I am not surprised to hear of these bad reviews. I recently became a customer automatically because the company I was with got bought out. At first I was told everything would stay the same and I didn't have to make any changes. Then a couple months later I get a letter stating I had to contact them ASAP and start using a new app, and reader. As I was setting all that up, I realized that the customer service was terrible. A rep had told me he would call back and never got a call back. Hold times were 10 to 15 min. Got tired of being on hold for so long I would hang up. Possibly the worst customer service on the plant! Called 5 times to close my account...each time the process took over 45 minutes...account still has not been closed!!? Always transferred a MINIMUM of three times before eventually being put on hold...hung up on...or sent to a recording! No question was ever answered directly...it is clear that the customer service personal do not have the information...or the ability to answer ANYTHING... My bank uses them as a third party servicer. They are holding over $2000 of my hard earned money and won't release it to the bank because they are saying my merchant dispute has to run it's course. The merchant already responded with a decision and it was to refund my money yet almost 2 months later, I still don't have my money. Do not sign with this company, awful customer service! Made mistake of renewing one year contract, first month was low then took a huge jump in my cost. My last two calls to customer service resulted in 45 minute wait and an hour and 15 minute wait without speaking to no one. Sales representative gave me a link to company that was all different advertisements and nothing that I needed. Sent him email, he said he was not longer my rep and cc'd new rep. New rep has not even responded to my email and has been over a month. Stay far away!!! read more

Just received a $199.00 service fee which took our monthly credit card charge fees up to 21% and for the year on this one segment of our business to 8% for the year. This is unacceptable and I am looking at other options. read more

WorldPay, Vantiv, Virtual Terminal Plus, etc. they have changed companies names 5 times now. I have been asking for months now to let me transfer to them about 1000 customers from my other credit card service and vice versa since I need to utilize two systems for my customers but they do not let me or they don't understand how to do a vault PCI compliant transfer. Obviously they know how to do it as we did it initially and the company that does the transfers is willing are ready to do the transfers but he needs the green light from (WorldPay, / Vantiv, / Virtual Terminal Plus). I have put in about 20 hrs on the phone talking to different departments and no one can facilitate this or they say it can't be done. That is obviously ridiculous that is what they do for new accounts all the time I don't know what to do. Here I am trying to give them more business and they can't facilitate a simple request. BE WARNED - after 17 years with Vantive/Mercury Pay we cancelled and still got charged $295 early termination (outside of our contract) and a final bill or $258 of BS fees even though we had NO processing during that final month. Merchant beware! When you call them they put you on hold for at least a half hour before you can talk to customer service to help you; however if you want to sign up for an account you will get instant help! Now after I asked a detailed question they transfer you and put you on hold for at least another half hour. The whole process is rigged so you don't call them. Shout out to the leaders of Vantiv - have a 5 min service level for service even if you have to hire and train more staff. read more

After Vantiv bought out Moneris, I had nothing but problems in setting up my account. I kept asking "what are my minimum monthly charges going to be?" The Moneris reps that were helping with the transition assured me it would be no more than what we had with them - about $17 per month. Several bills for yearly MEMBERSHIP dues ranged between $150 and $180 and monthly minimum was $86.30. These fees were waived with a LOT of work on my part. But the general statement was, "We won't know your minimum monthly fee until you receive your first bill." Of course I would not agree to use their services under a new contract without knowing what my costs are. Seems a sane enough question from a client. Finally in the 5th month of back and forth with this company, I was given an amount of about $36.00 a month. This is unacceptable for a small business that doesn't normally do Visa/MasterCard transactions unless it is preferred by the client, such as wanting their miles increased. I was able to cancel services without penalty (my contract still had not been uploaded into Vantiv databases as of my last call.) I loved working with Moneris; I dreaded all the time it took to work with Vantiv; not to mention extreme diligence in note taking. I did find a great company called Leaders Merchant Services, and my minimum monthly without any transactions is $9.95. read more

