Driving home today from work, I was at the intersection of Nevada and Fillmore that was under construction. The road went from a 2 lane to a 1 lane, so after merging, I did my best to make room for anyone trying to make a turn without interfering with oncoming traffic; might I add there was not much time to merge, but that's beside the point. A red work truck with a trailer with the name "Colorado Stoneworks Landscaping" on the side drove by me and flipped me off. Now for what, honestly have no idea. After continuing down this single lane road, it turned into a 2 lane road so I moved over to proceed past him with every intention of moving on, but nope, he decided to swerve back and forth with a swaying trailer between lanes to prevent me from passing him. A dangerous move in a company vehicle. The biggest disturbance to me was when he took the time to slow down, causing traffic behind him now, and started making sexual faces towards me once he realized a woman was driving. I warned him to stop otherwise I will contact his boss, which I gladly will tomorrow when they open. He gave me a "" and proceeded to continue with sexual faces and to flip me off, while driving and looking directly at me. He then pulled into a Maverick shortly after. So this review is just to notify other customers of Colorado Stoneworks Landscaping, that if you see a red work truck with a driver, whom I assume is the foreman, with longish brown hair (I know, a dull description) just know his scrotum is tucked real far up his own a$$ to disrespect what could have been a customer, let alone a women. If that were one of my employees in my company truck going that far as to swerve with my property, just to be an a$$hole to a women who is just trying to get home with no problems, let's just say that would be an end to his driving privileges at the minimum. I tell you what...I believe I found a winner with Colorado Stoneworks Landscaping. I am a 27 year veteran serving at Peterson AFB, and because of my busy work schedule it was important for to me to hire a company that was reliable, proficient and knew what they were doing. Tannan was the owner and he really cares about customer satisfaction. From the estimate, to the design, then planning and actual implementation the process was extremely smooth. Colorado Stoneworks had all the right tools, along with the experience and skills to meet the customer requirements...it really is great to work with true professionals that take pride in their work! Instead of just replacing the wooden stairs, they actually flared out the design so that the stone staircase looks more integrated with the house...awesome job! In Colorado Springs, there may be companies that charge less...but you get what you pay for. If you want a job done right at reasonable costs, then look no further than Colorado Stoneworks. I first hired them to start up my sprinkler system since we were new to this house. What I…read morepurchased was: Sprinkler Turn-on/Tune-up - $85 up to 12 zones $5 ea additional Zone. Service includes activating the water supply, inspecting the sprinkler system for leaks, checking each zone for proper operation, adjusting sprinkler heads for proper coverage, and setting the sprinkler clock for the appropriate watering schedule. I ask The 2 gentlemen who were out if they checked all heads to ensure operating correctly and each zone was covered. They of course said yes and charged me almost 200 instead of the 85. Ask why and it was a piece that he had took off and couldn't get back on so I was stuck paying for it. Once they left within a week I had to replace 4 heads and reposition my sprinkler heads because it wasn't done like I paid for. Fast forward to today I ask them To come out for a professional mowing and edging as well as picking up a pile of pine needles I raked up. When they called me for payment I was close by so I said I would come by and look at it to ensure it was correct. Unfortunately when i got Here the back was partially weed eat and I was told that the yard curves so they just count that as flower beds. Now let's get to the edging - looks like they attempted to get it but just finally gave up and left me with a worse lawn than before. I thought A professional company would come out and make it look professional instead of 2 kids and a bike look. The person out today told me after he mowed that my yard will need another mow in 2 or 3 days....what? You don't know how to lower your blade depending on the yard? Severely disappointed in the work and they have got me 2x now and a third won't happen. So today's cost for a mowing, edging and picking up a pile of pine needles - less than 1 bag already raked in a pile was 126.00 80 for mowing and 46 for picking up the needles. Do yourself the favor and steer clear of this company unless you want to overpay and then pay a second company to fix it.

