I just went to Vanessa's on a recommendation from another shop owner in the neighborhood, and I'm writing this review minutes after walking out. This store is PACKED with all sorts of vintage finds. I bought a couple pairs of cool earrings! However, the real star of the show is Vanessa herself. She's absolutely amazing. I could have stayed and talked with her all day. My heart feels so full after talking to her. I'm so glad I made my way in and had the privilege of connecting with Vanessa. If you're looking to explore some treasures in a store owned by a gem, get to Vanessa's. read more

Was visiting my parents in Baltimore and wanted to visit a thrift store to find treasures before I went back home. Unfortunately lots of places are closed on Tuesday, not Vanessa's though! Immediately upon entering Vanessa's beautifully curated store, me and my mom were greeted very warmly. Everything is priced very fairly, with lots of adorable and one of a kind finds. Along with many wonderful stories from Vanessa, she also was very attentive and helpful. I would come back here or recommend this store in a heartbeat! read more

This store is definitely full of treasures! The owner is so nice and knows good quality as well as good finds. I stopped into this store on a short trip to Baltimore, and was glad that I did! I found beautiful China, linens, jewelry, and handkerchiefs. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Baltimore! read more

Vanessa Vintage Treasures - China - Antiques Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

I don't live in Baltimore anymore, but Vanessa's lives on in my life through my collections of vintage fabrics, planters, and table linens and jewelry that I've bought from her over the years. Her shop is truly one of the best in the country, but her prices remain accessible (part of the reason her shop is so excellent). Lately I've been quilting and sewing masks for the family with Vanessa's vintage fabrics. I need to make a pilgrimage to re-up! Love me some Vanessa's! read more

I've gotten so many wonderful things here! So much fun rummaging through fantastic vintage tablecloths and embroidered linens, then deciding which to take home to feed my eclectic addictions. Great quality and very fair prices. I find something new each time I drop in, conveniently located on Charles Street in the heart of Federal Hill. What - these drawers have odd old kitchen tools?! And copper tins over there?! Her front window is always fun and inspired - recently a 70s theme, on point. Vanessa is the real treasure here. I enjoy her warmth and conversation; a neighborhood gem. I'm also very happy to support a business locally-owned by a black woman. Keep the love (and cool vintage glass bottles) flowing! read more

Stumbled upon this shop when roaming federal hill! It caught my eye from across the street. My son and I walked in and were struck by the selections of incredible vintage pieces! So much packed into this space we could have stayed hours. Vanessa was awesome. A true joy to chat with. I purchased two pairs of earrings both so reasonably priced. Stop by and you'll be sure to find a treasure for you or someone you love! read more

Even if you don't come for the vintage treasures, definitely come for Vanessa. She's so warm, friendly, and funny--she is a treasure in herself! While the store is small, it's packed full of well-priced goodies and worth spending some time browsing. Definitely a staple of Fed Hill. read more

Vanessa is lovely and her selection is fabulous. If one picks through the chock-a-block store, one can find amazing pieces. She has excellent selection of jewelry, handbags and porcelain. The value is good and she can tell you about each piece (material) and how it came to her store. I bought two amber necklaces today and I am not a huge amber fan, they were that nice. Next time I will spend more time on the Bakelite bracelets. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed today's visit with Vanessa in her beautiful store! Incredible collection of various styles of well-priced vintage jewelry (including Bakelite, Italian millefiore, filigree, Mexican items, and more. And Vanessa herself is a wonderful person. I cannot wait to go again! read more

I'm really reluctant to write this review as I would love to keep this bevy of sparkles my little secret but I shouldn't be greedy. Vanessa amasses a great collection of vintage pins, bags, scarves, kitchen wear, jewelry, and linens. The clothing in the back is not as loved and are just so-so. Be aware she only takes cash or check. I usually use my walk to the ATM after picking out my purchases as my time to ask myself, "do I really need this double strand of pearls with fabulous flower clasp?". The resounding whirl of money spitting out at me pretty much sums up my trips there. read more

Great vintage finds at Vanessa's! She is kind and reminds you of an old friend. She is the broach queen! Lots of colors, metals and classics that make for great conversation pieces. I love that she wraps your broaches in a paper towel and secures it with a piece of scotch tape. Authentic and packed with care. read more

Vanessa is such a sweetheart and a pleasure to talk to whilst shopping. All of her items have a story and hearing them all is quite lovely! The shop is a little small so don't be like me and bring a huge handbag with you. I had so much fun browsing her store with my friends and I'll absolutely come back another time. It's important to support our small Baltimore shops. :) read more

This little shop is filled with treasures and is so much fun to explore. I purchased a pair of screwback earrings and a moonstone pendant. The owner is absolutely lovely, and I enjoyed chatting with her as much as I enjoyed browsing the stock. read more

