My shipmate and I stopped by to get some juice as this store was on the way back to our ship tonight. The store's lay out gives the vibe that someone who enjoys vapes wanted to create a chilled out, casual atmosphere where friends could come and hang out.
I would say that may have been its intended direction, but based on my first (and last time) in this location..the only impression I received was that we intruded on a group of people who where hanging out and where bothered by customer's walking in.
Aside from the fact that they spoke at you-"take your hoodie off." No greetings, no asking if you needed help. The most talking they did, where to eachother, and it was bashing customers. A heavy set African American guy was saying how he 'loves' when customers say they know the owner and that he was at a local strip club in Norfolk. Which was i suppose more professional than his comments about how Military personelle are deficient and cannot even count to ten, which i should add is the amount of minutes i stayed in there until the air was so thick with pretentiousness and smug that i could not differentiate it from the vape clouds.
As I was in there, more customers walked in, all where equally ignored. The only amicable person there was a female with a hand tattoo who was genuinely nice and professional which i commend her as being the only positive interaction i had at the store. My work in theory is that the owner wanted to build a lounge where he can hang out at with his friends while he vapes his own juices and occasionally sell some to keep the store afloat while they play their video games and bash customers in front of other customers and put down military personnel. Maybe they dont need a business? Maybe its just a place to make a sale or two while they talk about strip clubs and eat on the counter while having conversations with eachother across a room. Who knows?
I was surprised to see a review said they offered military ten percent off as we showed our CAC (military ID) cards and got no discount. But i suppose seeing as how they had an oil rig for $350 when on the manufactures web site it was listed as a modest $50.00. I suppose over-charging and making a few sales is the company model to stay afloat while doing the least customer service necessary to make the quota. As my friend paid and began having a conversation With the employees he was asked what he's still doing there. They made it obvious they wanted him gone.
My point is, avoid this place. Dont throw your money at a place that makes it known they do not care about your business or you as a customer, that speak at you and not to you. That over charges you so they can continue using their location as a lounge. Your better off ordering online. I now understand why memes about vapers are so thick, its because of people like them who act like their obnoxiously better than you, and regardless of what you do-they will continue to treat people badly while talking badly about you until you walk out or-they god willing move out of Norfolk so a better business can make the community better. read more
