Let's start with the ambiance - low lighting, friendly din, and an implacable wood fragrance almost like incense. The staff were quick, accurate, and good-humoured.
THE FOOD - He defaulted to his usual rib-eye steak, and says it's the best he's had in a while. I had the hot ribs, which feature an almost carribean-jerk style rub topped with julienne leeks and red peppercorn, accompanied by a white garlic sauce of some kind (perhaps yogurt). I cannot rave enough about these ribs. They were perfectly meaty, moist, and beautifully flavored! They've even converted my fiance, who insists that next time I'll have the rib-eye so he can have the hot ribs. ;)
