But, it is Dr. Kurzynske who makes one feel like a real person with real value with real issues. He listens attentively, probes to ascertain issues, is not rebuffed by questions, and makes his patients feel like they've been heard and receiving the best medical attention and actions that a primary care physician could offer. He is knowledgeable and trusted to be current in that knowledge. He views patients as whole persons, physically, mentally, and emotionally. He sees the patient in context of their circumstances (i.e., impacted by needs resulting from work and family situations). His compassion is real and comforting. When I don't feel good and can manage to get away from work, I like to go straight there. There is usually only a short wait (less than 20 min) and I've been impressed with Dr Wolfe Sidberry and her partners there. I have used other walk on clinics and many are terrible. Dr Wolfe Sidberry is fast, efficient, and doesn't pull punches - good things in my book, but some may want a chit chattier manner. I prefer her style because she gets me well each time and doesn't ever waste my time. Outside of basic colds my daughter and I have used her for vaccinations, blood work, blood pressure management, removal of a tiny sty (that another doctors wanted to require general anesthetic for on my girl!), and successful treatment of a staph infection. I endorse Brentwood Family Care for its capable, efficient medical service to the community.

If this clinic wants to present itself as a mental health provider, leadership might want to revisit what "care" actually looks like. Walking in, I was immediately met with a barrage of paperwork focused on billing--making sure charges are clear to them, not to you. Not exactly the warmest introduction for someone seeking mental health support. The next interaction was just as impersonal. After giving my name, I was directed to step on a scale and provide measurements--no introduction, no explanation, no basic courtesy. It felt more like processing inventory than welcoming a person. Then came the actual "care" session. The provider launched into a rapid-fire explanation of all the ways the clinic can bill you, delivered with the energy of a fast-talking sitcom character. She shared that she knew I had already been given all of those details though just wanted to recap again. Then, she told me why she thought I was there which was not accurate. I asked her to slow down and please take the time to have dialogue instead of talking at me. She never asked meaningful questions or or make a genuine attempt to understand why I was there, which made any real conversation about mental health impossible. Overall, the experience felt dismissive, disinterested, and transactional from start to finish. The caregiver, in particular, seemed better suited to a role with minimal human interaction - perhaps guarding an empty museum wing, because meaningful engagement was clearly not part of the approach. I am genuinely appalled and disturbed this clinic presents itself as having any aptitude in mental health care. None of them demonstrated an ounce of intellectual curiosity or communication skills which should be critical in caregiving roles.

Dr. Wei tried various treatment methods and would not stop until I completely got well again. He is very persistent and caring and he takes his time to explain to you what is the issue and what it actually means to your health. I have even been to him to have a complete physical done and he called me himself to tell me the results. My Dad had a nasty cold last winter and one day Dr. Wei ran into my Dad out in public and took the time to ask him is he was better and if his cold had gone away completely. The man really cares about his patients. The rest of his staff are great too. Everyone is very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Note: One of the nurses told me that Sunday is probably their busiest day of the week and sometimes they have so many people that when the waiting room gets full, people have to line up outside in the hall to wait for their turn. I like to go on Saturday mornings because it is usually not that long of a wait to see Dr. Wei.

Dr. Rudge himself is really great - I've had to visit him a few times, and even the times when the other doctors or nurse practitioners saw me, they were all very knowledgeable and helpful. If I did not have a confirmed appointment that her system informed me was CONFIRMED, I would not have driven all the way from Lebanon to see her. The worst part was, she provided no solution and only made it seem like it was my fault there was a mistake. (rudely and in front of everyone in the lobby, I should mention.) My rating for The Center for Restorative Medicine is based on the initial appointment policy. I was…read moreplanning to schedule a new patient appointment with Dr. Michael Bernu, the center's founder and clinical director. In the process I learned that he keeps the entire $1,200 fee, which is paid in advance, if a patient cancels with less than 3 business days' notice. Now I understand that his time (like his patients' time) is valuable, and some people may not show up or cancel at the last minute. In such cases a reasonable cancellation fee may be appropriate, but to keep the entire $1,200 fee for doing nothing is disappointing and does not, in my opinion, reflect well on his character. In his new patient paperwork explaining this policy, there is no provision for returning all or a portion of those funds if a different patient can be scheduled for that time, nor is consideration given for emergencies. So, he could keep $1,200 fee and charge someone else another $1,200 for the same time slot, pocketing $2,400 for a 3-hour consultation. When I found out about this policy, I lost interest in seeing him and decided to look elsewhere for my healthcare needs.