We decided to update our backyard by getting rid of several bushes and eliminate an area where our dogs would track in dirt from the mud. After an initial consultation and several bids, we opted for Eric And Bree. The reviews on several sites were all positive and after being left in bad situations with other vendors we proceeded cautiously. Bree and Eric were fantastic to deal with and Eric's team was courteous and professional. The team actually functioned as a high performing team. They rarely took breaks and they cleaned up the area throughout the process. We started initially with a small problem in terms of the area that I wanted turf. But it was never and issue, Eric went and purchased the additional turf and Bree quickly updated the quote which was still well under the other two bidders. The pictures say it all here and the transformation has been incredible. Everyone that comes over cannot believe how amazing the turf is. The attention to detail and making sure the turf was tailored around each rock and tree was great to watch. The team takes great pride in their work and Eric's leadership made the project a no worry event. The turf is easy to clean, my blower is my main tool getting the leaves and pine needles off. We have already had our first snow and no issues. Cannot wait to work with Eric and Bree next Spring on hopefully adding a putting green with a sand trap! For the investment, I could not be happier with the end result and think it will be a huge value when we decide to sell our home. Jack's response…read morewas based on me lowering my review, now that my yard is maturing and more problems have appeared and a bad year of cleaning up messy fruit from a tree that should never have made it into the yard. Had he planted what I had signed off on in the proposal, I wouldn't have revised my review to warn others. Better to read a review based on history instead of one week after installation. There were only two things I was very specific about when planning my landscaping. 1) that there be NO fruit bearing plants in my yard and 2) that the plants used were animal friendly. Don't know why he bothered to take pictures of my front yard, other than to confirm I take great care of it, because his pictures don't address issues in my reviews. Regarding the trees, 3 of the 6 trees he planted ARE fruit bearing. One, unfortunately, turned out to be a Dolgo Crabapple. Yes, it's pretty to look at in a picture from afar, but it is AWFUL, MESSY, and very specifically what I told him I did not want. Four plants placed in the backyard are huge bee attractants. While I think it's great to plant these, it's probably not best to plant them right next to the patio or door causing dozens of bees flying around next to living space all summer. These will have to be torn out after they go dormant this fall. He stated that I signed off on a proposal. Perhaps he should go back and look at that proposal before making inaccurate statements. He never provided me with the actual layout until a month AFTER the work was completed, I agreed to his proposal based on a picture he sent to me. Almost nothing that he planted in my yard is what he said he was going to plant, nor is this tree the fruitless Snow Crab I signed off on in the proposal. I'm OK with things being fluid, as long as he followed the two things that were important to me, which he didn't. I told him numerous times, from the first time we met, after I saw the picture, before and after planting, that I did not want ANYTHING fruit bearing. When I pointed out that I saw little fruit on the trees already, he swore to me up-and-down that they were fruitless. So for him to say I never told him is a flat out lie. BTW, "our team" is one person. Jack. Because I didn't feel the need to go into every single detail, I neglected to mention that I replaced five plants in the front yard and three in the backyard because they did not survive the first winter. These were supposed to be guaranteed, but based on his lack of response in replacing the tree that died within the first month of him planting it, I wasn't interested in playing more phone games with him never returning my calls. People planning on hiring Naturescapes should pay CLOSE ATTENTION so that you get what you think you are going to get, regardless of how friendly he is or how he says he's going to do something, and BUYER BEWARE if you have problems and expect Jack will follow up with you, as any reasonable business owner would, because he has a pattern and history of vanishing and if you have problems. I have added a picture of the two year old "fruitless" tree and a plum bush that started bearing fruit this summer. Imagine this in five more years and a thousand fruit bombs all over the yard! What a total mess. These have been torn out before they got any worse. He cares about new business but it's too bad he doesn't put the same amount of energy into resolving problems that he puts into trying to get people to remove their negative reviews. Sad when a business owner thinks it's a good idea to attack clients rather than acknowledge and address shortcomings in his business practices. What would be my point in writing a review like this for no reason? 80% of my reviews are 3 star or above. He is one of a very few that warrants one star, which comes after redoing a bunch of his work. Perhaps he should read my reviews before he makes bold yet inaccurate statements about them. Final note, I had written a Google review similar to my first yelp review (before I was a Yelper) and yet somehow that review, as well as many similar negative reviews, mysteriously keep disappearing. All his Google reviews are recent? Not so. Be sure to check out his reviews and D rating on Angie's List, as well. Same pattern of no response to problems. Not every person has problems with their landscaping, nor does everyone post publicly, but I have several neighbors with similar complaints with Naturescapes. I read a comment a couple days ago in a different forum which stated they reported him to the BBB and required mediation. That, too, is hidden from the public. It's a good thing that Yelp does not remove reviews based on business owner requests, but unfortunately Jack isn't learning anything from these repetitive negative comments to fix what's broken. Not one word in this review is "slander", Jack.
