They also close all the fitting rooms so you can't filter through your selection before purchase. They go by the discounted price, therefore it's a return and not the advertised exchange. Passing through we happened to stop by this thrift store. Great place to find souvenirs. Lol. If the price is right of course. Anyway. This place was well organized and pretty decent compared to other thrift shops. Its pretty huge too . One thing I noticed was that its similar to the Savers thrift store in Vegas so when I checked out I tried my Savers club phone number and surprisingly it worked. Overall. Nice store. read more

I used to shop at Value Village all the time but honestly the prices seem to keep going up for the years. Don't get me wrong, If you dig enough you'll find a good deal but sometimes I wonder if it's worth the time. If you're desperate, it's the way to go. The sales are always good especially there 50% on the holiday weekends. The customer service is pretty bad. Not as bad as Bishops Attic in Palmer but the staff is pretty miserable and rude. They announce they're closing 30 minutes before, and then will come up to everyone all nasty and be like "you heard that, right? We are closing soon". If you ask for help or anything of the staff they roll the eyes and basically throw a fit. It's a little over the top for me. Back when I worked retail we weren't aloud to approach customers like that to remind them of the time until 15 minutes AFTER we had closed. I get they want people to leave on time but man. Be professional. About the merchandised, I almost always find something to buy. It's tricky picking through all the stained, ripped and total trash to find the good stuff but I suppose it's the price you pay for cheap stuff. I rate it at 2 stars for two reasons: 1. They run on donations and yet they charge $20 for a 10 year old, used, stained out of fashion sweater. They're ripping off the same people who donate and support their business. 2. Value Village in, Wasilla, AK, harasses people when they say they are "closing in a few", to the point they threaten to call the cops and stalk you throughout the store. I am so disappointed with this company! They rip people off like crazy. They get most of their donations from the people that they are ripping off! They don't have a return policy. So every penny you spend they keep. You can only exchange your iteams which you have to get the same amount your exchanging for... which is difficult if you can't find anything but one thing. They cannot give you money back. You also have 14 days to exchange your iteams. Due to the whole covid situation they took away they're fitting rooms so now you can't try anything on to . And the already used iteams that 1,000 of people donate they don't let you try on in their store because of covid. yet they get all there used clothes from 1,000s of different people wore the iteams. Honestly it's all a big profit for them with the whole "covid". I will never donate to an organization like this nor will I shop with them again either!!! The employee told me to go onto there website and leave my opinion there about ever... but I looked and they didn't even have a link to do that. So I decided to do it on here. I purchased a pair of jeans and some other clothes here after being told by two young female employees that I could return them if they did not fit since the dressing rooms were closed due to Covid. I only completed the purchase after obtaining this information because I am very picky with jeans. I came to return the pair of jeans today and the manager, Stephen, rudely advised me that their policy was to exchange only. I browsed the jean section and did not find anything worth taking home again since their dressing rooms were still closed, and I felt a little betrayed since their policy "changed" from what I was told when I made my initial purchase. I told Stephen I was not happy to have been sold jeans under false pretense, and he called me a liar for my "story" on what his two employees told me and told me if I filed a dispute with my bank and did not take the unwanted jeans out of the store that I would be banned from shopping there. Stephen also felt it necessary to make the snarky remark "Try taking something back to Walmart, Target, or anywhere else in the valley." I work retail for another local store, and have made a return to Target since Covid started... Their employees and my employees were both honest and kept their word. My mom shopped with me on my initial trip and recalls the two employees' statements on returning the jeans. Value Village has lost my business. I will shop at other local second hand stores who have employees with more integrity and honesty. read more

I came in and found the store to be clean and decently organized. I found a nice antique serving platter from England for $5, so score. I will say the couple of clerks looked at me blankly when I asked a question, and it looked like English was their first language, so I'm not sure what that says about them or Wasilla in general. Overpriced on used items. I've been in several times and they seem to think used cost more than new. They also like to put broken used stuff on the shelf and cover the spot to put new batteries in with their price stickers and you have to remove the sticker to put in the batteries, but when such item doesn't work and you go to return it, they throw a fit and make it seem like it's your fault that you had to take the tag off to test the item. Manager was VERY rude. There are better second hand stores out here. Save your time and money. Not worth it. read more
