This store has gone down hill...no more changing rooms to try on, and the 'you can return for swap or store credit' is pathetic, especially if you live an hour away. Selection was slim, especially in sizes. Lots of jeans, t-shirts etc. but limited in any other styles. Value not great. The gentleman overseeing checkouts was a pompous git, who felt it was his right to interrupt private conversations and when asked a simple question had to be cut off as he just became irritating - I can only imagine how annoying he is to work with! He thinks his vest makes him so important....he also stated Valu Village no longer a registered charity - they will charge tax! Store 'forces' the use of self checkout as there was no other option available - I am not paid to do someones job, just so corporate can save money and increase their paychecks! This store mistreats customers who do not want yo use self check outs. The manager Cathy says its store policy that we all must use them ?!! It is not this way in other stores .. jusr a few are really pushing hard on this. She told me just to accept it as this is the way society is now .. I will NOT. Way over priced they are suppose to be a used thrift store like goodwill. That is how it started now they are just greedy. People who can not afford new prices and need somewhere to go to get things they can afford. I was in there and for the prices they charge for the condition of somethings I would rather pay the extra few bucks and buy brand new. If they keep this up they will go out of business. I was in the London south location on June 22, 2024. I had not been in for awhile but was sent a coupon in an email so that I would come in again. I bought three items and went to pay and NO CASHIERS. I HATE using self checkout and it took me some time to figure it out and I was not going to ask for help yet there were three employees standing socializing at the front window and I know they seem my annoyance but no one even asked if I needed help. They looked so stupid just standing there while I have to do their work. You should be paying your employees to actually work as I am not here to do their work.Think you are saving money by pushing the work on the customers yet you are paying 3 people to stand around and do nothing. Don't get the math there????? You should be making my experience easy so that I am interested in supporting your business but after yesterdays issue I will no longer shop in your store. Other businesses can have at least one cashier open and it should be my choice which way I pay not your way. I have a small business and my customers are number one. It just seems anymore that big business only care about the profit and not making the customer experience easy and a pleasure to come in and shop so you have now lost yet another customer that used to love to shop at Value Village. Prices are also getting a little out of hand for used items. I looked at pet food dishes and I can buy a NEW one at Dollarama cheaper than in your store so that doesn't make any sense either. Wow, for a store out in the edge of the city, you'd think the prices would be much cheaper. Not so. Jeans here started at 13.99 and they were selling comforters starting at 18.99! You can get those brand new at those prices. I came because of their 50% off sale. I just left with some books because the pricing was uniform (99 cents). Mom got only one sweater and pants. This store is an example of why people are angry with Value Village pricing. read more

Im so pissed off i went to this location today.i wanted a blaket first this the sizes were not on them so u have to guess.i grabbed the one i wanted spoke to a sales lady on the floor asking what do i do if thier is no tag mind u i had another blanket with a tag she told me to bring it up to cash and they would be able to help me.i told her the other one was $8.49 she uniformed me that the one i have should also be.so i get to cash thinking its the price she told me so the cashier calls the manager he comes up and says hold on.he comes back with a 16.99 price tag i told him what the sales lady said and he says oh she should not have said that.i asked him how do u figure uts 16.99 he says thats are starting base price i said thats bullshit they start a 8.49 so i said fuck it.i will never return. read more

For second hand clothing I expected much cheaper prices. Some items are priced higher than if you bought them brand new. Others you might as well spend the extra few and get brand new. Also the fact that they sell second hand underwear really grosses me out. That is just wrong. read more

Value village is no good the prices are way to much this is a second hand store.you can get some stuff at the mall for the same price and it's new.i went last year with my mother and never again..she was looking at a glass candy dish had to tags on it one for $5 and one for $14 so I went up and asked and they told me they want $14 for it....rip off place read more

You may be able to find a gem or two in this store, which I have, but buyer beware. The prices here are relatively high compared to other thrift shops. Jeans and pants for $12.99 and up! (I bought a leather Danier skirt at Goodwill a few weeks ago for $6.99 and American Eagle jeans for $7.99...the same price as some pajama bottoms at Value Village!) Even the Rubbermaid and Tupperware containers were ridiculously overpriced. Really know your prices and look thoroughly. I leave this place as a last resort when there's something in particular I am looking for. read more

Double check your receipt before you leave the store if you are a senior shopping on Tuesdays. I am a Senior so I shop on Tuesdays. I went to the store Dec. 20 and when the total came up,I knew that it was wrong, but I had to go and pick up my grand daughter, the roads were bad and I didn't feel that I had nearly enough time to go through the line up again and fix the problem. I then became ill and was sick until well into Feb. The first Tuesday that I felt well enough to drive the 25 whatever miles to the Value Village, I attempted to fix the problem with the receipt. Note that I was not returning anything. I simply wanted to be charged the proper amount for what I had bought. Although I specifically told the check out lady on Dec. 20 that I was a senior, she charged me full price for the entire order. Also, I had bought one bag of Christmas decorations. The Christmas decorations had gone on 50 % off sale on Dec. 18, but I was charged the full price. A few weeks ago, when I tried to get this fixed, the checkout lady wouldn't help me because it was past the time stated on the receipt to return things. I pointed out that I wasn't returning anything. She called a manager who was rude. If I couldn't make it in during the specified time frame for a return, I should have called. Was I too sick to call? My answer is that after about two weeks, I probably could have called, but what was I going to say? "There are mistakes with my receipt but I have no clue when I am going to be able to get to the store to deal with it." Would that have made the slightest difference? I have contacted the customer care centre and they say that they have contacted the store to deal with it, but it has been weeks and I haven't had any emails from the store, apologies, nothing.
