I really like my current optimist, but the eyeglass store he's associated with is just too pricy. I went to ValueSpecs, and told Marie (she' super) about my budget. She steered me to frames that were much more reasonable in price and saved me over $200 from the other store. The lenses are perfect and were ready in less than a week. The three people at VALUE SPECS are a phenomenal team . they treat you like a king and queen . the eye doctor was the most thorough one I've ever had . Jay is very knowledgeable , kind and efficient and the woman helped me pick out a frame. I must've tried on 1000 but she never complained . she was nice as she could be and patient. I will never go anywhere else for an eye doctor . it was a wonderful experience it didn't take all day . they treated you well. For those of you that think that Valuespecs is going to be a cheap place, it is certainly is not expensive and the quality of the glasses is not cheap either. I saved almost $150 on identical glasses that I had bought at America's best within the last 18 months. The eye exam was the most thorough exam I have ever had in the 40 years that I'm wearing glasses. They originally told me my glasses be ready in 4 days, in reality they were actually done in 2 days I picked them up today and they are fantastic, no complaints at all If I could give more than 5 Stars I would read more

After going to lens crafters for so many years and over paying for lenses and frames I finally searched the great sea of yelp for a new spot to help me see better ;) ValueSpecs did a great job! Their prices are fair and competitive. I came in with a pair of frames I purchased online and they were able to add my prescription into them beating les crafters price by $250 dollars! They took the time to explain my prescription to me and properly fit my frame . I will definitely be back! read more

Jay, the owner (yes, it's owned by a real person not a huge corporation) and his small staff are always friendly helpful and professional. ValueSpecs carries a good selection of frames, and incredibly will get you single vision glasses, frames and lenses for about $30! That's not a typo that's 30 bucks! I've been sending friends and acquaintances there for years and have only received "thank yous" for the recommendation. My husband needed new glasses. We searched high and low and everyone we called required a 2 week wait for the transition glasses to be ready. We came to this place and the service was great. The owner is very knowledgeable and the nice lady who helped us couldn't be nicer. The price was right and the the glasses will be ready in 4 days. We even got a 2nd. Pair. If you are in a budget they have $15 frames but we decided to go with the high end ones. Including the prescription and frame ended up paying $250 for each pair of glasses. I know other places offer $99 promotions but we didn't want to deal with the restrictions and long wait time. read more

Valuespecs provides service and a great quality product at a low price, a combination of qualities that is rare these days. In my case, it was truly a lifesaver. My elderly dad had fallen and hit his face, breaking his glasses. I was only there for 5 days to be with him and needed to get him new glasses which were bifocals. Valuespecs were able to do this and believe me, there was no other place able to accomplish this in this day when everything is outsourced. Three people worked together on what my dad needed. Dr. Smith was able to examine him and Jay ended up getting his prescription from his broken glasses. Shelly helped him get the frames that were the best for him in fit and with spring arms for sturdiness. All treated my dad (who is severely hearing impaired) with patience and respect. It was such a great experience (and value) that I ordered a pair of reading glasses as well! To top it off, when my dad's glasses were ready at a local place they use for the bifocals but not set to be delivered until after I needed to get to the airport, Shelly went and picked them up herself so I could get there with my dad to be fitted before I left. As a side benefit, I picked out a great pair of clear frames for myself that look like Warby Parker for $29.99 (they were a simple prescription) that were ready in a day and I feel like I see better in them than my expensive glasses from Boston. By the way, my dad's were bifocals and cost $129 with poly-carbonate lenses. I believe in supporting local businesses and Valuespecs make it easy. I can't thank them enough! read more

First of all, how refreshing it is to get friendly, courteous, polite, and knowledgeable service these days! Now, I just needed an extra pair of glasses because the frame on the ones I had were broken. So, it wasn't like I was looking for the Holy Grail. But ValueSpecs performed above and beyond the call of duty -- I found a nice pair of frames within minutes, got great advice on saving money and getting good quality for the lens, and ended up paying a fraction of what I was expecting!
