The food was spectacular. We tried their specialties, starting with the vegetarian 'Casoncelli Nostrani'. These homemade pasta pockets with spinach and sage were completely out of this world. For the main, we had the 'Fiorentina di Manzetta Prussiana Extra' alla brace. I have seldom eaten a better-prepared cut of meat--perfectly grilled and incredibly flavorful. The attentativeness of the service made this experience perfect. A must-visit restaurant!

The service was attentive and generally friendly except for an issue with the wine. They asked if we'd like their insights on a wine and my Italian wife specified that we wanted a local light red (more specific details given). They recommended a Valpolicella Superiore which we ordered. However the bottle they chose had 15.5% alcohol and was just about the opposite of what we asked. Further it tasted off. The waiter kept saying look at the cork, as if that made the wine taste better. Eventually they agreed to change the wine to something much closer to what we requested but the scene they made put a damper on the evening. As for the food. This was also mixed. The ossobuco was very firm, have had this dish numerous times across Italy and this was the firmest and poorest prepared. The Maialino (braised pork) and applesauce was tender and quite good. Contori of asparagus and mixed grilled veggies were well prepared. Prices on the higher side.

Desiderio takes care of that. I ordered a pretty standard lineup of Caprese Salad and a Prosciutto Pizza. Both were rather tasty and affordable (about 21€ for the two combined). We also ordered a bottle of Prosecco for the table, that was the perfect crisp, cool beverage to cut through the Summer heat. Bonus points: Our waiter brought us an iPhone charger! We arrived right after opening hours (19:00 / 7PM), and the restaurant was completely empty, as most italians don't eat until 8 or 9 in the evening we gave the place a shot, and were very happy with the food. I think the staff was a bit intimidated as we only spoke English and very little spanish / french (no italian), but they were nice. I ordred the risotto with seafood (risotto ai frutti di mare), which was amazing, lots and lots of shrimp, different mussels, squid etc. If it's been a while and you're craving a nice seafood dish GO HERE. It's amazing! My friend had the Penne all'arrabbiata, and although the dish isn't amongst my favourites, I had to admit it was pretty darn good. La Lisca is definitely worth a try.
