Oh, Lordy. The…read moretraffic was awful, and I'd spotted this place on the way to work, so it was just too tempting on a hot day on the way home. It's adorable- all big trees and cobbles, and the most enormous goat I've ever seen in my life. Everything was planted up pretty, and little old guys scooting up on their mopeds for a scoop. I'm 99% sure this is the best ice cream in the land. You can choose from so many flavours, I had fanuttytastic and carrot cake, the latter was particularly exceptional, but I was also tempted by the white mountain, the banana, the Turkish delight, the sloe and damson gin, the elderflower and rhubarb and the maple and walnut- so I'll just have to come back, won't I?

ERMAHGERD this ice cream is amazing!…read more Seriously, Snugbury's is a one of a kind place. A small little farm-style set up with an onsite creamery and a shop selling no less than fourty, YES - FOUR-ZERO - flavours of ice cream and frozen yogurt. Once you've made your decision you can plonk yourself on the numerous benches or prostrate on the garden lawn (if you overdo it on the cream) and there is also a short country walk if you'd prefer to burn off some of your sugar intake. Every flavour is churned on site and given a suitably cheeky name (think B&J pre-Unilever). They also have seasonal limited editions like Summer Pimms and have previously partnered with a local Cheshire bakery for an apple pie ensemble (with whole apple pie churned into it!). In the interest of research (and gluttony) I opted for the double scoop, one of 'Driving me Cherries', a rich chocolatey flavour packed full of juicy fresh black cherries, topped off with the creamiest coconut ice cream I have ever tasted. Most importantly they give good cone - if you're a selling me an ice cream in a wafer cone, then frankly you can shove your wafer where the sun don't shine! I want a cone of equal calorific value to its contents and Snugberry's deliver with their crisp and sugary waffle cones. A right proper handful. Tactical ice cream tip: the servers are real pro's with their scoopage, filling the cone completely. So if you are going to get a double scoop ask for your favourite flavour first to get the most of it. Am I over thinking this? Possibly. Do I care? Not a chance.

We'd ride our bikes here, using the ice creams as treats and calorie deficits, or come here to see the alpacas and come for lunch. The place is a little farm, caravan park, campsite, with rabbits, cattle, poultry, alpacas, goats you can feed, sheep, allsorts, and a little chalet where you can have your lunch, or buy farm shop type goodies. Lunch is pretty basic, a few choices of soups, sandwiches, salads, and the beauties that are Staffordshire oatcakes. But hell, I know that's not what you're after. You guys want the icecream don't you? Well, it's awesome, get yourself a big fat banana split, a sundae, cones, tube, to eat in, or you can purchase little cinema style single serving tubs, or treat yourself to varying litres, yes, litres. I'm personally always a fan of a banana split, as I can pretend I'm not being completely awful to my waistline, and you get to pick three flavours. My current absolute favourite is the Jaffa cake icecream, I described it to my other half, and he said its description was more unnecessarily arousing than the old marks and Spencer's ads. This isn't just any icecream, this is: tiramisu, Turkish delight, vanilla, blackcurrant, tutti fruity, bubblegum, chocolate, blackcurrant and licorice, ginger and lime, cappuccino, strawberry, dulce de leche, banana, banoffee, mint n choc, cherry, honeycomb, and so so much more thick, creamy, jersey cow deliciousness. Ps; there's also an owl sanctuary...

There are loads of flavors, my favourites so far are raspberry swirl, humbug and honeycomb - yum yum yum! It's really cheap considering it is home made ice cream. You can buy it by the cone or in various sized tubs. Obviously the bigger tub you buy, the cheaper it works out per litre ( by the biggest!! He he ). There is a lovely field outside with picnic benches, perfect to drive, cycle or walk to. If coming from Stafford it is possible to get there on a cycle path, google it.

It was busy, which makes it all the more enjoyable - and the food and so-friendly ambience & service were a delight. There was a couple who are totally new to Broseley, and they were quite amazed that a town so small could boast somewhere like this. My loin of cod was nothing short of delicious, and the accompanying vegetables were each just so tasty and well textured that the whole thing was a treat - it demanded an ever-so-slow eat, with lashings of gentle oohs and ahhs - rather than a grab & guzzle. Of course, Davis & Trudi's place (Clays) is just one of several really worthwhile places to eat in Broseley. May it become a mini-centre for discerning munchers?

