Great hotel experience and amazing staff!…read more My friends were originally planning to have their wedding at the A&M botanical gardens but then it started pouring rain that morning. The staff at the Stella was so kind and allowed us to use their speakeasy bar for the ceremony and it couldn't have been more perfect! Dawn was an incredible help and coordinated everything that morning. She also made sure people didn't walk in during the ceremony. Pam was just a blessing helping do everything at the last minute like setting up the Bluetooth music, pinning the boutonnière on the groom and even fixing peoples hair unprompted. She knew exactly what we needed even when we didn't. Truly exceptional! We also stayed at the hotel and had a problem-free time. We ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was good. They also have a beautiful waterfront to sit or play in front of. Highly recommend The Stella!

Rooms are spacious and large with a comfortable bed. The bathroom is large although I found the shower a bit odd as there is no floor spacing with the shower area as there is no separation from the drain. So if you shower, have the curtain up and hope that the water doesn't accumulate. The exercise room is pretty big with complimentary towels and water bottles although the exercise machines are right in front of the windows so the sun may shine on you as you're trying to attack the treadmill. The pool area is spacious with plenty of lounge seats. There's also cornhole in the massive yard next to the lobby; a nice touch. Parking is complimentary with valet parking available. There's a few shops/restaurants nearby that you can dine at if you don't want to venture further out in the Bryan/College Station area. I'd be open to staying here again as this was one of the more impressive Marriott properties I've encountered.

But here's the thing--when something goes wrong at a hotel and they make you a promise to fix it, they should actually fix it. That hasn't been our experience here. In 2023 we had some legitimate issues, such as there was a minibar charge made on our account when we didn't use the minibar, restaurant service that was frustratingly slow, a broken light in our balcony. When I wrote about it, management responded by offering us a free night--in writing, no conditions mentioned. We said 'thanks, we'll take you up on it when we're back in town.' Fast forward to now. Every time we we've tried to use it, something new comes up. The examples below are ones I can document (there were other verbal conversations I can't full reconstruct): * First it was football weekends (which, fair enough--but that was never mentioned when they made the offer) * Then a separate "special event" exclusion got invented when a non-football event came to town for a date we were interested in * Then I picked a date off their own list of available dates offered by one of their managers, and I was told now all the sudden there's actually a two-night minimum--after the had urged me to pick something quickly and I responded the same evening (within 90 minutes) * Then a dinner gift card that was offered in writing got pulled back a week later * Then they asked for a certificate number--there was never any certificate issued; the original offer was just 'let me know and I'll book you in' One of their managers actually admitted in writing that the restrictions were never explained upfront. And still--no confirmed booking as of April 2026. I've got the whole email chain if anyone doubts any of this. I'll update the review if they actually come through. Haven't been able to hold my breath that long yet.

Listen... this place? Whatever. Straight up whatever. Not…read morebad, not good, just existing like a soggy cracker in a hotel-shaped void. So we're laying there, right. Middle of the night. Lights off. Watching Harry Potter like civilized degenerates. Wizards flying, vibes neutral, life tolerable. And then... it reveals itself. The wall. No... not a wall. The wall. There's a "curtain." Except it's not a curtain. It's a PAINTED curtain. A fake curtain. A fraud curtain. A liar in curtain clothing. And brother... when I tell you this thing looked like someone just discovered paint five minutes ago and immediately lost custody of the brush... This wasn't art. This was a crime scene with color. I just started art school today. DAY ONE. I made some abstract nonsense, yeah? Even mine had structure. This thing? This thing looked like someone sneezed into a paint bucket and said "yep, hang it." It's just strokes. Just... strokes. One swipe. Another swipe. A weird blob like it's trying to escape the wall and apologize. Who approved this?? Who looked at that and said, "yeah... that's curtain enough." It's not even trying to be a curtain. It's like it heard about curtains once in a dream and woke up confused. I'm staring at it. I can't stop staring at it. It's staring back. It knows what it did. It's got that energy like when someone says "this piece represents emotion" and the emotion is just... regret. And it keeps getting worse the longer you look. It evolves. It mutates. It starts asking questions about your childhood. At one point I swear it shifted slightly like it was trying to become real. Not today. Not on my watch. We're sitting there in bed like: "Are we overreacting?" "No." "Should we leave?" "...yeah." And we did. We actually got up. Packed up. Walked out. No refund. No closure. Just two broken men escaping a haunted canvas that forgot how to be anything. Couldn't sleep. Couldn't blink. Couldn't coexist with that... thing. Final verdict? NO DIRTY BOY SEAL OF APPROVAL. Not even close. Seal denied. Seal disgusted. Seal left the building.

