I was going from brunette to a full head of blonde highlights, my colorist was Terry, and she destroyed my hair completely. This was my first time dying my hair, she told me she used 4 different types of bleach in my head so I didn't know (at the time) that this was BAD. She put me under the hood dryer and left, my nose and eyes were burning so badly from the bleach I could barely breathe, I had to find a different stylist just to ask if I can be done with that thing. As we were looking at my color in the mirror, I tried to ask her nicely why the highlights look "choppy" on the top of my head-- I was NOT happy with them. She basically tried to gaslight me and said that it's supposed to look that way because I wanted highlights?? The highlights were uneven on both sides of my head, and my hair was YELLOW. To top it off, she got bleach stains on my sweatshirt, even though I had a cover on. How do you even manage to do that? Terry was nice/welcoming from the beginning, and I still tipped her 20% because this was my first time and I was clueless. But I NEVER went back after that experience. Could've gotten some sort of reimbursement for my sweatshirt at least because that was plain messed up. If you have darker hair and want to go lighter or blonde, please DO NOT go to Terry.

Due to my previous hair dyes, I was informed it would take multiple sessions but at the very least I would leave with a cohesive even color, unfortunately, that was not the case. I sat at this salon for 5hrs...five hours...my entire head was bleached and this was the result I was left with. Due to my own personal time constraint I was unable to be fit in for a cut/blow dry, nonetheless, I sat at the salon for 5hrs to be left with horrible, dry, damaged, and unevenly colored hair, all at the cost of $300. I contacted the owner, Christy, who had requested for me to return, but considering the circumstances I was hesitant and rightfully so. I chose to go to a different salon to have my hair corrected, and they were heaven sent. In the same 5hrs Salon Norman Dee took to destroy my hair, this other salon not only properly bleached it, but dyed it, applied a hydration treatment, and gave me a cut/blow dry...all within 5hrs. I have waited for a response from Christy for 3 days now, don't expect any sort of compensation/reimbursement even if you paid for a service that was not provided. I was greeted with the warmest smiles and hellos from Betty and Melanie. Betty asked very detailed questions about what I wanted to achieve, assessed the state of my hair, and got to work. She somehow managed to elevate every step of the process with her careful and thoughtful approach. This is the first time in 2.5 decades that I did not walk out of a hair salon with a wet back. Betty put a ton of towels between me and the water when she was washing my hair, she protected the ears from water (something no one has ever done), and did a wonderful trim at the end. The result was so, so good! The perm for my hair length and the trim ended up being $70, but that is a really good price for what I got. I am definitely going to be a regular now. This is my salon. Definitely. Additional particulars: the salon offers a free wifi; you also get $5 off your next appointment for every referral that gets their hair done there from your recommendation. They do hair coloring, wash and set, and a ton of other hair services. They even do the pink/turquoise/purple/etc colors that are so popular right now. The cost, I believe, is $50 +$10 per each fantasy color. Betty is an open-minded contemporary woman who keeps abreast of the newest developments in the hair care industry. Upon messaging Top Cut, they were extremely transparent and said that I should wait to do my hair again (because I previously bleached it a month prior). So, I booked my appointment a month and a half in advanced and waited patiently until the day came. When I got to the salon, I was immediately seated and we discussed what I wanted to. The salon took their time to examine my hair and let me know if my hair is able to withstand going lighter. What won me over is how much time and effort they put into my hair. I loved how they really wanted to make sure that my hair would stay healthy by giving me an olaplex treatment and an oil treatment! They took the time to foil my hair and separate the lighter pieces from the darker pieces (from my prior hair bleaching). I asked for a cool toned balayage, and as you can see from the before and after pictures.. they DELIVERED. After 9 hours of bleaching, washing, treatment and style, I am extremely pleased with the results. The staff is so sweet, always checking to make sure I'm okay.