Vanessa is such a lovely lady! The pieces in her store are beautiful, and she has plenty of amazing stories about the both jewelry and her life. Plus, she gave us a huge discount! If you want to find good vintage stuff from pre-1980, along with a good story, I would highly recommend coming here. read more

It's been too long since I've been to see Vanessa, but every experience has been a lasting memory, with the most beautiful 'souvenirs' bought each visit. She is always so excited to share her latest finds; for example, I remember inspecting her beaded bag collection (museum-quality, in my opinion)...with her guidance and enthusiasm and aesthetic genius, these wares are in the right shop while they await purchase. Her collection of china and dining pieces is delightful, as is her collection of jewelry. In particular, I always enjoyed her selection of linens. Some things may be haphazardly displayed, and you must tread carefully within such a small space, but if you have time to linger and savor, then please visit this idyll of a shop. It will transport you from the drear of the workaday world, and allow you to bring some beauty from the past into the light. read more

Vanessa is amazing!! The store is quaint, but packed wall to wall with gems. I enjoyed the atmosphere and how knowledgable Vanessa is. Next time we are in Baltimore we will definitely stop by. Thank you, Vanessa! read more

I agree with the last reviewer. I don't want others to know about this store. Vanessa has the best eye for fabric, vintage jewelery - especially Bakelite jewelery, depression glass, 1950s style planters, Victorian clothing and fabulous kitchen kitsch. I have bought so much here, fabulous rhinestone earrings for my wedding, aprons (she makes them out of vintage fabric and also sells authentic ones like my lovely Victorian lace half apron), plates, a sterling silver pencil holder, fabrics for pillows, pearl rhinestone necklace, little planters and vases and much more. If you have a project or an event, she will help you put something together. She is so nice and funny and warm and the prices are great. I am a huge fan! Her windows are also amazing. People have been known to buy everything in the window. read more

Fantastic little place with all kinds of great vintage gems. Take your time and really dig. Prices won't scare you away.

Love this store! If you are looking for one of a kind vintage treasures, don't miss this South Baltimore gem.

I wish I knew how this place was. I Ubered since it was raining so hard, and after getting there 40 minutes of traffic to go one mile, it was 6:10 pm. Online says they close at 7pm. The hand-written sign says "winter hours till 6:30 on Thursday" and another written sign that says "YES!!! We ARE open!!" But the lights were off and the door was locked well before the closing times. I rang the bell and knocked, alas, to no avail. I just had to stand there in the rain to get ANOTHER Uber to take me back. Thank you very much for wasting my time and money. I don't know how you run a business with inconsistency, but I can't imagine it would last. read more

She has quality stuff and reasonable prices. I love popping by to visit with her and browse.

Vanessa's the shop and Vanessa the owner herself are true, deep and wonderful finds. A previous reviewer commented that she was overpriced and this is patently untrue. Her initial prices are market equivalent or slightly lower and she almost always will cut a deal even if not asked. One last thing. Her shop moved 2 years ago and is now at 1028 south charles street . Find the shop and you will not regret it ever. read more

I've bought every Christmas present for my wife here for over 15 years. It is "THE" single best place in Baltimore. You can get inexpensive chic "paste" or more up scale antique jewelry and clothing/dishes/just plain cool stuff. It embodies that storefront treasure store you wish you knew about. Vanessa is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and HONEST!!!!. It's a must for any husband (or significant other) to get that special present that not only is great but shows that you cared enough to really look. It is also a great place for a girl's day out where you hit Fedreal Hill for lunch/drinks and then spend hours going through all the treasure. Since the stock is constantly changing, its always worth a visit. I grew up in NY in the 60's and remember going to the Village to places like this. fells Point in the early 70's had places like this. Its kinda like going to that store for magic wands in harry potter, only its jewelry and other cool stuff. You gotta see this place. read more

Vanessa Vintage Treasures is where I go to find authentic vintage and high-quality costume jewelry, linens, hats, small fashion accessories, handbags, and small housewares. This Federal Hill store has moved from the above address to another, just about two blocks away at 1028 S. Charles Street near Dan Bros. Shoes and the Market. The owner knows her stuff, especially period jewelry, and greets you warmly. Her prices are very fair - in fact often are below the market price I've seen on Ebay and at NY or Philly shops. If you are dressing for a gala, a party, or even just for the office, she has what you need and offers honest advice. Doing the Downton Abbey look? Go see Vanessa. The store attracts prop masters from film and TV and stage, and also performers looking for good costume bling that will make a statement. Collectors and fashionistas, too, go there to find jewelry that are unique that everyone else isn't wearing. It looks like every period from Victorian to the 1970s is represented. The displays are eye catching and delightful. Here are some pictures from a recent shopping event there: https://www.flickr.com/photos/131087261@N02/sets/72157650061133353/ read more
