Called, set up an appointment and the service repairman came . His name was Dean. He called before he was to arrive, he knew exactly how to fix the issue. He gave me a hint on removing the filter. Told me to make rabbit ears on the filter with duck tape. That way I can pull the filter out. I told him I was disappointed the installers did not show me how to remove the filter. After all, I really was not thrilled that I had to have a service call. The best part of this review is that there wasn't any charge, he gave me a pound of hummingbird coffee , a fabulous tip on removing the filter and we shook hands. Very thankful for the rabbit ear tip, everyone should learn this! Very pleased with Hummingbird, the service repairman Dean and my pound of coffee. But the best part... no charge. He was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, was very respectable & informed me to keep track on replacing my filters on my calendar. It definitely made sense for my filter was way to clogged to be doing it's work like it should. It now is on my calendar every 3 months to remind me. If you have a boiler furnace, do NOT hire Angelo Chiodo to do any work on it. They do not appear to…read morehave expertise with boilers. I had them do yearly servicing on the boiler for the last three years and then had them repair it in February - March 2026 when there was a problem with very low heat. The problem was not correctly addressed. At no time did they check to determine that most of the water had drained out of the boiler. They said I needed a new aquastat and replaced it but set it to 200 degrees (about 40 degrees higher than needed). When I had a technician from a company that knows how to service boilers look at it, the inside was very dirty (had not been getting regular cleaning, although I had paid for maintenance each fall). He discovered that the water had drained out, that it needed flushing, and has repaired the boiler.

I had absolutely no idea our unit wasn't purchased from his business, but on the "marketplace". I don't know what that is. I never once went to his home and picked up the unit. I signed a contract, we had a date for the install, he came on the date - bringing the unit with him, and installed it. We shut it down for the winter and when we started it back up the following spring, it would only blow out warm air. Jim did come down to our home in June of that year with a temporary fix. He had to order a part , said it would be in quickly, and would be back to fix it. We never heard back so I messaged him several times. I was told he was working on a huge job and couldn't get to it just then. I waited a while and messaged him again. I was then told his family had suffered the devastating effects from the hurricane last year and he was helping them. I still have the messages I replied to him with stating my concern for them and to take care of his family. This spring rolls along and I messaged and called him with no reply. It wasn't until I placed this negative review on yelp that he finally came and fixed it. At no cost. Of course it's at no cost. He told us last year it was covered under warranty. Would not recommend.

Porters guys came and told us we needed a new motor - took it apart, couldn't get it working again, couldn't find a new one, then ghosted us - left us high and dry without heat in the middle of December and sub-zero temperatures. So unprofessional .... who does that to another person?? After a week with no heat and realizing Porter was lying and had no intention of helping us, we managed to find someone to rescue us. Porters had done work for us a few years back and were great. Hence the reason for calling them this time ..... but Larry and his son no longer run the business....it has the same name but is NOT Porter! Justin had no right attempting to run this business under the Porter name.
