I am grateful that he diagnosed my bicuspid aortic stenosis early on. We watched it for a number of years until it was time to do a valve replacement. He referred me to Dr. Caffarelli, at Hoag Hospital. I had surgery last October. I was fully recovered and by January was doing downhill skiing before this whole Covid epidemic struck. I like the fact that he advocates a whole food plant-based diet which I have been following for the last five years. I highly recommend him.

In the hospital the ER as well as the attending doctors decided to scale back on two of his heart medications because his bp and heart rate were too low. We were told up to follow up with his cardiologist as soon as possible upon release to review meds and adjust dosage. We contacted Dr Sarabis office as soon as he was released. Left messages two days in a row. When the office called back, I relayed what the instructions were and asked if we could do a phone consult or in person so we know what to do. The office told us to wait until our next appt which was in almost three weeks. The only possible way to speak to dr Sarabi earlier is to subscribe to his concierge program for $4900. When I asked her what were we supposed to do for 3 weeks about his medication, she says just to continue as we had in the hospital. She mentioned he could see us the same day if we would pay the $4900. We have always used our blue cross ppo during our dr visits and never come across a situation like this. It gets worse. Yesterday I called back to reschedule with my cardiologist. When I explained that I…read moremissed the initial visit because the office had moved without notifying me, the receptionist immediately became defensive and hostile. Instead of helping me reschedule vital cardiac care, she argued with me and insisted on all the ways they supposedly sent notifications. None of that was true. I scheduled the original visit over the phone, and staff never mentioned an address change. I also checked my email, text messages, and patient portal. There was zero notice anywhere. When a medical office moves, standard practice requires confirming that patients have the correct address. Instead of showing basic professionalism, this staff member took no accountability and treated me like an idiot for not guessing they had relocated. Getting berated by front-desk staff while trying to manage heart issues and physical mobility limits is inexcusable. If this is how they handle patients trying to get care, find a cardiologist somewhere else.
