. How dare they do that to him!!! I will never go back there! Thank God that VEG opened a new facility on N Dale Mabry.

I am so grateful that Blue Pearl Urgent Care was open for my cat. She was straining to use the…read morelitter box and had drops of bloody urine coming out on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I was not about to wait until Monday morning to find out if my regular vet could see her. The Urgent Care staff and Dr Mango were so very welcoming and helpful. Really a godsend. They did not push unnecessary treatments but prescribed the appropriate meds for a UTI which included an antibiotic, prazosin for the spasms and gabapentin for pain. The cost was about $400 including the three meds which was very reasonable. With six cats and a dog I am very aware of what things cost at veterinary clinics. Had urgent care not been open My only option would have been to go to the emergency vet clinic which would have been multiple times the cost. With Kiara starting to feel much better by Monday I was able to go to work confident that she would be okay. I would encourage anyone who cannot wait for their regular vet to go to Blue Pearl Urgent Care. I'm so happy I found them and will not hesitate to go again if necessary.

My pup had a little incident when running after a cat in the backyard and ended up tearing his CCL…read more Initially, we were going to do the surgery with his primary care, but because of some concerns on preop lab work, we went to see internal medicine at BluePearl. For peace of mind during and after the operation, we also stuck with BluePearl for his orthopedic surgery. I have seen and heard comments about it being expensive, and while it is pricier than his primary care, I do believe that in a sense, you get what you pay for. The staff at BluePearl are extremely knowledgeable and doctors are board certified in their respective specialty areas (or residents working to become specialized in that area, but still supervised by someone who is board certified). Even the residents and the technicians are able to handle most questions and are very effective at communicating. I like to have all the information possible, so I ask A LOT of questions. I never once felt like they were annoyed with me, just that they honestly wanted to make sure I was confident in my decision for care for my dog. The doctors both sat down with me and spent quite a bit of time answering questions and going over the different options, as well as going as far to explain the function of different body parts and what might be causing the issue on his lab work, for example. I do also appreciate that they give an estimate up front, which includes the cost of follow up visits and rechecks after the surgery. Even though there was a complication related to a tool used in the surgery, they were transparent about what happened and discussed moving forward how the issue would be monitored to check if there were any complications for my dog. We're only a few days postop at this point, but so far happy that we went with Dr Ganey (Internal Medicine) and Dr Olson (Orthopedic Surgery)!

This review is directed at Sebastian, he's some sort of front desk supervisor, and those who take…read morepayments. It is def not directed at the providers. I have used Blue Pearl many times in the last 10 years (six or seven times in just the last three months (around $6,000 this go around) for a dog with cancer). I have always made payments by credit card and today was no exception. However, when I looked at my receipt when I got home this afternoon, I saw I was charged a 2% surcharge. I called for an explanation as to why I wasn't informed about this surcharge prior to paying and I was told by the gal who answered the phone that the surcharge went into effect 10 days ago and that there is a little sign on the card terminal stating this change (who really looks at a card terminal other than to accept the total when making a payment, especially when it had only been a couple of weeks since the last time I had made a payment?) and that there are little signs with this info posted around the hospital but she couldn't tell me where. I told her I wanted the surcharge credited back to me. I was then asked to hold, which I did for almost five minutes before the call was disconnected and I was not called back. So, I called again and spoke to a different person. I reiterated what I'd said to the first person I spoke with and she told me her manager was about to get on the phone when I was disconnected and that she was going to place me on hold to talk to this guy (I gather this person overheard her conversation and told her this because she didn't talk to anyone else before she informed me of this). I was then put on hold for several more minutes and when the guy actually got on the phone, he acted as if he had no idea what I was calling about. So, for a third time I explained why I was calling and his excuse was the policy had recently changed. I told him at a bare minimum, every client should be verbally informed by the person accepting a payment that there is now a surcharge for using a credit card and not rely on some random sign to inform clients. He then literally scoffed at me when I told him I'd be leaving a negative review bc of how poorly Blue Pearl (really, him in particular) is handling this new change. Blue Pearl is not some mom and pop shop, so the fact this guy never thought to tell his payment acceptors to inform clients of this change is a blatant oversight that I can only surmise came from his ignorance of the responsibilities of his job and dealing with the public. To his credit, and I give him very little, he said he'd send me a link to make the payment with something other than a credit card. When I asked him whether I could use something like Zelle, Apple Pay or an automatic draft from my bank acct, he said only debit cards are accepted! I was premature giving him any credit because when I went to make the payment an hour after the text was sent, it had expired. The phone has now been ringing for 19 minutes and the message keeps saying that they are experiencing a higher than normal call volume. You'd think at a minimum, a live person would get on the line to confirm there isn't a pet emergency. Thank God, I don't have a pet emergency right now! Fortunately for those of us in Tampa, there are other reputable emergency veterinary clinics. I can highly recommend Veterinary Emergency Clinic (VEG).

