I am absolutely in love with these apartments. My husband and I are looking for a place to live that is closer to his work, and found them on google maps. I was pretty apprehensive at first because of the negative reviews, but decided to change my mind because you really can't beat location and price. I really like how this property is within walking distance of the pier, downtown Seattle, and a couple parks. If you don't have a car, and plan on walking everywhere, this location is really perfect. Overlooking the floor plan, I realized that they are larger than others in the area. The property was very clean and the manager, Samuel, was very professional. One thing that makes me uncomfortable about apartment living are the managers, however Samuel was super attentive and welcoming. You can tell that he takes pride in his work, and values every person that lives there. Unfortunately we aren't able to rent here since the size of the apartment we need, won't be available until after our preferred move in date. But if something opens up, we will definitely jump on it! read more

The only reason this place gets one star is because Yelp won't let me give them 0. The apartments themselves are beautiful. Loved my view, loved the layout and everything is really great quality - the maintenance guy is also AWESOME and fixes everything within a day that you put a work order in for it. The management is the problem. These people have NO idea what they're doing and show little to no professionalism. I lived here for almost a year and no matter how many times I stopped into the office to pick up a package or ask about something, they NEVER knew my name or even tried to remember it. The apartments are incredibly overpriced, as are the utilities. My apartment was NOT cleaned before I moved in, even though they wouldn't let me in for 7 days in the beginning of October supposedly so they had time to clean it. As a college student whose school year had already started, I didn't have time to complain about it and wait for them to take another 7 days to ACTUALLY clean it. I needed to live as close to campus as possible, since commuting from Lynnwood with morning classes was taking a toll on me. We moved in to wet, stinky carpets from the previous tenants, a filthy tub with hair clogs, countertops that hadn't even been swept over with a papertowl and a filthy toilet. Multiple times, we had problems with our elevators, the pipes bursting in the building and the water being shut off for hours - and NOT A SINGLE EMAIL was sent to let us know what was going on. I'm a college student that works 40+ hours a week at two jobs, and has a full academic load, and this was a huge inconvenience to not be warned in advance to allow for extra time or make other arrangements. We had issues with the online payment system that almost kept me from paying rent on time and they didn't even bother to email the tenants or post up any kind of sign indicating that this was an issue on THEIR end and that everything would be taken care of and resolved. I called every time I had an issue, and twice out of the 50 times I've called was my call returned - since they don't even answer their phones to begin with. Now that I've moved out, they're still awful. I moved out at the end of May and received NONE of my deposit despite the HOURS of work my mom (an apartment manager herself) put in to clean it so I could get my deposit back. $300 of the $600 I paid up front was a "move in fee"... which is already an unnecessary charge. The rest of the $300 was taken by $215 I know they're not using to clean the carpets and $85 to clean the apartment that was already CLEAN enough for someone to move into right away. Honestly, as a first time apartment renter, this was an awful experience with people that never answered the phones/emails, never told you when something was going on in the building, and were hardly ever even in the office to help you if they were going to be so unresponsive via phone and email. You can bet that if you don't see them in the office, 99% of the time they're smoking on a nearby corner, and if you ask for their help for something urgent, they'll say they're off duty for their 15 minute break (but this happens more often than a 15 minute break allows). Truly, an awful management team with no idea what they're doing and not a care in the world for your living environment or situation. Really, you can find a cheaper apartment or condo to rent with far better management EASILY in the beautiful Capitol Hill/First Hill area. read more

I give it a 3.5 actually. I do agree with the fact that there is more noise than your typical retirement community however I find the tenants to be pretty respectful since new management came in. If you complain, they will do something. OR you could just be a man and knock on your neighbors door and ask them to kindly be more respectful.....On that note, I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good deal near the city and does not mind a lively spot. Oh, and I hear they are hiring night security, should help with evening noise. read more

