Which was great, but at the same time there seemed to be no solution to my issue other than "give it more time". They were backed up on appts and had me wait 40mins due to their lack of time management. Dr. Bowman was very short rushing the appointment. Felt like a complete waste showing up to this office. Totonelly, one of the finest medical doctors in the Hudson Valley, with over 30 years of experience. In my first visit to Dr. Totonelly an ultrasound was performed on both my legs which helped to identify damaged veins. I was then very well educated by Dr. Totonelly regarding the varicose vein treatment I was to receive to relieve my vascular problems. I was really happy when my Aetna insurance approved the surgery, called Endovenous Ablation. That surgery was done in the office under local anesthetic and no hospitalization was required. It took approximately 45 minutes per leg, which were surgically repaired with a one week interval between the two surgeries. In both instances I was able to walk without any problems the same day of the respective surgeries. Amazingly, within a couple of weeks after the surgeries I STOPPED FEELING burning and annoying pain in my legs. Dr. Totonelly further advised me about cosmetic Laser spider vein treatment and Sclerotherapy to both legs. I received 4 treatment sessions to address my numerous spider veins. I could not believe it, but the treatments resulted in the complete disappearance of huge brown spots on my legs caused by poor blood circulation. From the first encounter with the receptionist we liked the office for their warm welcome and smiley faces. Yey! You can tell they have a good working environment, as it showed. The way the staff communicated with the dr and amongst each other, very calm and respectful. My mom was the patient, I am her care taker and advocate. Ultrasound technician was so polite when performing the ultrasound making mom comfortable. David the technician is so soft spoken and compassionate. Dr. Edelman, I am so grateful for finding you. Had an appointment for eval of varicose vein treatment options, during eval Dr.Jen states that I…read moredidn't have varicose veins but instead spider veins (and treatment wouldn't be covered by insurance) then stated "Let's do an ultrasound to be sure." I was adamant that I would/could note proceed with treatment if it wasn't varicose veins due to the cost. There was an sonographer onsite and the the ultrasound was completed immediately. Indeed I had no varicose veins, only spider veins. My insurance was billed $699 (for the ultrasound) with my portion being $531.73. My issue is that I was painfully clear that cost was a concern, the ultrasound could/should have been ordered outpatient (requiring insurance pre-approval) and/or at the very least there should have been transparency regarding the cost.

Michael was extremely busy but still saw me at very short notice when I told him of my situation. He explained the micro suction procedure to me, it took a matter of minutes and didn't hurt at all. I can't recommend Michael enough, he's brilliant, I will now enjoy my weekend now :)
