**This review is for the newest Vape HQ location in Cliffside Park, NJ (602 Anderson Ave, Cliffside Park 07010)** I was in NJ visiting a friend and wanted to grab a couple of new flavors for me and my husband in Raleigh, North Carolina. We have many chain vape shops so I had a general idea of what to expect. Most stores have a similar vibe: friendly, courteous staff willing to show off the newest trendy flavors, but with a slight sleazy vibe. Vape HQ didn't have that vibe. The staff was professional, wearing branded gear, extremely knowledgeable, and after an hour of trying around 15-20 flavors, I bought five bottles. The candid explanations of various brand e-liquid differences was helpful, and as a previous cigarette smoker this information guides me with staying away from tobacco. The staff was so approachable and friendly that even my friend purchased her first vape kit. I am now back in NC and wish to order from them, but their website seems to be temporarily down. But as a web designer I know the issues with getting sites up and running, and this does not contribute to my rating. Great staff, clean store, and first time I've ever seen a Voop in the bathroom! The staff are very well informed about the products and help you make an informed choice of your new to vaping. When I walked in, there was a gentleman behind the counter and another guy seemingly helping a couple, showing them batteries and cartos. So I tell the guy behind the counter I need a complete set up, and he says he'll be with me shortly. Cue the other dude to jump in and introduce himself, Scott. In the 7 minutes I interacted with Scott, he directed me to half a dozen flavors, bought me a mouth piece to try his battery, wrongly guessed my age by 10 years, insisted on helping me with my career bc he knows Dr. Oz, queried me about where I live, what I like to do, offered to set me up with a buddy, informed me he was married with kids and mid move, and demanded my contact info (oh yeah - I def gave fake name and number). I was ready to jump out of my skin, I was so uncomfortable. Turns out, Scott is just an over zealous and over aderalled customer. The guy who actually worked there observed the whole thing and never intervened. Not very cool. Once we got down to business, all was well. They don't have "starter kits" of small flavor bottle sets like some other places, but you can taste test everything first. Set up my new piece with Indigo Rye and got out of there faster than you can say Vape HQ. Think I'll be getting refills elsewhere. read more

I decided to try vaping to help me quit smoking but I was totally clueless as to what to get. I didn't want the high nic Juul or Blu and didn't want a heavy, clunky unit. Scott not only listened VERY patiently to my long winded explanation as to why I was there and what I wanted, but he suggested products and flavors that were perfect! Vape Hq use to be my go to vape spot. This is not because of the staff. By far, the people behind the bar are some of the BEST retail associates of any specialty shop I have chosen to patron. If the option were available. I would gladly give them all each five stars for their dedication and passion to their respective job responsibilities. I find my going back to vape only for that lone fact. Yet, their zeal and eagerness to truly provide the customer service is throttled by the apparent fact current owner and upper echelon management are unwilling or uncaring to provide the proper resources, merchandise, or respect that would propel both their staff and business to the next level. For instance, I myself when it comes to vaping preference. I am all about " that menthol". Iced reds apple in 6 MG to be exact. It has been about six weeks since they had it in stock. I willingly gone back every week. Every week, nothing. Well almost nothing. Again, the staff was always willing to do what ever they could to make it right. Which is greatly reduced by an apathetic managerial neglect which is painfully made apparent when a very popular item remains unavailable for more than a month. I currently left with option of going to a competitor. In doing so, it became evident that vape hq business model is primarily based upon the promotion of their house juices. The other company ( good guy vapes) also sells house juices. The differences in their variety, prices and the availability of their stock by far leaves vape hq lacking and wanting. In closing, to submit this review is must select a star rating. This rating reflects my true feelings about the staff. NOT THE OWNER NOR THE UPPER MANAGEMENT. I went to the shop in search of a place with more juice options, and better customer service then... serenity in englewood. It was very dark, and felt awkward walking into a bar setting, still the staff was very friendly. Even though I felt more knowledgeable then they were on some of the mods. However, they did provide me with their options, which I quickly realized was not authentic. Even though they told me they only carry real authentic tanks and mods. Still the reason I will go back...I appreciate the taste test! Not many shops do that, and this type of intuition makes me a return customer for now... :) read more

Amazing place. Regardless, of how far I live I still make it to this place. They are a hundred percent legit and I know I can trust them (no clones or any other BS). Anyways, this is an update to my last review from two-ish yrs ago and the bottom line is that my brother and I are tobacco free. Huge difference. My smell is back and no more burning feeling in my chest when I hit the gym and hit the treadmill. And all the other benefits of not smoking cigarettes. Kinda like the cool people's club- if you know, you know, if you don't, then get the f out. Just kidding- the owners are super helpful and they don't mind if you hang for hours getting information and/ or try their vast array of flavors. I really thought this "trend" would not last very long but during the almost 2 hours I was hanging out there, I saw regulars come in to ask about parts, flavors, batteries, etc. and new people come in and learn about vaping for the first time. Many spoke of being able to quit cigarettes thanks to vaping too. It's a different place to hang out (they play good music and music videos to boot). read more

I recently purchased a vape pen at Vape HQ. 2 days into the purchase my pen started to spit out very hot e-juice into my mouth burning me at times. I took the pen back to Vape HQ. Long story short they refused to exchange the pen blamed it on the manufacturer and kept second guessing me. this has to be the worse vape shop I have ever been to. I was traveling in the area today and my kbox nano had a problem. I looked on Yelp and saw this shop. I went in and it was like I had been a customer for 10 years! The young man behind the counter jumped to help me and figured out it was my coil. He gladly changed it for me. Because of the awesome service I decided to try some juices since they were so nice and I was only going to spend a few $$ on a coil. To my surprise it was 2 for Tuesday!!!! BOOM.....I bought some new flavors and I am extremely happy! I will be telling everyone in this market how pleased I was today and if I am ever back in this area I will be stopping in! Well I had read great reviews about this place and was really excited to try it. My first visit o had a female sales girl who was very sweet and helpful. I spent a lot of time testing different flavors so I was very sure of what I was buying. I went back many times to be sure. This was my first time and was very excited to get into this. I picked 2 flavors after much debating. I told her I was very exciting and they would be getting a lot of business from me. For the first couple of weeks I used only one flavor that I really liked and then I decided to go to my second flavor. The first time I inhaled it I knew it was the wrong flavor from what I had asked for. I got very sick from it. It tasted just like cigarettes and it smelled awful. I just knew it wasn't what I had asked for. Especially because I tried the ones I wanted over and over. I poured it right out and went to bring it back. I explained what happened to whom I assume was the owner and was shocked at his his response. He said it's my word against his word. I explained there was another guy there that they let exchange after he had opened it there and used it and even told him the flavor that it was and again he said it was my word against his word. But I could tell he knew exactly what I was talking about. He would not offer me any compensation if any kind and it was his sales persons fault. Well that little remark and poor handling of of his employees mistake cost him what would have been a really good customer. And a poor review on yelp. I wonder if $25.00 was worth it. I would have been happy with a 10.00 credit towards a new bottle of something else and would have given him the whole bottle back. This is where I think store owners are so dumb. You lose a good customer. Lots of money get a poor review for what have only cost you maybe $10-15. Bad business. I'll never go back. That's for sure. Very nasty. Poor business Dealings. read more