At that point, we decided to enroll with Sit & Stay Academy. From what we saw the facility is clean and well-kept. The dogs are in large cages and we did not see "overcrowding" that the others are reporting. From what we saw, the staff are very attentive to the dogs there. Clark is great and definitely know their stuff! Sanchez was there for about 8-9 months with weekly visits/training classes for ourselves. We have had Sanchez home for about 2 months now. He is like a new dog. He does not have any desire to hump the other dogs. He really doesn't want anything to do with them in terms of messing with them. They can all lay beside each other and nothing bad happens. Yes, the training can look a bit rough, but that's because we haven't done training on any of our dogs and it was new to us. The program was definitely worth the money. Sanchez is super obedient now and life is great. Thank you Sit & Stay Academy!!

From 3/3/26 to 3/7/26 my dog stayed at the hotel at Royal Pets Market and Resort Carrollwood. He has IVDD. A disc disease in his back that he has had surgery on in the past following temporary paralysis caused from his disease. He is on permanent restrictions to prevent recurring paralysis. His care includes monthly injections, therapy, and daily medication. The medication helps reduce anxiety from not being home and excitement from other dogs. This anxiety and excitement causes him to behave in a way that could physically injure him. His medication also helps him with pain and reducing inflammation. I requested a "condo" style room spaced far from other boarded pets as I always do when he stays here. I also requested to add on "private play" because he is not allowed around other dogs due to the aforementioned reasons, therefore is restricted from normal daycare. However he still needs enrichment and human interaction (as any animal would) so that is why we specifically request this service. I left him in the care of this facility as I always do. They have always accomodated these special requests and care without issue. When I came back home after picking him up, I was horrified by what I saw. I brought in brand new prescriptions with my dog when I dropped him off. When I looked at his medications, every single pill was still accounted for in the bottles. That means that over the span of 5 days and 4 nights they never once gave my dog his medication. This is a serious health problem and it's negligence. In addition to this, my invoice stated that he had been staying in a "royal chamber" style room. I have never once asked for this type of room. It's the most expensive room because it has a TV in it and it also has its own access to outdoors. I believe they put him in this room so they didn't have to take him out themselves. There was no "private play" listed on the invoice. So they never took him. He had no human interaction the entire time he was there. He was left to go in and out himself. No walking, no playing, no nothing. Pure laziness and neglect. I have tried numerous times to contact them and they refuse to call me back. The employees keep telling me "the manager isn't here", "I don't know when they will be coming in", and "The owner is dealing with issues with her elderly mother." No excuse. Your family is important, well so is mine. I reported it to the BBB and they did not respond to them either. It has now been more than a month since this happened. They clearly don't care. And now this is resulting in a poor Yelp review after numerous attempts to resolve this privately. Please do not bring your pets here if they need medication daily for a condition that's life or death. I'm thankful my dog's life didn't depend on it, but if it did, he would be dead right now. Don't leave your babies lives in the hands of these people. You may never be able to bring them home again if so.
