I came here because I was referred for a baseline mammogram, even though I had one roughly six…read moreyears old. I was tax referral from a free program in Oklahoma called Take Charge. The actual mammogram was great, but I had to come back for an ultrasound and there was some breakdown between the program and the center. I had to come back a second time for the ultrasound because the paperwork didn't come through. So now I'm back for a second time. At first they thought I was going to have to reschedule once again, because I had never received a card from Take Charge but lo and behold, once they looked they had it. They also forgot to tell me when they called that first I'd have another mammogram. This one was weird in a slightly different position, just to see the specific area in question. It was uncomfortable but not painful. Apparently they discovered that pain is not a necessary part of a mammogram. Go figure, after all the years of torture of women. Personally, the ultrasound is almost worse than the mammogram because you're left with sticky goo. Oh they have dry washcloths and wet wipes but I hate wet things. Yuck! The radiologist came in and told me everything looked good and they see me next year. Easy peasy.