Not only are the rooms so cute and I mean every little detail they thought of. From the tissue holder, disco ball, chalkboard on the door, 75 inch tv, booklet with information and pamphlet showcasing the history of Ponderosa Hotel (the original). The amenities alone are worth it. First when you checkin the process is so easy and the staff is so sweet. You're also greeted with a complimentary drink. Then you enter your room through either door with a code assigned to you to enter the keypad. I loved this because sometimes those cards don't work or get deactivated. They have a beautiful lobby that is completely stocked if you need drinks/snacks. There is an arcade (games are free), pool, giant chess and other yard games, lounge chairs, pickleball court, musical playground, swing, garden, telescope, bikes to ride. My littles didn't run out of things to do at all. We may book a weekend trip just to come back and enjoy this hotel more. This is prob my new fave place to stay if I need a quick getaway. The vintage microwave and fridge in the room made my heart smile

Upon entering, the lobby is huge, spacious and very nice. Everything was clean and kept up well. It even had a nice smell all throughout the building. I booked a 2 queen 2 room suite and I really enjoyed the layout. It didn't feel so congested and this can be a perfect room for a family of 3-4 to offer some privacy as the couch is also a pull out bed. The hotel wasn't as modern but it was still a nice hotel. Later in the evening I opened my bed stand drawer and noticed dirty napkins inside which made me think that housekeeping missed that which is pretty gross but I just left it alone as so understand mistakes do happen and thankfully I don't use the drawers in hotels anyway. What I was most excited about booking here was the complimentary breakfast!!! You cannot beat an omelet bar and it was tasty!! There's many options to choose from and I love that they let me get an extra omelet for my sister who was in the room sleeping and didn't even question it. There's options for everyone including cereal, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, muffins, bagels and more. I'd definitely return to embassy suites and hopefully I'll stay more than one night next time. Their checkin is at 4 pm and checkout is at 11 am so more than 1 night is needed. Also I do want to add that I stayed here for Santa's Wonderland nearby and the hotel staff had two goodie bags waiting for me and my sister. It was super cute and thoughtful. The staff here were great!

I was upgraded to a junior suite which had one bathroom and two bedrooms. They offer earplugs at check in, I suggest you take them. The train does run early AM and uses its whistle often. I loved my stay, the place was clean, had updated moody colors and fixtures that weren't your typical "hotel" which is normally bland. They use local soaps and such that you can buy at reception. The little touches that make this hotel unique, being by a train stop, having a speakeasy in the basement, it's only open Thursday to Saturday (I think) we were not there on any of those nights. The bar area and check in is darling, a unique clock behind the reception desk does the time in military time. I would stay here again, even with the train going by in middle of night/early am. You can use the white noise app or earplugs and be fine. Parking- we arrived late so found street parking but looks like from 8am-6 pm or so there is a time limit, I didn't notice a private garage or lot. This hotel is located in a cute downtown area, I wish we had arrived earlier to walk and find a place to eat and browse the little boutiques.

The staff is polite and accommodating. The rooms are neatly renovated, spacious and well thought with all amenities. The views from the rooms are gorgeous and there is ample of lighting. The closets are decent sized and have a vault and ironing board which is very handy. There is ample of parking and a little park right outside the building. It is on the Main Street so you can literally walk anywhere and college station is also just a 12 min drive. The hotel and area is safe, I can attest as a solo female traveler who checked in at 1 am and was greeted by the warm lady host amber. The train passes by often but with the earbuds on I slept peacefully. Their dry cleaning service is not set up yet so please get and update if it's something necessary. Their gym is on the basement level. They have coffee in room and serve breakfast at the restaurant downstairs. I highly recommend choosing to stay here when you visit or just come here and spend a few days of peace and quiet. Kudos to staff and management