Fantastic location and great new management team! I've lived here for almost three months now and I can tell you that this is the perfect place to live if you're interested in being close to great bars and restaurants in Capitol Hill and don't want to deal with the noise and other problems that come with living in Capitol Hill! My reasons for this rate: I lived in this apt complex one and a half years. Throughout this time Jamie and the team were nothing but cool to me, didn't bother, were patient with me. Did not have problems with management at all. My objective rate for the complex would have been 4 starts or 4.5 since there's not much amenities except court yard and recent rooftop, but I have personal reasons to appreciate this place. I was living in a nice one bedroom on fifth floor and every morning I was enjoying rainier view, which is really beautiful, specially covered in morning fog and colorful clouds. So, every day already was starting with a good vibe. The location itself is good for my type, being on a quiet street with walking distance access to all the benefits of capitol hill. I don't have a car myself but there's always a car2go near by, so commute was rather easy, plus walking is good from time to time. 15~20 mins to get to i-90. Did not have any problems with neighbours during all 18 month there, may be got lucky, judging from another reviewers. On the other hand, seems like they did not have problems with me, which is also important. Sometimes I was catching myself during piano practicing at midnight (you can imagine how does semi-decent party sound like, specially on Sunday night). Another reason is related to the story with my friend that had knee surgery at some point and was living at my place for a month during recovery. Jamie gave me discount for keeping friend's car in the garage (i payed 100), which was nice of him. The funny story happened when I dropped the keys into the elevator shaft, returning from grocery shopping at night. At that time, emergency hour line could not help me since all locksmith were closed. I know they have spare keys, but I couldn't get them, so I kicked the doors to my apartment, obviously damaging the door frame (which is the only concern of mine, given how easy it was for someone who haven't played soccer for a while and is sitting in front of a computer most of the awaken hours). In the end the frame was repaired for free for me, which surprised me in a good way. There are many little examples like that, and i really could not find solid example to make a case about my bad experience at vantage park (Altho I tried, who doesn't like to bitch?). I don't know what party of that was luck, but I can attest the effort on management's part to make it consistent. read more

I moved in a week ago and the entire the overall experience has been fantastic. The management I worked with (Samuel & Caitlin) thus far has been phenomenal. My move in was during Covid, so the entire experience for touring was done online. Unfortunately, an error in the online system listed the floorplan I was moving into as having a walk in closet. Upon arrival, it was clear the apartment I was in did NOT have a walk in closet. Obviously, this was upsetting, however I went down and chatted with management. Within hours they worked out a series of accommodations to address the issue. The error was not on their part as they could not enter my exact apartment until the tenant had moved out and the online floor plan DID show a walk in. They were extremely pleasant throughout the entire interaction and despite the error I am extremely happy with the place. Maintenance addresses issues quickly. The area is quite as you get for this area of Seattle, including noise from inside the apartment. The surrounding area is beautifully cloaked in green landscape that makes you feel like you never left the wilderness. Biggest issue for anyone would be parking. Offstreat is packed. At this time, parking garage is 150 a month, which is the cheapest I ran across in my apartment search for this area. Would recommend this apartment to anyone! read more

If you're looking for a management team who has zero interest in your needs and prefers to get paid while sitting around accomplishing nothing then this is the apartment for you! I had to go 3 days with no hot water and management didn't even try to offer any sort of accommodations let alone show any sort of sympathy at the fact I took arctic showers. The property always has overflowing trash bins, probably because taking out trash is below them. Take your money elsewhere, if you're going to be ripped off by exorbitant housing costs at least make sure you get decent management with it. read more

I agree with most of the comments here on Yelp. We moved in as professionals figuring out where to buy in Seattle. In a one year lease we had a nice apartment for more money per month than I was paying for in a mortgage in a three bed two bath in Oakland, CA!!! Then the extras- extra to have a pet, extra to have a parking spot, extra if you need storage, extra if you want secure package delivery. The management was horrible! We moved in next to a cigarette smoking couple who clearly chain smoked their way through the day. My apartment reeked of smoke because of the poor ventilation and persistent smoke. NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was done about the smoking despite my constant complaints. They claim to be a non-smoking building but if you are a smoker, move in there because they will do nothing to discourage you. I had to get an inhaler during the winter because we could not keep the windows open this past year because it was so cold. We were simply appeased- "our attorneys are looking into what we can do" for a full year. The gym is a joke. Filthy all the time. People used the bathroom in the gym to be sick and not clean up. Often the gym was not even open- you know, when you want to use it- morning and after work hours. Upon moving out I made an appointment with management a week in advance because of my tight schedule. She agreed on the time and when I showed up a walk in tour request also showed up. She asked ME with the appointment to wait a half an hour until she could get to me. I disagreed asking her what did an appointment mean to her. She got up in a huff and did my walk through slamming doors and drawers, and barely looking at how clean we left the place. They charged us $300 for cleaning and the place was cleaner than when we moved in!! They will be nice to you upon meeting you, but if you need anything, expect NOTHING, unless you are willing to pay. read more

