Our furnace stopped working sometime in the night, I called in the morning and Dan came out within a couple hours of my call. He was prompt, professional and completely explained how to read the error code on the furnace, what was wrong and promptly fixed the issue. Great service, reasonable price. We are happy with the service provided and if needed will reach out to Value Heating in the future. read more

Called Dan about my faulty furnace. Not an emergency but he came out within an hour. He cleaned the dirty flame sensor and explained how to read the LED on the furnace if something else happens. He was very knowledgeable and explained a ton. He was in and out in about 20 minutes. Price seemed reasonable at $98. I'd definitely go with Value Heating again. read more

Furnace stopped working in the middle of a pretty chilly evening. Red blinking LED error code looked up online indicated it was malfunctioning part that costs a few hundred dollars. Called Dan the very next morning, shared all the information with him. I didn't consider it an emergency, but Dan told me he could swing by in just a couple of hours anyway. Dan arrived on time, was super friendly and understanding (I was on a work call when he arrived), and got right to work. Based on the furnace's error code and what I read online, I was expecting the repair to cost several hundred dollars with parts+labor. However, Dan didn't just go straight to that solution but decided to do his due diligence and make sure there were no underlying issues or hidden problems. Turns out, there was an underlying issue that was causing the problem-- and it turned out to be a much simpler (and dramatically cheaper) fix. I really appreciate Dan's hard work, expertise, and integrity. read more

Best A/C guy around! Didn't try to sell me things I didn't need and carefully explained everything. If you want a guy who won't jerk you around, call Value Heating & AC. read more

Honest times 3! Thorough, knowledgeable, reliable and informative. Wasn't here to sell us a new unit, came out to check the air conditioner for a leak and to add freon and that's what he did. Highly recommend Value Heating and Air Conditioning. read more

Dan was very helpful, accomodating a last minute schedule change and being very thorough in checking out and repairing our furnace. He took time to explain what he was doing and to help us understand what to do in the future. He's very knowledgeable and personable, I couldn't recommend his company more. read more

The best out there. Came to us as a recommendation from Buy Boise realty after the first company misdiagnosed our problem and quoted 25x the actual repair need. These guys know their stuff. read more

Very quick professional and honest. They came out quickly, replaced a part and had cold AC again. Thanks for the work. Highly recommend.

Value Heating and Air was referred to me by my wife's associate at work who also performs property management. The owner called me after hours after not being able to connect earlier in the day. Our main AC unit was out and he helped me over the phone with an error I made on a repair I performed that I had wired incorrectly. He spent 30 minutes on the phone discussing my options both presently and for the future regarding my 14 year old system. All this for no charge! This was prompted when the main AC unit was out and we had brought in another vendor (pink truck)who proposed a complete system change out. While I was pulled in for a while, I wisely sought a second opinion and was assisted by another honest vendor as well. Bottom line I went from a proposed $12K complete heating and air replacement, to a $6K AC replacement, to a $5K AC replacement, to (with kind free assistance) a $25.00 repair. This repair could have been performed by the first vendor for $250 and that would have been fair, but they were interested in the big sell and would say and do anything to achieve that goal. read more

Well folks, when you find a company that exceeds your best expectations you need to tell people. Such is the case with Value Heating. Dan R. and his assistant arrived on the dot, clean truck, clean shoes, clean uniforms and exuding professionalism and confidence. They got right to the business of checking both the air conditioning and heating systems, changed the furnace filter and wrapped up on time and at a super price. I had a coupon I think. Anyway, they deserve your business. They are the best. read more

Dan and Value Heating are a true Value to consumers. I have never met an HVAC person with the Integrity and Work Ethic as Dan provides. He is my go to for our family as well as my first referral to all clients and other agents. Thank you for all you do Dan. read more

TI have used Value Heating at my home and my parents home. They are professional, knowledgeable, and fair priced. They only fixed what needed to be fixed and didn't try to add to the repairs. They are so honest. I have recommended them to friends, knowing that they wouldn't disappoint. read more

Great service at good prices. I would and will highly recommend Value Heating Inc. to all my family and friends. After getting an estimate from a competing company I called around and found Value Heating Inc. to be the one that not only could come out at a reasonable time but had much more feasible pricing. Also, fixed our AC by replacing only what needed replacing rather than trying to upgrade parts that didn't need fixed like the original company. read more

When my insured air conditioner failed, Dan came out immediately and diagnosed the problem to show to the insurance company it could not be repaired. The insurance company quickly accepted his diagnosis and promised me a new A-C shortly. When it turned out the insurance company dragged its heels, Dan worked with me diligently to speed up the process. Had it not been for him, I'd most likely still be sitting in my hot house surrounded by nothing but fans. read more

I needed a professional Heating & AC company to come and check my furnace and AC unit out, and after asking around and searching the internet I chose Value Heating, Inc. of Star, Idaho. I was not disappointed. They were there right on time. In fact they called me to let me know when they would be there that day. When they arrived, Dan and his service technician went right to work checking and testing my systems. They found a bad electrical cable on my AC unit and asked if I wanted them to fix it, and I told them yes. I needed to make sure that everything was working good as I am in the process of selling this home. My only charge was for a service call and the price of the new cable. I told Dan about my bad experience I had with the guys in the Pink trucks a couple years ago in another home. I responded to a radio add to have my furnace and AC tuned up by this other company at a very low price. That is why I called them. The guys from this other business came and immediately told me that my heat exchanger had a crack. This could allow gas into my home, not a good thing. I asked if it could be repaired and they told me it would be very expensive and I would still have an older furnace. I was undecided what to do at that moment. Then I was told that they would have an inspector come and take a look, as a second opinion. So, I said fine. This "INSPECTOR" came, and he drove the same kind of Pink truck that these other guys were driving. I should have known that he would not be unbiased. The inspector agreed that my best course was to replace the furnace. Then the other service man came and told me that my AC compressor was drawing too much current, and should be replaced. It was a good thing that the "Inspector" Salesman was there. He got his sales materials and showed me my options for a new furnace and AC unit were. I wound up buying a $6000 heating and cooling system. It has worked fine, but I was very suspect about this transaction, but I had to take their word for what they were telling me. What I found out from Dan Ricken of Value Heating was this: Dan asked me if I was told by these 2 guys from other company who drive the Pink Trucks, that my heat exchanger would have had a 20 year warrantee on it? Well, Well, these guys in the pink truck failed to tell me that. If I had known I would have it repaired instead of replaced as my system was working well otherwise. So, If you want to have an honest evaluation, I would trust Dan of Value Heating, he gives you value and honesty. read more