We were using an integrated management software that used a dedicated processing company and would process payments and post the payment to the account. So we had no choice which merchant service company to use with our software. Vantiv/WorldPay apparently purchased the merchant company; which we used for a long while. When we originally signed up with our original merchant, we were informed that we could stop using it at any time and we would not be charged if we did not use the service. We recently made a switch to no longer use the integrated systems and noticed that we were still being charged monthly fees by Vantiv/WorldPay. After a long run around, we were finally able to cancel the service but were informed that the previous monthly charges would not be refunded but we would no longer be charged any fees and the service will be cancelled with no other fees. Well this was not the case. We just received an email with an invoice stating that we are being charged a cancellation fee and it will be Auto Deducted from our bank and to top it off, we were still charged a monthly fee for this month; after the cancellation date. We've been using this integrated service for over 8 years; so it's not like if we just began using this system a year ago or less. The invoice did provide a contact number to speak with an agent regarding this invoice if we had questions or concerns. I contacted the number and the representative stated, "You can only email the department that handles this and that they do not have an extension I could be transferred to in order to speak with someone." I've requested to be transferred to a manager/supervisor and the agent stated that they were not available but she can have someone call me back. Once again, I requested that I speak to the supervisor that is on the floor at the moment. She was extremely hesitant to even contact the supervisor. She returns on the line and says. "Well the supervisor is on a call and it can take a while". I informed her that I would hold because this matter needs to get resolved immediately. After being on hold for an hour and 9 minutes I was finally connected with the supervisor on duty. They stated that they will investigate the situation and reach back to me through email but she would escalate the issue. This merchant company by no means is saving you any money and charging monthly fees regardless for a horrible service. I highly recommend that you NOT use Vantiv/WorldPay if you are expecting a competitive rate/discount rate or actual customer service that can resolve issues immediately. Our small business feels like we've been slammed and forced to use a service/pay fees that we did not agree with from the beginning with Vantiv/WorldPay. read more

Tried them as a processor but their rates weren't competitive and when we tried to terminate the contract they wanted several thousand so we tried to let it run out. Almost three years later we have paid thousands in monthly charges and deductions from our account and they still havent closed it. read more

We cancelled over 10 months ago and we still are billed monthly...it just never.ever.stops. This is the worst merchant Processing company I have ever worked with. They added in all these hidden fees I was unaware of until I started to look closer at other merchant processor fee structures. I was getting charge about 1% more than I am with my new merchant company in the end. The worst part is the strongarm tactics they are trying to place on our business now that we canceled with them and they are trying to say we owe them "liquidated damages" from some hidden undisclosed early termination clause in our contract. We were "upgraded" by MPS to these new terminals. I was uninformed that we would be dealing with someone other than McAllister every time we had an issue (which is DAILY). First it was called Mercury, then Vantiv, now Worldpay. Our virtual terminal has NEVER worked. They can't even tell me how much we are paying in processing fees and the customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE. I will be swapping companies ASAP. read more

Based on the previous reviews you can tell that nobody is happy with them. I wish I could give them zero or negative stars because they do not even deserve that one star. The worst credit card processing company. Not only they are absolutely unprofessional but also total scammers. TO ALL BUSINESS OWNERS: STAY AWAY AND AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM. First they tricked me into signing a ridiculous 4 year lease and a contract full of ridiculous unknown fees with them. I was told by this company's salesperson that we will never experience chargeback as they do not have a chargeback department which was a complete lie. So I kid you not when I say these guys are fraud and they will tell you any lies to make you sign a contract with them. They provided me with a NON-EMV Chip Enabled terminal which was a total junk. After about a month I requested a new EMV-Chip enabled machine and they sent me a new one which turned out defective. I called them again requesting a new one and this time they sent me one without the cable to connect it. Are you serious? I was not able to accept cards for almost 3 weeks because of their poor management. After about 3 months, our company turned into a corporation and as a result the name and TIN of our business was changed to a new one. We notified them of this change immediately by signing a form and emailing it to them. After 2 years of processing with them, I noticed something strange in my bank account. You know by default we trust our credit card processing company to deposit the correct amount for daily transactions into our bank accounts. But I noticed that the amount of deposits does not match with transactions so I called them and they asked me to call the bank. I contacted the bank and they said that they have no control over the direct deposits. So After 2 weeks I contacted them again and found out that my money has been held up as tax withholding by the IRS due to wrong old information of our company on their system. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Why do we have to go through all this until this 4 years of nightmare with this company is OVER. I called them and they apologized for not updating the information and I was told they can't do anything about it and now I have to try to get my money from the IRS!!!! FOLKS I TELL YOU AGAIN: STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I am going to open a BBB case against them, contact their acquiring bank who sponsors them and contact the attorney general very soon to fight for my rights against them. read more

Worst company ever. Straight up con men. Cancelled my account and they tried to hit me with a $2000 bill. The website says $295 early termination fee. Contract really should be read by your lawyer before you sign it. There are 97 ways they can screw you but it sounds straight forward and easy when they sign you up. I was using shopkeep and they used shopkeep payments which I guess used Vantiv as part of their payment processing. I switched to a different pos and they used Vantiv also, so basically I switched from Vantiv to Vantiv and I got hit with a $2000 cancellation fee. The confusing part is my agreement was month to month. I am disputing it currently. read more

