We discovered Horizon when we were in Vancouver for vacation and have since made it a point to book an appointment every time we come back to Canada. I agree with everything the first Yelper said. We've always had Lianne as a our therapist, and she's wonderful--her whole demeanor is chill. The last time, I called to inquire about infrared therapy (since it's listed on their service menu on Google). Lianne wasn't sure about the infrared treatments so she said she'd investigate and call me back. And SHE DID. I really appreciated the follow up. (Note that this treatment is not currently offered.) The spa is down some steep stairs so take your time if you have mobility issues. There is a bathroom upstairs that you access with a key. And the spa itself is small. Just a tiny waiting room and one massage table that I know of. Prices are reasonable and lots of hot towels are used. Highly recommend!

She created a personalized plan that catered to my exact wants and needs, and even hooked me up with some amazing skin care to keep my skin looking fresh and smooth. Honestly, I have to admit I was really nervous beforehand. I hate needles and I didn't know if I would be able to handle getting Botox and lip filler. First of all, when I went to the store for the first time the consultation did not seem legit. She offered me a "discounted" price for a service and did not even really explain to me what it is. I did not even know what the original price was so I don't think that the discount was legit. Mary is a great person don't get me wrong. She offers a lot of samples for you to try. Although, she does reuse containers and did put one sample cleanser in a cleaning agent container used for surfaces which does not seem safe. Like can't you just get proper sample containers? She also mentioned that There was a discount for Black Friday for the website that they talked about but, I did not see the sale on the website at all and shipping for products takes forever to arrive. The products that they have are good quality but pretty expensive. There are a lot of affordable skin care products out there. As I gain more knowledge about skin care I've realized that she did not recommend a sunscreen for me or charted any of the products that are recommended or purchased. This would cause confusion on what products to buy. And not a lot of explanation on how they all worked. She also recommended to use exfoliating gloves everyday which seems way too harsh for the face as I think about it. She also answered a phone call during my facial in the room. The front desk lady is always great to talk to and they phone you a reminder for your appointment which is efficient. Very clean place and they have a Great selection of products in the store.

I didn't think that was great, but I tried to be optimistic and booked. Well, I work on call, as I'm sure many of us do in these lovely economic times, and I figured if I called 3 weeks in advance to cancel an appointment, a rejig might be possible. Yeah right. In September or October (I called in July). Eek. Now here is the kicker... maybe like little old me, you are thinking, hey maybe a small business owner just got in over her head on one of these group deals... sold a few too many vouchers. BUT... I was really dismayed to that in mid-July, the same pedicure offer came up on another voucher site. I'm sorry, but if you're so overbooked that you are fully busy for 2 months ahead without any openings at all, I can't really respect taking on more voucher clients. I don't really like to have to schedule my pedi appointments months in advance like I'm having a surgery. p.s. To be fair, the owner has always returned my phone calls and is pleasant to deal with. I would really be happy to try the pedicure service and review it fairly if I can ever get in. It's not looking likely.

Despite waiting two months, she cancelled our appointment a few days beforehand. We decided to take the refund instead of rescheduling with her as we had another swarmjam voucher to use with her the expiry date. It took a little bit of coordination to actually receive the refund as she was not at her store as her business hours stated but in the end we did receive the refund. While getting the refund, we booked our next appointment (first opening 1.5month later) and when we arrived, there was no one there and the door was locked. It looked like she was ready for us as a chair was out for the pedicure but we waited 25min. (almost half the appointment length!) and she still had not arrived. We phoned several times and left several messages but have not received a call back. We had two appointments booked (one for myself and one for my mother) and she did not call either one of us despite our messages - our appointments were several days ago. We will probably be inquiring about a charge back through our credit card company to receive our refund. The owner's attitude seemed exasperated when we tried to book our first appointment and she commented that she would never do one of these voucher things again as if she was annoyed with all the people trying to book and schedule appointment - this negative attitude has been seen throughout our entire experience with dealing with this woman. I definitely do not recommend this business. I will update when I actually receive my refund.
