Some people say things are expensive there, but if you compare to some online stores in the Netherlands, it's the same price (at least for some calligraphy supplies; can't say about the rest). I was told for such a small amount I could only pay by cash or debit card. I didn't think that €17 was a small amount and I didn't want to use either! I was told it would cost them €3 for the transaction, which seems a ridiculously high charge from a credit card company. I'm here on vacation and have a good credit card that gives me the best rate of exchange and no fees, so I always use it for my travels. Sadly, they were happy for me to walk out with out spending anything or even considering returning for future purchases. I definitely won't be back.
