We (my husband and I) were searching for a second vehicle and after seeing the stellar reviews online, decided to try this place. From what we'd read, their inventory consisted of "newer" used cars for decent prices. February of this year, we purchased a used SUV and the process was smooth, the employees were nice and the experience was extremely pleasant. Fast forward to April (less than 3 months later) and the air conditioner stops working, in May, the converter, purge solenoid and 2 O2 sensors need to be replaced. Obviously we're upset (understatement) BUT because we're told verbatim that the warranty we purchased on the vehicle would cover EVERYTHING (the manager's EXACT words) we'd just take it to the local dealership's service department and have it repaired. No....this was not the case. The service department called us back after looking at the vehicle to inform us the warranty does NOT cover the most expensive repairs BUT does cover the sensors. The cost (out of pocket) to repair the converter, air conditioner and purge solenoid was $1230.00. I immediately contacted the dealership (they are located in Marrero, we are about an hour away) and got the runaround. Not only could I not get in touch with any of the managers, I was told I would get a call back asap from Junior, the gentleman who'd helped us initially with purchasing the vehicle. I continued to call, to no avail. My husband called the other location and spoke with Darren the finance manager, who advised us to contact the service department where the vehicle is sitting and have them fax over all info to him so that he could have "their guy" look at it and potentially provide a solution. It's been 3 weeks and we haven't heard from anyone....at all. While we fully understand warranties and loopholes, what's covered, what's not covered and all that jazz....we certainly didn't expect to come out of pocket with over $1000 for repairs on a vehicle we'd literally just purchased. Usually we buy new vehicles and this has definitely been an eye opening experience, to say the least. Never, ever again will I even pass this place on the highway.....going 90 mph. A disgrace. First, let me say that I never write reviews; however, I felt compelled to do so after the exemplary service I received from Value Motors! I was very nervous walking in, afraid my less than credit score would stop me from getting a new car. Also, I was unsure how the sales team would treat me- an older gentleman- would I be "forced" into buying a lemon? I am relieved to report my fears were relieved immediately! As soon as I stepped into Value Motors, the sales duo Wayne and Joseph welcomed me and with absolutely NO pressure showed me a wide selection of very beautiful vehicles. Once I had made a decision they, along with Mr.Mike jumped thru hoops getting my credit approved, with payments I could afford on my fixed income! I can't say how impressed I am with Value Motors! This dealership is by far the most respectful family of employees I have ever ran across after my 15 years of buying and financing vehicles. They treated me professional and as I was just as important as one of them. As far as the vehicle I purchased, it had just arrived and I purchased it before being serviced and when I finished signing, they insisted in setting up an appointment the following day to get a complete service completed to secure me and my family safety. Value Motors was my last stop, after a very long weekend of shopping around at almost every other used car dealership within a 30 mile radius of my home. Immediately I could tell this place was different!! I was greeted with a warm welcome and the inventory on the lot was noticeably better than their competitors. She only drove the car for about a week and it's been in the shop ever since I do not recommend these people they're full of bull crap they just keep giving her over and around.