There are so many noisy tenants in this apartment complex, this is already like a second home to cops responding to noise complaints. They might as well station an officer in the courtyard every night, since someone is just bound to either have a loud karaoke night, loud movie night, or just a loud night. I lived here for 18 months and loved it! Samuel was the most helpful leasing agent I've ever worked with, from the first time we toured it until the day my roommate and I turned in our keys. Complex was always clean, any email I ever sent was answered that day, any maintenance request was fulfilled next business day, they even replaced our dryer because it was too noisy. I'm so sad to have to move out due to work location, would have loved to resign. Absolutely would recommend this place, if you go in ask for Samuel! read more

I've lived here for 2.5 years. I've lived in many apartments over the years. It's a shame to give this place only one star, because the layout is good, and the location is good. What is not good is the management. First, management turns over faster than a MacDonald's staff. There is no consistency. Additionally, the community used to be quiet. Now it is filled with loud parties that happen every weekend, and on some weekdays. I'm not talking about parties going after "quiet hours" which theoretically start at 10PM. I'm talking about multiple, loud partying until 4 in the morning. If you are reading this, and you are college aged, love to party, and envision the true "college experience" of constant drinking and loud music, then by all means you should move in here. You can host your friends with the most disruptive forms of entertainment and suffer no consequences. I'm not being sarcastic, you can be as loud as you want, as long as you want. Oh sure, your neighbors won't like it. However, rest assured that security will not come, and if they do actually arrive about an hour after being called, they'll ask you politely to stop. You will until they leave, and then feel free to continue right along. Hell, tonight I called on the unbelievable base from my neighbor, and security didn't even pick up. Honestly, I've given up on calling them for so long, that the number may have been disconnected. What about management? You might ask. Oh, don't you worry hypothetical, potential student renter. They will warn you, but they will never kick you out. My neighbor literally had over ten complaints against him. He still remains comfortably partying with the incessant barking of his dog. That shouldn't worry you prospective, student renter. You can just drown it out with some dub step, or needlessly blaring J Pop. However, if you are reading this and not a college age student DON'T MOVE HERE! It used to be a somewhat out of the way spot for working professionals and had a great manager. Now, maintenance calls are unanswered and whoever the new manager is that week will not lift a finger to make sure you get the experience that you'll be paying (out the ass) for. Yes, it is also far too expensive. We're now going to move out of here, never to look back or hopefully ever rent again. If my review helps one person decide not to live here, then my work will be complete. read more

Excellent location and very professional management. I lived here for two and a half years while attending Seattle University, and it was the perfect apartment for us. The management and maintenance staff was always attentive and courteous. They responded to service requests quickly and were almost always available when I needed them. I'm not a big yelper but I felt compelled to respond because the ratings of this place are not at all fair. I've lived here for almost 2 years and overall really love it. I think the biggest pro is the fantastic management and maintance staff on site, who started right about the time I moved in. They are extremely curteous and respond very quickly to even the tiniest requests. Other comments about the place: Fantastic location (walking distance to cap hill, the stadiums, and downtown), relatively decent price, allows dogs, new rooftop deck, 24/7 gym, nice courtyard with bbq. I will admit that due to its proximity to Seattle U, there are a lot of college students in the area and it can get a bit loud on the weekends, but management has put policies in place to address this and I don't find it to be that big of an issue. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to live in the First Hill neighborhood. read more

