If you're familiar with Chocolate Fetish in Asheville, the owners here bought them. All good chocolate! Try the cappuccino, Grand Marnier, dark salted caramel, cacao nib, and orange pepper for a little spice. Friendly owner, HUGE selection of truffles, fudge, bulk chocolates, and candies. The store is large and inviting. Warm lighting and a wow factor. Worth the trip and it's local vs. having to go to Asheville for chocolates. read more

I love stopping by Van's Chocolate while in Hendersonville, NC. It is a family-owned company that makes delicious treats. I first found the chocolate store when I took a tour of the area, and this was a stop. I've been coming back ever since. They have premade boxes or you can select your pieces from the case. The boxes are made with either assortments, all dark or all milk, or caramels. Then there are prewrapped treats throughout the store. I like that they have various items for many different holidays, whether Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day or Valentine's Day. If you can't make it to the store, they have a website to order from. read more

Very unique chocolate store. When you walk in you get to smell all that chocolate aroma. Smells delicious. They have a huge selection of chocolates, so many that you can spend a lot of time in there. We got a box of chocolates and they had 3 types of Christmas wrapping paper you can choose from. They wrap for free. They did a beautiful job on our gift. Place is kinda expensive but they make high quality chocolates. And they make other things too. There a lot of gifts there anc you can buy online too. read more

Service was great! Prices very fair, and the selection amazing. Got to meet the owner and some of her family as they were reopening after the stormed named Helene had come through our area a few weeks prior. It's tucked away off the beaten path, but so worth the find. If you plan on sending candy for the holidays or another special occasion, THIS is the place to get it from. read more

Dear God!' You must stop jere if you love chocolate. Very old school options and great new variations. Chocolate pieces by the pound is to die for in both milk and dark varieties. Standout for me was the chocolate- covered nuts and peanut brittle. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Pricing is standard for high- end shops so expect to pay for that chocolate heaven. A must go when in town. read more

Excellent quality and friendly staff. Large selection.store is hard to find but worth the search.

We had lived in Hendersonville, NC for years & this was my go to candy store for my husband who loves truffles. We moved away about 6 years ago & cannot find a candy store that even comes close! He used to be a huge See's fan & swears that Van's is better! I now online order for him & the shipping is quick! I have never had a problem & he is happy once again! read more

Ordered chocolate covered strawberries for an important annual catered event. The order wasn't ready at the time it was promised. Talked with staff and management, all of whom were very indifferent and practically rude, as though this was a run-of-the mill situation for them to not have the product on time. I had to order the product at incredible edibles, and they were able to meet my deadline in time for my catered event. I paid much more at incredible edibles but the product was top quality (far superior to the product at Vans). More importantly, the service was prompt, professional and friendly at Incredible Edibles, unlike Vans. Mistakes happen, but what was most disappointing about Vans is that when they dropped the ball on my order, they just didn't seem to care. Maybe when they realized they wouldn't have my order on time they could've proactively called. read more

The best chocolate covered strawberries that I've ever had. The toffee was fantastic. Very nice people to work with. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Wow! What a treat! Drove past the shop, did a U-turn when I saw the word - CHOCOLATE! I was not disappointed! Russ and his wife Peg make an outstanding product. No shortcuts here! They even had delicious sugar-free chocolates for hubs to enjoy. The shop is immaculate, Russ greets you at the door and gives a tour of the beautifully displayed candies! We enjoyed our chocolates on our road trip back to Texas. We plan to visit the shop again when in the area - meanwhile I'm working up an order on line. If you are in Hendersonville, NC...right on the way to Asheville, stop in Van's Chocolates - believe me you will be glad you did. Tell Russ I said Howdy. read more

Van's Chocolates - Even the box is attractive - sorry it's empty - all chocolates gone! - Candy Stores Near Me - Hendersonville, North Carolina

I was visiting the Carl Sandburg house with my family and other visitors overheard us talking about going to Kilwin's afterwards. They said we should go to Van's instead. Even the gift shop employee said Van's was really good, and they gave us directions. So we went off in search of Van's Chocolates with rather high hopes. On the bright side, it smells amazing. The shop is pretty large. Our visit was at the beginning of spring so there was a large selection of Easter chocolates. Since I had three kids in a candy shop I told them they could each pick 2 pieces of candy from the case (and I had one...). Anyway 7 pieces of chocolate came out to $9. Good grief. I just found the Godiva store of the NC foothills. The chocolate was fine, but I should have gone with my first choice, Kilwin's. read more

This is a nice chocolate shoppe where they make their own chocolate. It's off the beaten path and I wouldn't have known it was there if it weren't for the locals so they must be doing something right! read more

Their chocolates are very good. They make a thoughtful and appreciated gift. Customer service is iffy at best. The past times I've gone to purchase gifts, the woman behind the counter was kind of, sort of grumpy. I felt like an interloper even though I was there to make (and did make) a purchase. The most recent trip was about two weeks before Christmas. Mid-afternoon. Virtually empty. As I was checking out, I noticed two rolls of pretty wrapping paper. I commented but did not ask directly to have the boxes wrapped. No offer to wrap them either, even though I mentioned they were gifts. It was off-putting. Perhaps their good chocolate is how they get away with poor customer service. Just guessing. read more

Such a good place for chocolates. So many truffles to choose from, it's hard to make a decision! I'm usually a milk chocolate person here in the U.S. but have a new love for dark chocolate. It's closer to European chocolate, which I love. Definitely worth the stop. read more

Don't miss the chocolate pretzels and the truffles!!! We had the sea salt truffle. Such a great selection and large, open space so it's easy to feel comfortable going in to look. Also loved the chocolate covered marzipan, cherry chocolate bark and dark chocolate. Do not miss this place!!! High quality and we know our chocolate! read more

Love this place! The owner is so nice, and the chocolates rival any of the fine chocolates I have ever tasted. As a discriminating choc-o-holic, I feel I am well qualified to comment on this. It's located a bit off the beaten track, but it's worth the effort to find it. Their truffles are especially delicious. Proud to have such a fine place in our community, and I patronize it often to treat myself or to give as a gift. Highly recommended! read more

So glad that we decided to drop by. Russ, the Chocolatier, was very interesting to talk with about how the chocolates are all made in house. One piece is like enjoying a wonderful dessert. Wow! This is truly some of the best chocolate that we have ever tasted. Thank you Russ. read more

Amazing Chocolates.....amazing family. Looking at a prior review that seems to imply that Kilwin's is less expensive - it depends on what you decide to buy. The truffles in the case are a bit higher priced, but well worth it. Much better than Godiva or any other high end brand. And Van's has some great flavors. The cinnamon and the pomegranate are my two favorites. (If you decided on a truffle at Kilwin's it would actually cost more.) The owners, Will and Celeste (and their 3 beautiful children) donate a portion of the Van's profits to charity. I would buy from them on that principle alone, but it is just an added benefit to purchasing some of the best chocolate in the country. And trust me - I eat a lot of chocolate! read more

We stopped in to get a local gift for friends and this place was perfect! A wide selection of fresh, small batch chocolates made with quality ingredients. The owner was a joy to talk to, he is proud of his shop and for good reason! He supports other local business and gave us a free sample! I'm definitely considering this wonderful shop for future gifts and treats :) read more