This is by far the worst company to deal with. They told us all that we needed to do was sign a termination form and mail it in within a certain time frame. Not only did we do that they sent us back forms to an old address which we clearly stated on the termination paperwork that we had moved. After the fact they are telling us that the original signer of the contract has to be the one to sign the termination paper work, that individual is now retired! What if he was deceased? Do not recommend. They will promise the world up front but it will be a nightmare if you wish to cancel. read more

I have never seen a company as this one. I started with them as a customers two years ago they change from Element to Mercury to Vantiv and now to World pay. i don't know what will be next. What I know is they are a merchant and they change our site to login to see our transaction with the credit card from the customer and they did not notify us we are in February 21st 2018 and they change it since February one. I signed with them for recurring payment to my business membership and everything is going terrible. One customer they did not charge at all the second they charge twice in a month. Good luck if you try to contact them try their favor one (866)435-3636 they will place on hold for 2 hours and 53 minutes than finally a voice ask me if i can answer a survey for three minutes for how good they are doing. this number is answered by the Filipines and no one knows anything i have been trying to talk to any one in management for almost 5 days and no chance. There is only one person named " Britney Marc" that she is trying to help me. we are not going anywhere and i don't know what the money status in my business no control, no follow up and no reconciliation. I am a Vantiv Customer and store owner who up to now has had no problems. However, they made an huge error on my account which they will not resolve. The problem is that there is absolutely NO WAY to reach a real management person who has the ability to solve problems, the people you do reach on the phone are just account information staff. Also, they have a horrible computerized telephone help system that goes in circles with no option to ever talk to anyone. I contacted my franchise headquarters and thought they could reach someone but now no one will return their call either. Horrible experience w Vantiv. They tripled my fees with no explanation and make it almost impossible to cancel your service. They are unethical and on three separate occasions over several months I sent in their form to cancel and they tell me they have no record of it....and kept drawing out of my account...They run interference w/ with staff who refuse to give you any direct phone numbers to reach company administrators. All there phone correspondence lead back to the same answering system .No one could give me a straight answer. Finally I spent 3 days on the phone this week and even went to UPS to fax my cancelation form ( instead from my home office) to get further proof of sending the cancelation form. Then I get an email stating I have to fill out an additinal cancelation form for another dept...Which I also faxed through UPS office...When I called back they still couldnt confirm telling me another dept. handles it but company policy would not allow them to give out this number. I demanded to speak to a supervisor...and at first they refused..the gal then put me on hold to talk To "someone" and then came back to say they did received the fax but it would take 30 more days to process it. I lossed it on the phone..knowing they would automatically renew my contract for another 2 years on Nov 15 and make me subject to their large early termination fees. Finally after refusing to hang up they put me through to their "internal processing center" Where the gentleman was finally able to cancel my policy on the spot.(I hope)... 0 stars....lack any transparency, communication lines are terrible, hidden increases, and in my opinion their goal is to completely discourage you in your right to terminate your contract w them read more

The rates at #Vantiv may appear good but there are hidden fees like you wouldn't believe. Prepare for an annual fee of $169! Our first two charges in excess of $1,000 were held for two weeks due to some hiccup with underwriting because they set us up as an online store (which we aren't) and needed to see our website before depositing the money. If you ever need to reach customer service, prepare to wait on hold for a long time and set aside 30 to 45 minutes just to reach an agent. Then, when you go to cancel your account, they email you a form to fill out which they say you can email or fax back, but it's never processed because you can only fax it in! And that's not all... the agent then says to call back in 7 to 10 days to make sure the account was closed and submit a new case to have this month's fees credited back. While the rates of Square, Stripe, and Quickbooks Payments may seem higher, with all the fees Vantiv charges you it's likely a wash. (You can get volume discounts with the other processors too.) This company needs a HUGE lesson in customer service where it only takes one phone call to resolve an issue, the agent takes ownership of it and sees it through to resolution, and provides you with status updates along the way. read more

When I first started my business, I naively chose to work with Vantiv thinking that their affiliation with Fifth Third would ensure scrupulous dealings. Not so. I foolishly agreed to a 3 year contract but soon found out I couldn't do recurring transactions, which are the core of my business. I tried to cancel, got the "You signed a contract" speech, and the news of the early termination fee of $295. So I waited out the balance of the contract, only to find out it auto-renews. I sent the cancellation form back by email (they said email or fax) three days ago but they still haven't opened the email. My experience has been terrible. read more
