Great location....horrific experience. Home is in disrepair. Requests for repairs or basic maintenance are ignored. Toilets do not work, plumbing in kitchen leaks, floors are so sloping that the only thing keeping the refrigerator from rolling into the next room was a wall. Dining room has had a (broken) door put on it to be considered another bedroom....no closet. Mice and roach infestation. At the end of the lease, charges were levied for items that were noted as needing attention at move in! We added locks for security, insulation in the basement and did more than $350 in necessary maintenance....never reimbursed or acknowledged by owner. STAY AWAT FROM 412 E ALICE and I urge extreme caution when dealing with Melba Edwards, MJE Properties, Edwards Properties. I have no clue what the process is around Indiana University to assure that landlords are ethical people, leading safe, clean properties, but I do not believe her properties meet minimum health code requirements for occupancy.
