I had a total knee replacement and my leg has been swollen. My orthopedic surgeon ruled out DVT so…read morehe referred me to PEDES. I saw Dr. Goldstein. What a kind and personable doctor. He took the time to explain everything and show me images so I would understand what was going on with my leg. He sent me for an MRV at Crown Valley Imaging in Newport Beach. I returned to him and discussed the plan. I never felt rushed or dismissed. His office staff are equally amazing. I wish their office was closer to my home but... I make the drive for that level of care and compassion

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! I…read morehave been to Pedes OC twice trying to see Joe Hewitt. The first time I had to wait for him for 40+ min and I got fed up so they brought in Dr. Goldstein. Then they did an ultrasound and I did a MRI and when I came in, so they could give me the results, I had to wait for Joe Hewitt almost an hour and they couldn't have cared less. I really get irritated when people think that their time is more important than mine or medical offices that just EXPECT patients to wait an hour to see a doctor because the office and the doctor don't have evolved time-management skills. This is very backward and adds unnecessary stress to my day on a Friday when I have so many appointments scheduled. Pedes OC does not respect my time. I work Monday-Thursday and I can schedule all my appointments on a Friday. When I came in here today, I was out at 6:30am and didn't even have breakfast. I was running around non stop and was very upset and hungry by the time I got here at 1pm. A simple consultation should not take 50 min just to talk to the patient. I have important things that I want to do on my day off and it's INFURIATING when a doctor thinks that I have nothing to do and nowhere to be on a Friday. After waiting ONE HOUR for Joe Hewitt, I'm told he won't see me and that I need to come back to see Dr. Goldstein. They made me wait ONE HOUR just to tell me this. Joe didn't even have the common courtesy, consideration nor professionalism to come and say this to me himself. Joe needs to go back to school and learn better time management skills and common courtesy. It's a real shame that after a MD from UCSF and a MBA from USC, that Joe Hewitt STILL doesn't know how to manage his time with patients so that I won't be sitting in the patient room for an hour. The following Monday, I was scheduled to see Dr. Goldstein via telehealth between 4-5pm. I got a voicemail saying he's in a procedure and they'll call me after 5pm when I'm at the gym. THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST PATHETIC AND INCOMPETENT MEDICAL BUSINESS I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING!

I moved from another state and was happy to find an Iranian cardiologist. Unfortunately, my…read moreexperience was very disappointing. On October 2, I had a scheduled appointment at 10:00 a.m. to review my previous test results, but before 9:00 a.m., I became seriously ill and had to call 911 and go to the hospital by ambulance. While in the ambulance, I tried to cancel my appointment out of courtesy but accidentally called the doctor's personal cell phone instead of the office. The office later questioned why I had called her personal number rather than showing any concern about my medical emergency. Since my appointment was only to review previous test results, the doctor could have easily called me to check on my condition and discuss the results. However, no one followed up or offered to reschedule. After a week, I contacted the office myself and was met with a dismissive attitude, although someone eventually listened to my concerns. I expected more compassion, professionalism, and follow-up from a cardiologist. This experience left me deeply disappointed and without confidence in continuing my care at this office.

I was really hesitant at first ,due to the fact of not knowing what the healing process would be,however Dr. Covarrubias and his team players ,explained the healing process, future test and results. I had the Ultra sound - Venus imaging on both legs and toes this afternoon ,i heard the blood flow sounds(during this procedure) ,so i am hoping that all is healthy and well with stents procedure in both lower extremities of my legs. Should you ever need an Outstanding Vascular procedure , I highly recommend OC Vascular & Endovascular Surgery Center, located in Fountain Valley , Ca. In my synopsis Dr. Son Dung and Dr. Covarrubias are one of the Best in Orange County Memorial Care network ,my Genuine thanks to all participants. Thee Counselor

Originally scheduled for angiogram on left leg ordered as "urgent" in June, then cancelled 3 days…read morebefore the procedure because they did not have a heparin substitute in their office. Then rescheduled for the 1st week of July @ UCI-FV because the hospital did have the heparin substitute. Then two days before the surgery after I had arranged transportation and cleared my schedule, they AGAIN cancelled the procedure, giving me a nonsensical excuse about how opening the restricted artery would cause increased vascular edema, I got a second opinion, and was told that the excuse was nonsensical. When confronted they then sent me on a snipe hunt for more tests, then came up with yet a different excuse opposite of the first excuse. This after all insurance authorizations had been obtained. After I insisted proceeding with the procedure that THEY has initially determined was "urgent" months ago, they seem to be unable to coordinate with my clinical pharmacist, even though that information is clearly in my Epic chart, and I had provided that information back in June. I suspect that the issue is that since the procedure requires a more expensive anti-clotting agent than heparin due to my being allergic to heparin, and that they could not perform the issue (and bill for that part) in their center, that the issue was not really about the procedure, but about how much they would be reimbursed for the procedure and the heparin substitute. They were all gung-ho to proceed in June UNTIL they determined that it would require a non-heparin anticoagulant and that the procedure would have to be performed in the hospital instead of their clinic. I work with medical practices - have for more than 30 years. According to my inquiries, the heparin substitute apparently needed is not in short supply, its just much more expensive than heparin. Further, its been more than two months, even if it was back ordered in June, it is not currently on back order according to my inquiries.
