Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.
Several years ago, I went to this salon to have my hair dyed from half hot red and half black to bleach blonde. Yes, this does require work, but if a stylist thinks they can't make it happen, they should speak up. After 12 hours, my hair was half orange, half blonde, with brown roots at the top. She told me to come back whenever I want to get it finished because the salon was closing. I didn't come back, I just ended up dying over it a few weeks later.
I decided to go back a few months later for a perm to make my hair curly. I had one before from a different salon and I LOVED it. I decided to give her a second chance because I understood the process of going to blonde from red and black is lengthy. Anyway, I let her know my hair had been bleached a few months before by her in case that would effect the perm. She said that it was fine and it could still be done. When she was through with the perm, my waist length hair was to my ears. She over processed it to the point that it looked like I had dreadlocks. She didn't have me pay for the service, but did request that I buy a deep conditioner from her to fix the damage she caused. I didn't realize how bad it truly was until EVERYONE asked me what the hell happened. People in school and family members thought I was going for a dreadlock look. Yes, it's just hair, but I cried about it for weeks! It took me a year, dozens of deep conditioning treatments, and trims to get rid of all the damage. It took me 5 YEARS to grow my hair back to the way it was.
Now, this happened about 6 years ago. I decided to leave a review now because I didn't use Yelp back then, and I am still paranoid about getting my hair done to this day because of what SHE did. I hope she's gotten better, but beware. There are many BETTER salons out there. read more
