This is a very large location, and it surprises me every time how large it is. I came here tonight to get a pick up order I placed on my phone. They came out, loaded it for me, went over a missing item and I was able to get them to substitute it, and he was even kind enough to let me know I have a taillight going out. When I got home there was one more case of sparkling water than I had ordered which was a nice surprise and more than made up for having to substitute paper towels for the cheaper brand. My deduction comes from the lack of clear signs for where the pick up parking is, and because a lot of items were only one or maybe two to a bag. They could have used less bags for less plastic waste, and if there are signs for pick up they are hard to find/see at night.

I know what most will think seeing that I'm reviewing a grocery store... eh, who cares?…read more Well, I feel like it needs to get the attention it deserves. Living out in Newark, I'm basically restricted to Kroger (hell on earth) or Wal-Mart (that place you hang out before you make it to hell) and this little gem I decided to check out. Concept of it is, no advertising, no grocery bags, 100% recycling of materials and limited selection = lower prices. You can buy plastic or reusable bags or they will give you boxes if needed. The brands are mainly not really well known, the selection is just as you'd expect going into a store that is 1/8 the size of the other two places. But, it basically has everything you'd need in a basic grocery store trip. The veggies are fresh and local, a lot of the brands are local and for basic food staples - the prices are really amazing. I've made this my first stop for my grocery needs then I back-fill from the other locations as needed. Added bonus is the ladies working there are all super nice and the store is kept very clean.

And this one is fairly negative too. It's Walmart. So, chaotic parking lot, chaotic aisles, mentally disturbed customers (explains my presence,) staff who are former customers and just as clueless. I tried to pop in for three things. The place is so big there are multiple places for each thing, so you have to wander the whole store. Pillows? Three places that I saw, probably more. Oven thermometer? Actually, most of the kitchen stuff is in one place, so this didn't take too long. Health and beauty? All sorts of items scattered along one entire side of the front of the store. I would have asked for help at the pharmacy but there was a line, and I had to brave carts and customers at random angles in the aisles. I left as soon as I could. Which was awhile later, because half of the self-checkout stations were closed, and customers at a couple others had issues and were waiting for the clerk. Who was helping another customer install an app, and taking her sweet time. I heard her say "and it tells me how much time I save at Scan and Go" and bit my tongue before I asked if that was measured when all the self-checkouts were operational and available. Two stars because they did have most of what I needed, at reasonable prices. But I am questioning the life choices that led me here.

This is my local grocery store, so I shop here. Or have been anyway. However, I think I will start…read moredriving another 5 - 10 minutes away to another Kroger store and try my luck there. This store is terrible!!!! And it starts at the top with the manager, Cheryl...I'm not sure she knows what she's doing. Maybe this is a 'training' store and they just put people at this store to see how they do, like a test. Because she isn't the first one. This has been a poorly managed store for quite a while now. Before the pandemic!!! The shelves are never stocked well!! Even sale items, or especially sale items?! There is rarely a time that I have gone in there and left without 2, 3 sometimes 4 or more items on my list. The deli employees aren't very friendly but maybe I always catch them after Cheryl's been around with her sourpuss attitude. The problem is that I like the Kroger brand for a lot of items, not everything of course, but I don't particularly want to switch stores even tho I don't think Kroger has the best prices. I was looking for a particular item and they were out of it. Surprise. However, for this item I had even stopped at another Kroger store and they didn't have any either. This is something that I have started having for breakfast every morning and possibly the healthiest thing I eat some days :-) So, I actually got on the manufacturer's website to check and see if I could find some...somewhere. It was kinda late the 1st nite I looked and I didn't have any luck checking the Kroger stores. The next day I got back on the website and low and behold, now it showed that a shipment had been delivered to my local store "within the last 3 days". Yeah. I was thrilled. So, later that evening I went to buy some. Nada, zero, zilch. So, I went to the C/S desk to ask for help. Bless her heart, she tried to find someone to help me, to check and see if they had received a shipment. But, nobody would answer her page. Finally Cheryl called and was too busy to check but said to tell me that they didn't have any. Huh ? Now, I COMPLETLY understand that right now there are extreme circumstances...everywhere!!! I get that!!! I truly do. I also understand that this website I checked could be wrong. Had this been the 1st time I'd been unhappy with her or this store it would be a totally different situation. But it's not. Far from it. Oh and when I went to the store this last time, I left without 5 different things on my list. No, none of the items were cleaning products or toilet paper. And right now, with this pandemic, I only go in for a handful of things at a time. I try to get in and get out. I'm not a germaphobe or anything like that and the area that I live in hasn't had a high number of cases of this virus. But, why chance it. So when I go in for maybe 10 or 12 items and they don't have 5 of them, that's a lot. Now, I do want to point out that the CASHIERS are WONDERFUL!!! Friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. They'll go out of their way to help the customers!!! If it wasn't for them I would have stopped going to that store a LONG time ago!! Especially a few of the gals that have been there for awhile. The ones that work nites...
