I had lived at these apartments for the better part of 2 years, and there is a lot to unpack…read more
Since moving in, old management was fine, but then new management came and it was a bit of a doozy to get used to. 2023-2024, a lady pew-pewed her boyfriend or husband, and not even a grace period for our rent was presented. Obviously not required, but we didn't feel safe, and couldn't break our lease. The tenant turnover rate is embarrassing. People constantly moved in and out every other month we were there. The water would always be either too hot or dead cold, never warm. Our dishwasher didn't work, and the ventilation in the restroom was horrid (our tub and sink were in bad condition, and continued to break down in the course of our living there). We were told to deal with the mold ourselves, which we did, but once again, the lack of ventilation didn't help (we had to throw away our bath mats and a llama frame that was hung above the toilet due to severe mold accumulation). I was also once locked out of the parking lot because the gate was offline. It was 4 in the morning and I had waited 2 and a half hours, just for one of my neighbors to tell me that I had to try waiting by the exit, since that still worked. They never came to check up on our restroom sink, which had stopped working for 6+ months before we moved out. They said it had something to do with our boiler or main water line, but still never fixed it. They would also constantly turn off the water for "maintenance" but still never fixed our sink. We had a really bad roach infestation, mind you, we were really clean (constantly buying roach spray and traps) and even had a mouse. The mouse had eaten its way from under our kitchen sink, and we had asked the office to send someone down for pest control, fix our sink leak, and to patch the wall behind the sink. They came and "fixed" the sink, but forgot to patch the wall. Had to be called back up to patch it up. And when pest control would come, they would leave notes with nothing marked on what was done, or what time they came in. We also had a leak coming from our A/C unit that had drenched our carpet in water and the floor. We had submitted a work order about it to the office, and they said they had come to check up on it, and even later said they actually forgot to even check on it, so they had closed the work order without confirming the problem was fixed. There was also an on-site laundromat that would hardly ever work. Everytime I would put my clothes to wash, the washer would stop working, and the dryers would turn off, costing me 20 dollars in the process of refilling my balance on the app I used to wash. Parking was horrible. I remember when they remodeled the parking lot, and it was already a struggle to find parking, but that made it worse during the process of the remodel. They would never tow other cars that were broken down or visitors who were there too long with no visitor pass. INSTEAD, they towed my roommate's coworker's car when they had only been there for the night. The rent had also gone up. I remember when we first lived there it was at most 990ish(before utilities) for our 2B1B before new management came in and upped the rent (almost about 1200-1300 before utilities). Our fridge had also started breaking down and leaking right before we moved out. The only redeeming quality was that the power still worked during the storm (Beryl) and also the snowstorm early this January (2025). I wouldn't advise living here unless it is absolutely necessary or the last option.
Side Note: say what you want about the sink or tub being dirty on our part, but we didn't have much to work with due to the mold and peeling.