She lives in Telford and I'm not familiar with the area so I relied on TripAdvisor for ideas. By which I mean I searched restaurants in the Telford area and sorted by rating; Clays of Broseley was top of the list and that was what I booked. It's about a 20 minute drive from my mom's place through some beautiful Shropshire countryside. We arrived in Broseley a little early and found a parking spot just outside the restaurant. We were invited to take a seat on the terrace whilst they were opening and had some drinks. I had a fantastic homemade lemonade made with sparkling water, my mom had a rhubarb juice that was so tasty we took 4 bottles home with us and my wife had a very nice pot of tea. We had booked a table which had been laid out inside the restaurant for us but we were offered the table on the terrace for lunch which we gladly accepted as the weather was perfect. We all ordered from the lunch menu which at £19.95 for two courses and £23.95 for three courses was a fantastic bargain. I ordered Salmon and Hake fishcakes with tenderstem brocolli, asparagas and a white wine sauce and my wife and mom both ordered the Beef sirloin roast dinner. I was so impressed with the food. Honestly, this restaurant lives up to all the reviews. The ingredients were fresh and tasty and not plated pretentiously like you get some places. For dessert, my mom and I both had the "Rhubarb and Custard" and playful dish which combined rhubarb compote, jelly, vanilla cream and little meringues. Stunning. The perfect end to any Spring afternoon lunch. Throughout the meal, the staff (I'm sorry to say I didn't get their names) were attentive and friendly. Our 15 month old son, Henry, has a stinking cold and was teething so wasn't on his best behaviour but the staff were fantastic with him. They even went as far as bringing out one of their dogs, a beautiful, huge dog called Barney, for Henry's entertainment. To top it all, and this is massive for parents of small children, they had a full baby change unit, complete with nappies, wipes and nappy bags! I can honestly say I've never seen that anywhere else. All in all, for three mains, two desserts and drinks, the bill came to less than £75! Needless to say, I intend to visit again when we're next in the area. I genuinely cannot wait.

There was a lot of excitement locally, awaiting the opening of Moochie B's and they have not dissapointed us. As a big fan of all things sugary, I knew this was somewhere I would have to visit, particularly as it's a 5 minute walk from where I work and the fact the interior is pink! Inside there's a kind of American Diner feel, which I love. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Everyone who knows me knows that customer service is VERY important to me and again I was not dissapointed here. I also love the fact that this is a family run business. I heard on the grapevine that the manager/owner went to Italy to train to make gelato! Talking to him, it's clear he has a passion for it and was happy to discuss how the gelato was made and new flavours he was exploring. I asked about whether he would be doing diary free ice cream and was told that he was experimenting with this, but would also be offering sorbet at some point too. This made me VERY happy. The milkshakes seem particularly popular, but on my most recent visit, I had a fresh made waffle and gelato. Strawberries and cream come as standard, although I did not partake. The gelato was so creamy and full of flavour and the waffle was huge, so I was a very happy person.

My friend tried the savoury chicken crepe which he said was a little tasteless and i would have liked it a little more crisp, there was also a pathetic rotten looking iceberg lettuce on the side which looked rather unpleasant and i didn't eat. But the contents of the crepe was nice. The shop is very very big, maybe even too big. There is a small kids play area which is good to stop small children running around the shop for fun! But it can be full of kids and mums which is annoying if you want some peace and quiet. It was fairly clean, but not to my standard of clean. We were given a knife, fork and spoon held together with damp napkins, which looked cheap and nasty. I had also ordered a beetroot smoothie and was repeatedly asked if i wanted it made with frozen yogurt or soft serve. I wasn't sure what soft serve was so i asked the waiter to explain himself and he just kept saying its soft serve. i had no idea what it was. Then my friend pointed out its like a Mr Whippy van style ice -cream. Why couldn't he just say that? So i chose frozen yogurt. The smoothie was nice but i would prefer to have it with our any frozen yogurt or soft serve. There is a lot of choice with savoury options, a small selection of cakes, lots of different toppings for the pancakes, crepes and waffles. Price wise i think its very expensive. We had 1 Crepe, a small black coffee and smoothie for £14.00. Even for Harborne that is slightly too high, especially when this is aimed more at parents with children. I would return if I got a craving but I wouldn't rush back. Overall what I had was nothing special.

However, I do have a dark secret and that is my ice cream addiction. I can't put a finger on when it started, but just the sight of ice cream makes me turn into a hyper child pulling on my dad's sleeve to persuade him to buy me a Feast or a Mr Whippy. As soon as I saw the first photos of Paradice being added to Yelp, that was it - I HAD to go. A trip to Harborne for work was planned and I knew a trip to the Gelateria had to be a part of the day. After doing some work in Boston Tea Party in the morning, an ice cream was just what the Doctor ordered after my massive lunch as an afternoon pick-me-up. The venue is just up from the Junction and has entrances on both sides (both Vivian and High Street) and is bright, airy and large. One side has a small children's soft play area (to keep the kids busy) and the other has a selection of booths and chairs for visiting groups. After a long look at the selection (which is rather generous to say the least), I opted to go for the (now) legendary "Hello Kitty" mixed with cola millions flavour in a medium tub (£3.40). The gelato is lovely. Light, fluffy and packed full of flavour - it dances on the palate (even when it's long gone). I didn't feel aggrieved at the price for two scoops at all (and if I had, had more of an appetite might have opted for 3). The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in. I was offered tasters of different flavours to try before I chose and you could sense that they love their jobs (which is important, especially in the service industry). I will definitely be back to try more of their selection. I believe their Ferrero Rocher flavour is already calling me...
