This was our first time getting a tree at JD Ranch and it was such a good experience…read more We were greeted and asked if we have been there before and as this was our first time the owner explained the process then gave us a ribbon to mark our tree. We tromped through the snow a bit until we found our tree. Once marked with our ribbon, a young man came and cut our tree. As we started hauling it back to the car, the owners daughter asked if we would like a picture with our tree. Heck yeah we do! She took several pictures, we loaded our tree in the car, then went back to pay and get our hands warm on their outdoor furnace. Every employee was super nice and helpful, the price was good and we got to support a local business. As of December 2022, all trees, regardless of type or size, are $45.

The new owners are very different from the prior owners, which may represent why there's a prior one star rating. I highly recommend this establishment. UPDATE: we've use this nursery for bark delivery and stone delivery. Both were exceptionally positive experiences.

Last year I purchased some tumbled rock for a project. After finally deciding…read morehow I would use them, I realized I needed more. Using my phone, I checked on their hours when open because we live about 35 miles away. When we arrived we were met with the gate closed and the CLOSED FOR THE SEASON, SEE YOU SPRING 2025 sign. I checked my phone again, and nowhere did I see a message that they were closed for the season. When I got back home, I checked their website on the computer. At the top, in very small print, was the closed message. It would be very helpful if that message could be much more prominent somewhere near the normal posted hours online. We wasted time and gas going to Sandpoint, also very disappointed that they were closed before the end of October.

When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the owner of the farm. He quickly explained how the u-cut process works as we warmed ourselves by the fire. Let me tell you, this place has amazing service!! They are a well oiled machine! We were provided with a saw, tarp for kneeling on the ground, and tag for marking our tree. They even have pvc pipe pre cut at certain heights so you can accurately measure the height of your tree! After you've picked and cut your tree, all you have to do is drag it a short distance to the main path. From there the tree is picked up, shaken, and bundled for transport by staff. While you are waiting for you tree to be prepared and loaded, you can mozy through the gift shop while drinking complementary hot cocoa or cider. I think we found our spot for a new family tradition! Thanks G's Christmas trees!
