Having worked for Goodyear, I got to know the owners of Vans Auto Service and was really impressed by how they treated their employees. So, once I was laid off by Goodyear, I refused to have my car serviced by them anymore and started taking our cars to Van's on Canton Road. The manager, Marcus, is super friendly and helpful and always goes above and beyond to take care of his customers. We've had tires installed, oil changes, brake jobs and more and each time, we felt like they truly cared about us and the pricing has always been reasonable. The other thing I really appreciate is that you can count on your appointment time and oil changes are done in about 45 mins. We took our truck to get the brake lines replaced. Marcus informed us he would have it for a couple days, they had it for a week. When we picked the truck up, we couldn't stop it. The brakes went all the way to the floor. We drove it around for a half hour hoping that would put pressure in the lines. When it didn't we drove it back, he said he'll have the mechanic that worked on the brakes look at it and that they were not sure what the problem was because they bled the lines. Two days later, they called us back and said they couldn't get the bolts off to bleed the lines , that they were rusted on. Weird because two days prior they said they bled the lines. They had no reason on what it happened. He said it if we went and bought new calipers, they would put them on for a discounted price and that then they could lead the brakes. The whole thing was a joke. We ended up taking it to another garage. It was a waste of time and money taking our vehicle there. read more

Ellet location : I quit this location 10 years ago ...but I stopped in to the Ellet vans Canton Rd unscheduled to have some awful grinding on my brakes checked , expecting to be turned away ...I was pleasantly surprised to find a very clean and organized waiting room and polite helpful staff . Said they cold get the brakes done today in fact ..WHAT ??? Techs showed me the issue and detailed the work . A snafu by the parts delivery people at closing time cost my car an overnight stay but made sure it would be done 1st thing in the am as promised , got a lift home by Marcus ! I had a problem with my steering wheel on my car. When the person who was going to repair it found out in more detail what the problem was, he told me that the the manufacturer was aware of the problem and made a special condition to cover the cost to to repair it if I went to a dealership. He went online to make sure and printed out the information for me. I believe his name was Ron. I went to the dealership and the repair was done for free. I was so happy that Vans was so honest and went above and beyond to help me. read more

Bought four 65,000 mile tires, but got 45,000 mile tires. Also paid for an alignment that had not been done (per Goodyear inspection). Confronted owner with proof, and he immediately corrected his "mistakes" because "if something is wrong, we'll make it right". More like was it corrected because I had proof that I didn't get what I paid for. read more

I used the one in Streetsboro and Wayne did such a God Job I used the one in Akron and after years of leaking tires I found out they don't Grind the Beads . I had all my Tires removed and ground and on my Girls Car also. After two Nights in a row of a Flat Tire after work ( Slow deflation ) and them saying it wasn't them the Manager told me he's not on that when I used profanity in a sentence . Of course I offered him a chance to show me and even 5 years later he was still mad as I apologized and it was eating at him so I let him know to come get some then . I spent an extra grand over deflating tires in a few years and NEVER had it happen since going to HAMAD on Market. Not once . Imagine that . ......still waiting on that Gym Visit . read more

Even though it is possible to find a "cheaper" labor rate at another shop you will not be able to find anothwr local shop that is will8ng to go above and beyond your expectations of what you're paying for. This is one of the most honest businesses ive done any financial transactions with and you never have to worry about being price gouged. The staff on board this shop are very knowledgable and very friendly. Their prices for parts and service are very fair and reasonable and the shop is backed up by the goodyear name. The main reason you are paying just a tad bit more on your hourly rate is due to the fact that Dave the man who runs his shop knows his stuff and Kimberly the lady who runs the other end is on top of her game. If youre wanting to deal with straight up people this is the shop you want repairing your vehicle. Since ive began giving this shop my business ive spent over a 1000 bucks and plan to spend another 500 next. read more