I have lived at the Vantage Park Apartments for 5 years, and the management, particularly Samuel, has been wonderful. I lost my partner of 36 years in May to long term illness, and he could not have been more compassionate--he worked out a new less expensive apartment for me at VP, and now I feel secure in knowing my apartment building is managed by caring, and again compassionate human beings--something hard to find in this day and age of Seattle's hyper-growth. I lived here last year for a while and found it to be really nice. My unit faced south and there were no major noise issues -- at least, nothing that isn't typical living in the middle of Seattle. The unit was clean & had new appliances when I moved in. Management was always prompt about mail, financial issues, etc and was clear and helpful in all their policies. I eventually left to move in with my boyfriend, but for the time I lived there I liked it quite a bit. It's close to a lot of stuff, street parking is plentiful, and rent is fair for the size of unit you get. read more

I have been living in the Vantage Park apt complex for over a year and a half now and sadly this is my last month here with you folks. Overall, I had great experience. Robyn (manager) and Able (maintenance) go out of their way to address any issues or concerns you may have just about right away. They were both awesome! And the new additions to the complex, including furnished courtyard with grills and an awesome roof deck with a great view of Mt. Rainier, really make this place an enjoyable and comfortable place to live. I highly recommend this apartment building, especially for local students. read more

I lived in this building for 3 years before the management increased the rent so high that I had to move out. In those 3 years I saw 3 different building managers and 3 different maintenance companies. Each year the rent increased. The fire alarms went off in the middle of the night almost every other month. Sometimes it was legitimate like when the guys on the 5th floor caught their kitchen on fire, but most of the time it was a false alarm, or someone playing with the fire extinguisher in the elevator. There is a halfway house 1 block away. My wife could not walk by this place alone without getting hooted at or worse. There is a gentleman who walks down Terrace St once a day shouting, "Sh1t, F@ggot!" at the top of his lungs EVERY DAY. The building is not secure. I had my bicycle stolen from the bicycle cage, and everyone in the building had their storage lockers broken into and their personal possessions destroyed. None of the security cameras in the building caught these perpetrators because they were placed on the far side of the parking garage. These are just some of the problems that my wife and I experienced while living at Vantage Park. read more

I waited 6 months to write this review so that I was able to get a more complete experience before making an assessment. This is my first apartment of my own and I am completely and entirely satisfied; I would recommend this location to my friends/anyone seeking housing in First/Capitol Hill. First and foremost, the management team is excellent here. I have always had problems dealt with expeditiously and the staff is extremely friendly. I can come to the staff teams with problems or just for conversation. A real standout is Dustin, he is attentive, welcoming, and in my experience has always been responsive to any problems I've had. The facility is also great. It is generally very clean and exceptionally quiet. I also feel safe in the building. Feeling secure is a priority and I have never felt unsafe here. There are also decent amenities including a small (but well kept) fitness room, a courtyard (great when it's sunny) and a rooftop deck with a pretty awesome view. As for my unit, the appliances are all new and I love the configuration. The numerous windows give great light, and it does not feel cramped as some of my other friend's apartments do. You can't this beat location. It is perfect for students (like myself) or those who commute downtown/central district, but perhaps don't want to live in the bustle of those areas. It is also close to numerous dining and entertainment options, with the Pike/Pine area being just under a mile away. Trader Joes, Safeway, and QFC are all within a .7-1.5 miles away. There is also easy access to medical facilities including primary care and a hospital. You may be wondering at this point why I am giving a four star review. If I had to critique one thing, I would say that the price point is a bit ($200-300) higher than what I've seen for similar housing. AT THE SAME TIME, I duly recognize that Seattle rent fluctuates through the year and that I happened to move into my apartment during a time that the prices were skyrocketing as demand increased sharply. I acknowledge that prices have gone down for units since I've been here. So please take this comment in tandem with a consultation for what prices are when you are inquiring about housing. I have no complaints as of now regarding the facilities, staff, or my experience here. Check this place out if you are looking for housing, it's worth it! read more

