Always shows up on time and goes the extra mile to make sure the job is done. Highly recommend.

House of Car Wash - Debris left and spots after wash

Amazing value for exterior wash and interior vacuum/clean…read more My used lease car was so dirty with pet hair and evidence people had lived in it. There was food and drinks spilled everywhere it was sticky stinky and gross. The lease company asked for some estimates declining all of the $200-500 detailing services. I came upon this place which did a nice basic job of cleaning the interior and exterior for only $50. Big win! If your car is gross and dirty and you don't want to break your back cleaning it come right over. The services were well worth the $50

I'm giving House of Car Wash in Montclair four stars and honestly I'm being a little generous,…read moremainly because the staff was genuinely very nice and accommodating, and I want to give credit where it's due. This one's partly on me because I showed up without my key, but they were super patient and worked with me, even letting me drive my Tesla through the wash myself. They helped me figure out valet mode, didn't rush me, and were calm while I was clearly stressed trying to get everything sorted. That kind of customer service matters and it definitely saved the experience from being a total letdown. That said, the vibe was... strange. I pulled up and genuinely thought the place was closed. It was completely empty, no cars, no staff visible, nothing. It felt like a zombie zone. I sat there confused for a minute until someone randomly appeared and waved me in. Even when I went to pay afterward, there was nobody around again, which added to the whole uneasy, deserted feeling. What was extra surprising is that it was a Tuesday special, so I expected at least some traffic. Seeing it that dead was honestly concerning, especially given how highly rated this place is on Yelp. As for the wash itself, I paid about $50 for a wash with wax and I don't think I'd do that again. I actually watched them wash the car and didn't see anything particularly special that justified the price. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't impressive. I also tried the massage chairs out front while waiting, which cost $5 for 15 minutes, and I definitely wouldn't recommend that. Totally not worth it, especially sitting there alone in an empty lot. Overall, the staff was kind and helpful, and that's the main reason this isn't a lower rating, but the odd atmosphere, pricing, and mismatch between expectations and reality mean I probably won't be back.

I'm disappointed to be writing this review because I had really hoped to recommend Shineforever909…read more I've known the owner personally for years--he went to school with my kids--and I wanted to support his business. Normally, I wash my own car and have never taken it to a car wash, but since he was coming out to do the interior of one my company vans (which he did a great job on) I decided to let him wash my vehicle for $70. After the first wash, I noticed the exterior didn't look great. I texted him the next day, and he told me his pressure washer had run out of gas, so he switched to a waterless wash. That was a red flag--he should have let me know about the change before completing the job, not after I had to reach out. He came back a week later to re-wash the car. It was better, but still just okay. Since I work from home, I had only driven to the gym that week and my car had stayed parked in my garage all weekend while I attended a Zoom seminar. The next day, I took a closer look and saw that all four rims were covered in black streaks. I brought the car to three different detail shops, and all of them told me the same thing: whatever wheel cleaner was used had been left on too long, causing etching in the finish. Each shop recommended a full recoat--an estimated $700 repair. When I reached out to Shineforever909, he denied responsibility and blamed it on overspray of some sort. That explanation doesn't hold up--overspray wouldn't affect all four rims while leaving no trace anywhere else on the car. At the end of the day, three independent professionals confirmed the same damage and cause. Shineforever909 has refused to take accountability. I also regret blindly giving him a $50 tip. Bottom line: use Shineforever909 at your own risk.

I was hesitant based on the lack of reviews, but I normally tend to try things out at least once to form my own opinion. I will say, I was a bit nervous when going. I've always been a loyal "at home" car washer. Thankfully, it all worked out. The wash/vacuum takes CC, but based off the reviews, I opted to use cash. They have a coin machine, if you need change. $5 for 10 minutes was enough time for me to get my car nice and clean. I loved the different options and definitely used them all. Both times, I've gone on a Saturday morning at around 9:00 a.m. By 9:30 a.m., there was a wait for the washer. Something to keep in mind if you plan on a quick wash. After the wash, I pull right into the vacuum area to tackle the inside of my car. My son's into sports, so his practices normally leave my backseat a mess. It's $2 for four minutes, but unlike the wash, it does not let you know that your time is almost ending, so you have to watch for it. I wish they had a smaller suction for hard to reach areas, but it works pretty well and leaves the inside of my car clean. There is only one vacuum per two cars, so if you want to vacuum right after, make sure to pull into a spot where it's not being used. They have machines with different types of shams to purchase. They also have an area to roll out the shams and squeeze the water out. I'm in and out in about 25-30 minutes.. feeling like a brand new person with a clean car. I've always visited in the morning, but the place is pretty lit up at night.
