I just want to congratulate value cabs on a winning business model. I ordered a taxi to the train station one hour in advance to get the last train home. Taxi was 25 mins late. Missed the train£30 for a taxi home. 500% increase on payment for driver. read more

2.8 miles cost me over 12 pounds. That seems to be a bit much. Uber would be for about a half the price... I didn't want to deal with any bullshit at the time because i was tired so i just paid and didn't question anything but from now on, I'll use Uber or any other taxi company. Don't ever book this firm if you need a wheelchair taxi.We booked one for 1 pm on a Saturday and after 2 phone calls 1 still had not arrived.They then told us it would not be here until 1.50 pm and the wedding we had to be at started at 2pm.Absolute joke of a company and there customer service is shocking.I will never book them again read more

If you want to hear a driver moan about how expensive his depot rent is, or listen to a driver have a chat on his mobile phone then this is the taxi firm you need to call. They might be the biggest firm in Belfast but their service is the worst. Just remember the old saying, bigger doesn't always mean better! I'd much rather stay with the smaller taxi firms. And another point I must add, value cabs have been advertising on local radio about being the cheapest minimum fare, this is true but it's also a lie. Rip off merchants. Quoted us £19 from the airport to Cedar Avenue - the driver then charged us £24! When we told him we were quoted £19, he started shouting and swearing. He had even turned his meter off so we couldn't check the price was right so we called the office and they told us it's up to the driver. So why quote us £19? read more

Just returned from a long weekend in Belfast with a party of 47!! We used Value cabs to get to and from the airport plus a trip to Malone RFC and a few other trips. Given we needed 12 cabs each time I was amazed at how well they accommodated us. They were always very prompt, the drivers helpful, the cabs clean and good value for money. Had a bad experience with Value Cab service in Belfast. They quoted me on the phone £150 fixed price and when the trip was finished the driver (his name is Gary) demanded £200, because he took some stops that we never requested, He also refused to take my credit card, because he knew he was cheating. I think that company supports their drivers, when they cheat their customers, at least I could not get any resolution from their support read more

Taxi booked for 1am on sat night , left standing alone in the cold until 2.25am , after numerous calls from myself and my husband from home they finally collected me then had the nerve to charge me £17.50 for a 9mins taxi ride home. I made a booking with Value cabs for a pickup at the SSE for midnight, expecting that a booking made several days in advance would guarantee this pickup time. No taxi arrived, so I called Value cabs three times over a period of 45 minutes asking when a taxi would pick us up and each time I was told I was in a queue and that they could not tell me when a taxi would arrive. During this 45 minute period at least 40 Value Cab taxis picked up other passengers from the SSE, I approached several taxis that were waiting and they were willing to take passengers on short journeys (for an inflated fare), but not willing to take us as we were travelling outside of Belfast. I think this is a fundamental flaw in the app and process that Value Cab use to mange their customer bookings. It seems that taxi drivers can simply ignore bookings during busy times and cherry pick the fares that will keep them in Belfast and effectively strand travellers who are trying to leave the city boundaries. read more

Think Paula must work for value cabs or have family employed there! Found their service to be not the best - often taxis dont turn up or you have to wait for ages - had similar experience to last caller where they tell you they are outside and they are not. Wish we had more choice in Belfast - both fonacab and value cabs part of the same family group and think they own belfast! started to employ alot of drivers who dont seem to know where they are going - one recently asked me how to get to Ballinahinch! read more

System failure - my friend and I ordered 2 taxis for outside RBG at 1am on 23rd Oct, one going to Antrim road and one to Lisburn. The one for Antrim toad turned up at 1.10, the other did not. Despite a call direct from the first taxi, the second taxi did not turn up. Repeated calls were made and despite being told we were being made a priority no taxi arrived. This was very disappointing and very embarrassing as we were entertaining visitors from England. Eventually at 1.50am, we had enough of waiting and jumped in a black cab! DO NOT USE VALUE CABS!!! Phoned for a taxi this morning and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. Waited 30 mins, rang and was told it was just around the corner. After a further 15 mins I rang back only to be told that it had been and gone. I was at the gate of my apartment for pretty much the whole 45 minutes and am certain a taxi didn't turn up. In the end the Metro bus proved more reliable (and that's saying something) but I was an hour late to work thanks to value cabs. Will never use them again. read more

This is without a doubt the worst cab company in all of Belfast. A group including myself phoned a cab from Ulster Hall. Shortly thereafter we received an arrival text with the cab information. We quickly located our cab, only to find someone already sitting inside. The driver informed us he would phone another cab to collect us. We once again received an arrival text with the cab information and again went to find the cab. once AGAIN someone was already in the cab. When we complained to the driver that we had already lost our cab once and did not expect to lost another, he very rudely stated that that was not his problem and drove away. This cab company is consistently rude and does not wait for the customer that rang for the cab to begin with, even after texting the arrival information. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, Fonacab are much friendlier and reliable. Will never be contacting this company again. I only gave a star rating because giving zero was not an option. read more

Yesterday evening me and my friend were going to some restaurant. I didn't know about what taxi company he was calling,as usually I call different taxi company..so he called Value Cabs. When the taxi arrived somehow we couldn't get into the car in like 15 mins because the taxi was waiting for us on the other side of the street. There was traffic and we were going to get hit by a car almost. And it's like our fault the taxi driver was pressing the horn constantly..Here all I know that when we call a taxi (which we do that a lot),we give them an address with a house number etc..their job is to drive and come right in front of the house and wait then start the meter.Finally after we got into the car he was asking a lot of questions like; where we were from,where we were going,what we were going to do,how old we were,how many drinks we are going to drink and then when I asked him why he stopped across the street and not in front of the house like the other taxi companies drivers he told me "why don't you find a new house,so you can get a taxi easier"..that did not make any sense and he was rude,he didn't know the place where we were going to as well...;in a way I understood he was in his own way by criticizing us for being foreigners was actually trying to change the subject or something. He was asking my friend like so many questions about his private life and almost rudely..None of these made any sense to me. I did not like it. My friend stopped me to say anything,other wise I would have said something and changed the taxi by just dialing another companies number right there and then. Because my friend is a kind person..If I am paying,I at least would like to get a normal service as I studied for it as well,why would I pay for someone makes a mistake and criticize us..Usually I have a taxi company that I call them everytime I need a taxi. They are wearing suits and have ID"s. They open the cars doors and until I ask a question they would not talk ! Now,that is the service everyone deserves. We are customers; no matter where we are from,what's our background.. And all this just ruined our night we were planning to have a great night. It was to early to see all that.