I loved this apartment when I first moved in. Unfortunately since then, the building has gone under new management and l'm sorry to say that this place has gone to hell. Well, at least the second tower has.... It seems to be that there is no maintenance care at all compared to when I first moved in. For months now there has been trash littered all over in the stairwells, the bins on P2 are rarely ever emptied, resulting in over flowing trash that attracts flys, there are paint spatters all over the walls in the lobby by the elevators that were never cleaned up and vomit that has been on stoop facing Alder for at least three weeks now. I don't know what has been going on but when people have complained, management has not been responsive at all. Other tenants of the building agree that this has become a "gross" building to live in the last year and a half and that someone needs to be paying a bit more attention to the second building rather than just the building that they do tours in. Considering how much money people spend to live here, it would be nice if the place were cleaned up a bit. read more

This place is a joke. I pay almost 2,000 dollars to live here in a one bedroom apt. They shut the exercise room down at ten so you cannot work out when it's late and they are always shutting the water off almost every week because supposedly of a water heater leak. This is not acceptable for a place that charges this month. The garage smells like trash because they never clean the trash room. What a joke, I recommend looking elsewhere, their are to many other nice places available. read more

Don't come rent here! A lot of tenants here say the manager is a heartless, queen of ice and almost 3/4 of the building now is vacant since she is the manager here. I'd say that she is a queen of HELL!! She seems nice to you only on the day you sign the contract. After that, you will face many problems with her. First thing, she never keep mail packages for you like in other apartments and tenants' packages are lost. Second, elevator was recently broken for 5 days (never happened before in the past 10 years I live here when other managers were here) and she didn't order any emergency service to fix the problem. Plus, when asked about when the elevator would be fixed, she said "not sure, sorry" and was dismissive. Most of all, she likes to spy on the tenants to see if she could charge any extraneous fees. For example, she spies on a tenant and claims that he has a pet so that she could charge pet fee. Also, when she uses utilities such as water to maintain the common ground and building (washing building), she would, in effect, bill that to the tenants as well. I noticed that the bill on my water does not have any meter to account for and the charge is random (going up to over $55 per month for just one person during the month that she ordered people to wash the building!). No apartment in this area charge for water and PLUS, she charges for renter insurance as well. The courtyard is also often filled with drunk people so very noisy on weekend's nights. Lastly, many tenants said that she fines you a lot when you move out and they ended up having to lose all the deposit money. She tries to compensate for vacant room by charging the existing tenants lots of fees! read more

If you don't want to sleep, and don't need any manager help, live here. Otherwise, look away!! We lived here for a year and 9 months, and it was a year and 9 months TOO long. We moved here to try and upgrade to a nicer place with modern touches, like a dish washer and W/D, after living on capital hill for about 5 years in some of the nice 'vintage' apartments w/o some modern amenities. I don't know if it has changed since, but during my residence in 2012 and 2013 it was horrible. Getting in was easy, and at the time, a few (2 or 3 minor issues in the first few months) were reconciled within a day at the time. In 2012 'Wilson' was the property manager and he was amazing and actually cared about the place and the tenants. We were sad to hear he was leaving at the end of 2012 :( After he left, messages and most emails were not answered. You had to go to the office in person for any help during their hours. We moved here because the rules/lease had 'quiet hours' from 10PM to 8AM. We thought that would mean a nice comfy place to live for a while. NOPE!! EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND there were parties in this building. Great if you are in your teens or young 20s and don't sleep. But for professionals in their 30s, and wanting a NICE place, not so much. Every Friday and Saturday, at least, we woke up between 11PM and 1 AM to LOUD screaming people and music (even worse, was this happened during WORKING weekday nights at least once a month too, leaving us tired at work, or so tired we called in sick on a few occasions). The after-hours security # would dispatch a security guard if you called to complain, which did NOTHING when they got there. We couldn't wait to get out of this place. Only ONCE did management actually address the violation of the breach of the 'quiet hours' from loud party complaints, with letters/citations in general. The price was too high for the sleepless nights. If it was mature people and nice neighbors, AND great management, it would have been great, and we probably would have stayed a few more years. The unit itself was awesome, and had a great view of Mt Rainier; but that's the ONLY nice thing to say about this place. To repeat, if you are a vampire and don't need sleep, and like to party, live here. If not, look somewhere else. read more
